This isn’t a portrait. It’s a thank you.

O primeiro cão que me pôs completamente à vontade só por estar por perto.

Uma alma gigante num corpo sereno. Inocência e gentileza, sempre ali — visíveis, constantes, sem esforço.

Isto não é um retrato. É um agradecimento.

Arenas movedizas

Nos movemos en un terreno resbaladizo, en tiempos sin certezas, surfeamos las olas de una sociedad líquida que lo tritura y lo licua todo, todo es cambio, todo es transitorio, todo es superficial. Aprendemos a soltar y correr antes que aprender a caminar. El desapego: uno de los aprendizajes más difíciles y que dura toda la vida. 

Somos la generación libre, la que no tiene vínculos, que quiere a medias. La de la identidad fragmentada, del delirio consumista, del pecho y la mente llenos de miedos, de los sentimientos aguados. Amamos mal porque lo hacemos con el alma anestesiada.

¿Y si quisiera sentir sin anestesias?

Subí muy, muy alto, hasta la cima, y nunca me paré a mirar atrás ni a pensar en una posible caída….solo pensé en las vistas que desde arriba serían muy bonitas. Y lo eran. Subir tan alto y mirar abajo desde la cima es de valientes y al fin y al cabo yo nunca he tenido vértigo.

*Flowing* Cyanotype print on Hahnemühle Harmony HP Model: Elodie ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have finally managed to set up my cyanotype printing apparatus again and spent some time lately working out the best paper for the Photosynthesis images. It turns out that of all those I own, the one I prefer is Hahnemühle Harmony, and this beautiful image of Elodie and her flowing hair was a good test shot. Um senhor à espera do comboio. Casaco grosso, mãos nos bolsos, olhar que já viu muitos dias iguais a este. Não há pressa no corpo, só a pausa de quem sabe esperar — porque a vida, muitas vezes, também se faz de andares devagar.

A fotografia não capta o comboio. Capta o momento antes. A solidão discreta. A rotina repetida. A dignidade silenciosa de mais um dia comum.

An old man waiting for the train. Thick coat, hands in his pockets, eyes that have seen many days just like this one. No rush in his posture — just the stillness of someone who’s learned how to wait, because life, often, moves best at a slower pace.

The photo doesn’t capture the train. It captures the moment before. The quiet solitude. The repeated routine. The silent dignity of another ordinary day.
