💚 Tales of Moldova 💚 Published by @thefoxmagazine 📗: This photo-narrative street photography series aims to piece together the puzzle of the Moldavian identity and culture. From its Soviet Union symbols and history, to its flirty adaptation to the western civilisation, there is an unsolved enigma about this country. Considered by some the poorest in Europe and with the lowest human development index, the decision to be one of the 20 thousand foreign tourists that visit this little eastern nation was dubious for me. However, from the traveller and photographer perspective, the charm was in the uniqueness of its patchy urban and rural landscapes, and the important religious and military presence. In this two weeks photo-trip throughout Moldova I explored: Chisinau, Milestii Mici Winery, Valea Morilor, Saharna Monastery, Tipova Monastery, Orheiul Vechi, Trebujeni-Butuceni Monastery, Cricova Winery, Capriana Monastery, Curchi Monastery, Transnistria (Bender y Tiraspol), Gaugazia, Congaz, Comrat, Belsama, Taraclia, Svetlii, Soroca, Japca Monastery, Balti, Padurea Domneasca National Park and Asconi Winery. The images show the picturesque intricacy of Moldova, looking for its own position between the old and the new, and at the same time combining the respect to the roots and the slow pace movement towards capitalism. ⭐️ Tales of Berlin ⭐️Published by @mordantmagazine August Vol. 01 📸 About these tales: This series presents the capital of Germany like a mottled pattern. The colourful set is a continuum of multilayered testimonies of creation because in this city everything seems to be touched by art, as if it were an open air exhibition. As a photographer, I found creativity and originality in the textures of the curious finds. In front of the camera, all the wet subjects were struggling to overcome the gray and dull light, almost like making an effort to be noticed as contemporary art museum pieces. I feel influenced by pop culture and this is evident in my photographs. My expression is simple and tries to be catchy-oriented, using for instance a gimmick of repetitions. The protagonists of the images do not differ to my traditional approach to street photography, again the plastic people, the saturated colors, the reflections, and the crowded-patchy compositions are present. Welcome to the damp and deep-coloured Berlin of March 2019. This photo-narrative was selected and edited during the confinement due to the coronavirus as a way to escape from reality.
