The Heart of Ancestry was given to us by amber; a part of the sacred family trees of ancestral knowledge. These Baltic Amber stones were selected because of their high testing of baltic acid content. This content makes Baltic the best for jewelry and most lasting but there is a metaphysical component to Baltic Amber that is much more valued to me than anything else. Grandma Kennedy’s cough remedy my sister, @meggoony , revealed to me yesterday! Layers of strong raw onion and brown sugar turn into a syrup in 24 hours. I just found out that a beloved Elder of my family has crossed over. I am taken aback. We knew she was sick for sometime but it doesn’t change anything when there is a passing. Ready or not it is an untethered feeling. There is something about this time of year, when the sun sucks up behind the earth, it can take more than just warmth with it. I remember the moment I realized my Mother was now the Grandmother, I was now the Mother, and my child was now the child of the family. It wasn’t the day I lost my Maternal Grandmother. It took years to fit into these new roles. I still felt small and ready to play in her backyard on the swing set. No matter how mature, that part of me was not ready to die away or even sleep. I know I am lucky. Some lose their Elders when they are young and I was able to keep mine as late as into my 30th year and 35th year. And beyond. When the Elders start to fall away and peel off the outer layer of your ancestry; I always feel exposed. Like my new role skin has to become tough to be this new part I have been given. The one before me is so missed at this title. I feel like I’m spinning. When you become an adult it seems like your life doesn’t stop. Like someone pulled the ball of yarn that is you. When we get to the other side that dizziness... Does it last for you to catch a breath? Or does it stop just in time for you to say goodbye to all that you have made? I asked once of her what she saw at the top of this mountain she had slain. She said, ‘It’s all become very clear up here.’ There is nothing like a Grandmother, a Grandfather, a Great Aunt, or a Great Uncle. There is nothing like a Great Grandmother or a Great Grandfather. They are remarkably glorious and in my eyes undefeated. Death doesn’t even truly take them. 💔 #AncestorMedicine

A lot of times I am approached with a question pertaining to unanswered hopes and dreams. I am always told one of the following: 'I pray and pray and nothing ever happens..' 'I put it out in the universe but it doesn't come back...' 'I burned a candle for my intention but...' 'I followed the spell to the detail but...' 'I try and try but...' It is no secret that the world has forgotten patience and over night success or return is sometimes expected before many tap out. In a high speed internet- overnight shipping kind of world we have forgotten the space between now and then. The ride of the ebb and flow. Most importantly we have forgotten how to make the gods live again. There was a time they walked only two feet above the earth but the white noise widened and ways of old thinned out. The gap between the zero point and us is much different now and we are underneath the frozen ice at the deepest parts of the water's depths. We are the ones that fell away. The gods sleep until they are awaken and crying their name, wearing sigils, or following a guide on the latest new magical system will not suffice. Some use Ancestry for starters. Finding the names the gods knew you as before now can bring familiarity to the connection. The main operative that most seem to forget is... what have you offered? When thinking of someone whom is unwell; leave some seed for birds outside for their healing. When you drink tea; do you pour a thimble or a sake cup of the same tea to a passed family member that you have asked for help? When you ask the universe to get you out of a upsetting situation; have you left a food offering outside for the animals that we have taken so much from? Do you offer pieces of your meal to your guides, gods, ancestors? What have you given? You need food to live... so do the gods. Offer when you ask. Offer to show gratitude. Offer always. I have to tell you a story that I should have told at the beginning of summer. Life really fell down on me this year. I had more obligations than I was used to & it left me in some tough spots. Like when roads meet unevenly; I was left jumping down or climbing up. You know how it can be when you scratch to pull the leeches off you end up scratching yourself too. It is all worth it when you pull them off just to watch them turn to dust. Mercury still walks backwards & Retrograde is pulling my skin back at times but I find myself in the reflection of water and in my sleep. I should have posted this some time ago. My Grandmother always wanted me to have a fetish necklace she had for forever. I always refused. I told her when she passed away she could send it to me. She said when she passes away someone else would take it. I told her she'd find a way. I even wrote a letter to her expressing my feelings about this. I felt she needed it more than me. She was correct, after she passed away it was nowhere to be found. Another necklace she wanted me to have was so I was grateful. I don't kick up a fuss about material things. She found a way for the other necklace so I was fine. This passed June my family & I were in Oklahoma. We went to a favorite trading post that I have spoke of many times in past posts. The owner, White Dove, is the lady with all the rings (#Goals) and great knowledge. We greeted her & began to look around. I was in search a a bday necklace. I found a green stone w/ silver beads that was appealing but then I went to the fetshes & saw a purple sugalite fetish. It reminded me of my Grandmother's necklace. White Dove told me the fetish came from a great family with very old medicine. I loved it. I held the two necklaces to my husband and said, 'Which one?' He said, 'Purple is your favorite color but you said you are on a green kick.' No help huh? 😂 So I turned to White Dove and she said, 'Your Grandmother said the purple one because it reminds her of the one she promised to you.' I instantly dropped my jaw. White Dove has done this before but this one made me weak in the knees. This one it is! My heart sings! She found a way! 💜 #ancestorMedicine
