my mission to radicalize my Chinese immigrant neighbour named Jeff about landlords/rents continues
#we moved in at the same time and he has a wife and young daughter#and yet they're getting charged like $300 more#it's insane#they also live in a 1bd 1bath like me!#anyway i'm v open about my rent payments#anyway he's my only friend in this building SJKDHFJKSHDF#personal#he's probably in his 40s and works for the power company#and his wife and kiddo are very nice 😭#also w chinese naming conventions - when we exchanged phone numbers I obviously put my first/last name in the wrong way#soo he calls me by my last name and it's so endearing i dont have the heart to tell him SJKDHFKJHSDF#he also asks sometimes about english words#and i wanna ask to learn some basic Mandarin lol
