#also wouldn't have questioned it bc a lot of Native folk are in Mexico as well!!! it's not a crime to be in more than one checkmark!

[sees your Latino Caboose headcanons, offers him the company of my Salvadoran Locington Siblings] Blasphemy, ik, but Locus cooks just as good as his abuela. Also eyyyy we're 5th generation Mexican-American on mom's side, Tsalagi on dad's, so hi5. (Being hyperspecific just bc I don't want to deal with "but you just said you're Native how can you be Latine" bullshit from random Tumblr ignoramii lmao.)
Oh I wouldn't have questioned it!! I'm 4th gen Mexican-Canadian from my father's side and my Mom's side has been here for-fucking-ever (and a lot of the records got burned in the US national archives fire in '73.) I knew I had Latino ties but I didn't know I was quite that close until somewhat recently, and I've gotten a bit attached to un-whitewashing my life. Even my great-grandpa did that, and he was from Coahuila! 'Tis a shame he changed his name, but I can't blame him - lived in Texas in the pre and post WW2 era. I get why having an Americanized name might make life easier then.
Also, did y'all write those fics? I read some of those! It was fun! I don't subscribe to locington siblings but they were nice regardless! Hard agree, Locus definitely knows how to cook. The scroll-over Spanish translations were really cool too. It's nice to have other fandom ppl exploring the rvb's canon ethnicities and cultures a bit. Been meaning to do a reasearch dive for Locus since he's gonna feature a lot in a fic I wanna write, haha.
