#Marvel#Marvel comics#Scarlet Spiders#Scarlet Spider#Kaine#Kaine Parker#Ben Reilly#gosh there have just been so few people who have cared about protecting Kaine this scene really gets to me you know?#and I do find this perspective on Kaine being afraid of ‘cutting loose’ interesting#I guess it just seems a bit more apparent from an outside perspective whereas Kaine tends to bury things deep#and censor them even from his own internal monologue#but it makes sense why he wouldn’t want to risk losing himself in service to The Other#Kaine’s spent a lot of time getting out from under people’s thumbs and he’s worked too hard for his sense of personhood/ID#to be undone by The Other
