My favorite dumbass headcanon is that all the apparently unmarried sect leaders post-timeskip actually ARE married and it just doesn’t come up. Nie Huaisang has like 3 kids it’s just not relevant to the story

#the ONLY version of Huaisang being a dad I can accept #is that one really good fic where he just keeps marrying women who are in tough situations #either their families are abusive or the guy their parents want them to marry is abusive or they’re just lesbians #and he comes to visit his one billion wives and their kids every evening and sometimes one or more wives leave with him to have a #roll in the hay and sometimes they don’t but it’s always their decision #and at first he doesn’t have a favorite wife bc he didn’t marry any of them for love #but then someone goes ‘undercover as a woman’ and marries him to get an opportunity to assassinate him #and realizes in the process that 1) whoops I’m definitely a trans woman #2) I might. be in love with the guy I was hired to kill #and Huaisang falls in love with her tooooo and like. yeah she’s found out but it all gets straightened out in the end #god what AU was that even part of? it was like genuinely a random side story it wasn’t the main plot at all
