There was absolutely nee chance of me getting out that car with the wedding cake!! ☔☔☔ Gave it ten mins and sun started shining!! 🌞 Boys loved doing their first wedding cake delivery with me. Quite handy actually to hold doors and close car boot etc for me. They loved looking around the rooms (which look AMAZING - pics later!!) and generally good little cheerleaders telling me how awesome the cake looked on the cake table! I've had the kind of day today that reminds me WHY I love my job. This group had their first class on 7th July - three weeks ago! Most had never even touched sugarpaste or baked a cake before!! I'll also mention that two of these learners have moderate learning disabilities. I am so so proud of what ALL my learners achieve. The smiles and laughter I experience when people realise their own talents and to see confidence build by so much in such a short time. And that's only what I see in the classroom. What an amazing way to end this academic year!! It's teachers who make the little ones count!! I was absolutely honoured to be asked by Castletown Primary School to make a cake for Mrs Shotton, who is sadly retiring this year after teaching in the school since forever - or at least since I was in primary school! Ha ha I had to go ask in the office what Mrs Shotton's name was, because we all know teachers' first names are top secret stuff!
