#and I don’t want to make my child Koby like that I love him too much

I want nothing more than to make Koby this absolute stuttering mess of a simp, 24/7, who’s just a gentle soul, who cries easily and probably blushes the second Luffy so much as looks at him
But then I remember he’s also kind of a badass and even though he cries easily it’s just because he’s a really compassionate guy—like the dude stopped a torpedo and did something in Rocky Port, what I don’t know, but still, and he helped break free several prisoners when held captive by freaking Blackbeard. So like I don’t wanna babify him
BUT LIKE I WANT HIM TO BE A STUTTERING SIMPING MESS LIKE BARTOLOMEO BUT NOT Y’KNOW???

Happy 200 Followers! 🎉🎉
To celebrate 200 followers, I wanted to do something fun <33 For the next couple of weeks, I’ll be doing a little music / lyric based event!! This is the first time I’ve ever done something like this, so please, bear with me. That said, I’m incredibly excited to test this out, and if all goes well, I’m open do doing more events in the future!
Tumblr media
My regular rules still apply, so keep that in mind and give them a little read. You can find them here!
- As a reminder, I tend to stick to gender neutral and male readers, but I’m willing to write female reader if requested specifically. However, I do reserve the right to default to gender neutral reader if I can’t find a way to organically incorporate gender into the fic :3
These are the characters I write for: Ace, Law, Koby, Zoro, Sanji, Crocodile, Shanks, Mihawk, Nami, Robin, Smoker, Tashigi, Buggy, Boa Hancock
- Please only send one character per prompt. I’m open to doing the same character multiple times, though! Especially if they’re my fav >:3
- To make a request, send in the name of the song the lyric is from and the name of the character you want for it. Make sure I know this is for the event in your ask! I can be a little dense at times, hehe.
- You’re welcome to be specific for a request, such as specifying if you want fluff or angst, or if you’d prefer the lyric to relate more to the reader or to the character you’ve requested!
- All that said, have fun and go crazy! I’m excited and i hope you are too <33 Have a wonderful day, and thank you for reading and/or requesting!! If you have any questions, feel free to ask or DM me and I’ll happily clarify :3
- Update: Just to clarify, I don’t do doubles of the same prompt. I don’t wanna get overwhelmed with the amount of requests! So, once a prompt is requested, I strike it through and it’s done :3

ok backlog of thoughts on the one piece arcs i did not think to liveblog! putting a bunch under a read more because this got long and i don’t want to make a ton of separate posts for retroactive takes.
- luffy really just set out to sea with the thought process of “if i die well lmao.” decidedly unlmao, but don’t tell him that. he also immediately decided koby made a perfect punching bag
- the entire exchange with zoro was basically “join my crew!” “no.” “i think you should.” “guess i have absolutely no choice but to join.” and that is now their entire story
- luffy getting anyone to join his crew is basically just that gif that cuts between bryan cranston dancing and pointing at himself. luffy isn’t asking, either. welcome to the crew, you start in an hour.
- also, love this dinghy. two dudes, chilling in a small boat two feet apart because there’s no room. luffy’s having a blast with his two man crew and zoro’s just along for the ride. completely unfazed. gonna work on his tan and nap.
- also, also. they showed it later in the anime but it was the first thing in the manga, but luffy stabbing himself in the face. see, i remember reading the first volume in middle school so i was waiting for that scene. i also had vague memories of other characters like zoro and sanji, so it was nice to see them appear again. not so nice to remember my first introduction to one piece was the 4kids version lmao
- i love makino. this woman is like 20 on the outside but you know after dealing with luffy and shanks & co. she’s gotta be feeling 50 on the inside. i hope she gets to hit someone with a broom at some point. or go on vacation.
- shanks is like the cool uncle you’ll let watch your kid for a few hours, but only because you called another adult to watch shanks. the dude leaves a devil fruit on the bar in plain view of a hungry child and goes yep, surely nothing will come of this. of course he fuckin’ ate it. freaked out for a minute and went damn, well what can you do lol this is inconvenient
- these bandits coming into the bar and giving shanks shit, only to have luffy give the leader shit back and the guy decides well! guess i, a grown man, have no choice but to beat up a child.
(karma said lmao)
- nami showed up and said she’ll fuck luffy’s shit up if she has to. and then she did. good for her.
- i think the introduction of buggy was the first time i really went oh, so we’re weird weird here, huh. i mean, with a name like “buggy the clown” being taken seriously that’s when it clicked. AND THEN HE STABS THE STRAW HAT? sir you’ve crossed a line. luffy’s gonna chop chop your head clean off and drop it in the ocean.
- when i got to the syrup village/kuro arc i was like damn, how long is this battle. oh you fool, you pathetic fool. you knew nothing.
- jango got sent after some kids to go kill them and like. not for nothing but if i had a nickel for every time someone went after a kid in this show ...
- ok but when kuro was doing his whoosh whoosh invisible move or whatever the hell it was, why didn’t someone just get out a stick and trip him. fight’s a lot shorter then.
- zoro’s backstory thus far is just here’s his friend! and now she’s dead! he has no friends but he has a dream! he + the others need therapists.
- see when we got to sanji i knew him!! i remembered this man. 4kids also gave him lollipops instead of cigarettes. lolly suckin’ loser. love zeff too. between the anime and manga i’m not sure which canon i want to lean into more: him severing his foot to save sanji, or him eating it.
- mihawk fight!! the way luffy SCREAMED when zoro nearly got slashed in half and the weight behind “i will never be defeated again. YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT, KING OF THE PIRATES?!” ohhh these two boys in a dinghy. there are a lot of promises being passed back and forth.
- the don krieg fight! idk that guy was just annoying. not much else to say about that aside being glad when it was over. also hilarious how for each of these fights everyone took their turns. like no, no, like mihawk and zoro fight, and then we’ll go next. and meanwhile those not involved are just pivoting to watch each fight.
- i feel so bad for baby sanji. i still want to study the grown man like a bug, but that baby has been through a lot. (hey, so, does this show hate kids or something.)
- arlong park! ok this was the first arc that really shows how deep the story can get, i think, or at least the first glimpse into it. this was more than “i took over this town to get some money.” this was using a young child to get something he wanted and her using him in return. and she had to work for the man who murdered her mother! who he shot right in front of her and then laughed and dragged her away!
- zoro beat up a bunch of fishmen because he got BORED. luffy told him to wait and “what do you do while i’m gone?” “wait for you to get back” except there are bodies everywhere
- NAMI STABBED HERSELF IN THE ARM SO MANY TIMES how does she not have serious muscle pain after that? AND THEN LUFFY GIVES HER HIS HAT. that’s the first time we’ve seen that one. oh my god
- also zoro is still heavily wounded from his fight with mihawk, arlong rips his bandages off and even he’s shocked he’s alive, nami and the others are horrified, and then luffy just fuckin’ tosses him into the ocean
- luffy’s secret move in a boss battle is just to piss them off. what’s the difference between their species? idk, noses? he’s going to break arlong’s. AND HE DID.
- luffy: “huh, maybe we should get a doctor on our crew first instead of a musician.” zoro, getting his innards sewn back in: “why do you say that?”
- he’s so excited about his bounty! good for him. he’s a wanted man.
- i like this smoker dude. seems like an okay guy.
- roronoa “can i borrow money but also jk i got two swords for FREE” zoro who has so much debt his credit score has plummeted. he’s never going to be able to financially recover from this.
- usopp v daddy fight. words i didn’t think i would say and yet.
- only luffy would nearly get executed and treat it as a “WHOOPS LMAOOOO” only to have an act of god save his life.
- the millenial dragons arc. oh my god. why does apis SCREAM LIKE THAT. they spend five episodes going back and forth to two different islands. “is this the right one? oh jk actually it’s the one we just came from.” is this what hell is like
- because sailing UP a mountain into the grand line makes perfect sense
- THE WHISKY PEAK STORY AHHHH the first moment where luffy jumps to conclusions and zoro doesn’t get a chance to explain himself, but also why should he have to? and luffy yells that he’s going to kill him? they’re supposed to trust one another implicitly! since day one! and then luffy punches him in the face and he’s not holding back and neither his zoro
- luffy says “i’m going to beat the shit out of you” and zoro says “go ahead and try” and nami says “WATCH THIS”
- love that vivi’s like don’t say his name too loud! and luffy immediately goes “who, CROCODILE?”
- an island with dinosaurs. because it just makes sense.
and that’s about caught up to where i started blogging during little garden

interested to know what you're thoughts are on how law's character arc will end in op? his alliance with luffy, his ability to obtain the one piece, anything really.
i'm convinced he's going to die. idk why, and i really feel like it'll have something to do with the eternal life surgery. hopefully i'm wrong! but as resident law lover, i want your opinion!
Hi babe!! thank u for asking! It is a liiiilte bit (a lot) long so I hope you don't mind ♥
Well, first in first I HOPE HE DOESN’T DIE because Idk if I can handle losing him. That being said, let me tell you what I think…
As much as Law tries to hide it, Law is Luffy’s friend. So no need to have an alliance anymore. He has found in Luffy someone who wants the same as him. Law is not interested in the One Piece treasure at all. His true motivations are a little different from being the “pirate king”. Let me tell you why….
Spoilers from “One Piece Novel: Law” (canon) and Manga under the cut. -And a LONG theory -
The novel tells us about what happened after Cora’s death, how Law managed to cure himself and how he ended up meeting Mr. Wolff, Bepo, Shachi and Penguin. In the novel it is stated that Law didn’t really care about being a pirate, but his true reasons to set sail were no other than taking down Doflamingo (What Law believed was Cora’s purpose). So, in order to fulfil Cora’s will he spent two years training not only his df powers but also as a surgeon working at a local hospital. Bepo, Shachi and Pen did the same, of course. So, to be honest, I don’t think Law's first purpose was in no way to become the Pirate King.
After the battle of Dressrosa, once Doffy was defeated and Law spoke to ex admiral Sengoku, he understood that;
First, as we all know, Cora’s love was beyond any type of revenge or plan against Doffy.
And then, the unknown meaning of the D. That meaning he was probably not really interested in until he saw how Doffy reacted knowing he was a D. And of course I’m sure he asked himself a lot about why Luffy has the same secret name? Is he supposed to do something similar to Mugiwara-ya? What does that D hide?.
Then, in Wano… he states his intentions to know about the meaning of the D clearly on ch. 995 of the manga. He even asks Robin if she knows about it.
Tumblr media
But, let’s discuss something else here. His relationship with Smoker, X-Drake and Koby. (And ofc his step grandad Sengoku)
So, as you may know before the alliance with Luffy, Law was a Shichibukai right?
So, what happened in the two years of time skip for him to become a warlord? Most of the people accepted the quick explanation that this little emo doctor one day appeared at Marineford with a box of 100 PIRATE hearts and so the marine said “Oh amazing, let’s make him an ouka shichibukai”. Weird, right? Specially when it comes to One Piece. And mainly because how the fuck did they check if those hearts were from pirates? And what does that even mean? Did Law want to show the Marine how strong he was? or...
In the same chapter Law is presented as “Trafalgar D. Water Law, Surgeon of Death & Mastermind of the Rocky Port incident”. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT? WHAT HAPPENED THERE?
Tumblr media
So, the only information we have about it till now (+10 years) is that it also involves Koby. Koby was decorated as Hero and Captain of the Marine after that because he “saved many civilians' lives”. So, we could say that if Law was the one who planned the incident and Koby fought in it at least they have met each other -at least once-.
Tumblr media
And of course we all think Law was probably the bad guy, right? But, there are NO proofs of it whatsoever. What if Law AND Koby worked together against the 100 pirates Law left heartless? What if Law is not a real pirate, but perhaps has something to do with the Marine? Maybe the idea of creating this incident was to show fake information to the Marine. One possibility is that they wanted to show Law as a rival to hide his connections with some marines (Koby, X-Drake, Smoker) or maybe just the opposite, like "hey, this guy helps the marine" let's give him the Shichibukai title.
And by this I’m not really saying Law is a Marine. I don’t really think so. But, maybe he has something to do with the S.W.O.R.D. project where Koby, X- Drake, probably Smoker and Tashigi and Kuzan are involved.
From here I think it is important for me to clarify that -in my opinion- there are two sides of the Marine. The “bad guys” who let’s say are represented by Akainu; people who use the word “justice” WRONGLY. Those who work in the Marine just to protect nobles and tenryuubitos. And then the "good guys" those represented by Smoker, Cora, Bellemere, Koby, Garp, X-Drake, Ishoo who fight for TRUE JUSTICE. Even though if that depended on fighting with and not against some pirates.
A good example and I think Oda wanted to show this as a foreshadow of the future big war was these specific moment at Punk Hazard
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marines + SWORD + Pirates together against people sent by Doffy (a former Celestial Dragon). Or even during Dressrosa!
Aaaand what about Law’s relationship with Smoker? Remember how Law saved Smoker ass during his fight against Vergo? Remember how Law told Smoker about Green bit? Why the fuck would Law tell a marine about his plans? There is some info missing here that I hope Oda will enlighten us with it sooner.
Another of the many reasons Law might be involved in the SWORD project is his relationship with X-Drake. Back to Dressrosa arc, specifically during Cora’s flashback, X-Drake literally saved Law’s life indirectly. How? Well… the Ope Ope no mi was stolen by Cora from X-Drake's father. Little Drake was there too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Doffy heard the Marine radio stating they had found a child he thought it was Law and so they escaped. But in reality, the child was no other than X-Drake. Drake was adopted by Sengoku, just as he did with Cora and became a Marine. Drake and Smoker TRAINED together.
And then again, up until the current arc, with the help of Drake I think Law was able to escape Wano prison and attacked Hawkins.
And why would Drake help Law to escape if after all his dad was killed because of the events that involved little Law?... well, maybe because they are more than fellow supernovas… and what's Drake? A marine from Sword like Koby.
(Not to mention how Drake got even with Law because of his past by hitting the shit out of him during the “acting” at Wano prison in from of Hawkins).
So… to not make this text endless (even though I have many other reasons to believe Law is not a pirate at all) I'm sure Law FIGHTS for TRUE JUSTICE (besides him wanting to know about the will of D) for many reasons; 1. To avenge his family deaths, 2. To end up with the endless night the WG has brought into the world… after all he is a D, right?
But if you ask me about what's gonna happen with Luffy? I don't think he will get mad when he learns the truth about his precious Torao. After all Luffy is used to fight with the good marines against injustice! He even accepted X Drake to join them during Wano raid (Ch.990)
Tumblr media
About his possible death, I really hope he doesn’t die, but to be honest, Oda has the power to decide it so… let’s pray this won't happen. And as he said many times “the moment someone makes a theory that’s true I will change it”.
So I could make this theory ENDLESS but for the sake of your sanity I won't go any further hahaha.
Thank u for asking, darling! ♥

Big Brother
Okay, so those that know me know that I have three theories about ATLA/LOK (due to the plot holes etc). 1. Propaganda, 2. child’s game 3. Mental illness.
Chose the later. And kind of the 2nd as well, because the stories were originally tales that Zuko told as a child.
Chimes sounded, gentle, sweet, rising and lowering rhythmically, letting all visitors know that time was up. Less like a warning and more like a salutation, Azula could almost hear words to the sounds:  So long, farewell thank you for coming. So long farewell see you soon.
Azula looked over at her brother. He was sitting erect, head held high as if pulled by that string to the ceiling her yoga teacher always referenced. His eyes were closed and his hands flat against the table.
As soon as the last echo of the chimes receded he stood, hands still flat against the table, and leaned forward, his cape falling forward over his shoulders, his headpiece pointing toward the wall behind her.
Azula held her breath and looked up at him. One of the aides stepped forward.
“I must go now Azula," he said, and planted a kiss on her forehead. He looked at her pityingly, sighed and straighted up, tossing back his cape with a shake.
“I'm glad you sat with me,” she answered.
“You are my sister. Nothing will ever change that,” he assured her, and then turned on his heel and marched out of the visiting room.
Azula waited till he was out of sight, then stood and headed for the door. The guard on the other side, a young nurse by the name of Kobi, buzzed her through.
“Did you leave anything with us?" He asked. They were always nice and kind. The hospital was a good one. Not like the first one Zuko had been
“No. My father's waiting for me downstairs.” It disturbed Zuko to see the two of them together. She and her father had tried to visit together several weeks back. It hadn't been good.
“He seems better,” the guard offered.
“Well.” What did that even mean? Lost in his world, but no longer violent? Azula sighed. "Yes. “We'll see you and your father for family group?” Azula nodded her head.  Sessions on how to be a teammate in your loved one's recovery. What to expect from treatment. “Have a good afternoon then.”
“Till Wednesday then.” Azula The guard buzzed her through a second set of doors and she went down the elevator.
Her father pulled up as she made her way out of the hospital doors. He opened the door and she climbed in.
“Have you been waiting long?”
“No,”He shook his head. “Service was a bit slow I was afraid I'd be late. “ Azula fumbled in the seat behind her and found the bag from Smokey's Grill, gave a sniff. ”Kabobs?" she guessed.
“Yep.”
Azula pulled out the box and dug in. They turned onto the highway, Azula eating, neither talking.
Her father waited till she had finished most of the meat and salad before asking. “How did it go?”. He tried to keep the hurt out but could not. It was worse for her father than her in many ways. Zuko considered her a “victim” too. Why couldn’t he have picked one of the tales where they were all good?
“I don't know." she answered finally. “They say he's getting better.” There was a brownie as well. Azula bit into it slowly.
“That's what they say."
Azula let the chocolate melt in her mouth.
“Why does he make us bad? Because we survived? Is he angry at me because we survived?” But he had survived the crash as well. Scarred, but survived. “Is that why?”
“It is a disease Azula. The crash make have been a catalyst, but most likely...”
Most likely it would have happened anyway. Maybe later, maybe a friendlier story. “I don’t think we can answer that.”
Azula stared out the window. For almost a year she couldn’t get into the car without crying. “I just want my big brother back.” The big brother who teased her and helped her learn to read. The big brother who fought with her and protected her. The one with the imagination who knew his stories were make-believe.
“I know honey.”
They turned off the highway, wove through the streets, Harper Ct., Fells Lane, Ember Road. Her father pulled into the driveway.
Azula dusted the crumbs from her lap and unbuckled her belt.
“We should have grill when Zuko comes home.”
“Azula ...”
“He is coming home. Someday.”
“Yes. But not for awhile.”
Azula stared down at her hands. “He's still my big brother.”
“Yes he is.” Her father got out his door and came round to her side, opening the door for her. “Come on,” he said. “Does us no good to mope. And don't you leave that trash on the floor!" He mock frowned at her.
Azula grabbed the bag and slid out of the car. Her father dropped his arm over her shoulder and gave her a squeeze. “He'll get better again. He'll come home. It will be alright.”
With the right drugs or treatment, the right level of support. Azula leaned her head against her father's shoulder.
Whatever it took to bring him home.

Why Monkey D. Garp Is The Best Anime Grandpa
In the One Piece anime, we're entering the Reverie Arc. Now, for those of you that don't keep up with One Piece, I'm sorry. I really am. I don't know what you're doing with your time, but I only hope that it makes you happy. But if you don't stay up to date with it, the Reverie occurs every four years, when the various rulers of the nations that exist under the World Government come together to, I don't know, decide stuff. And since the Straw Hat Crew have been island hopping like Instagram celebrities with trust funds for the past few years, they've met a lot of these rulers.
That means that we're gonna get to see Vivi, Rebecca, Shirahoshi, Cobra, Dalton and, sigh, Wapol, among many others. But also, and this is the main reason that I'm excited for it, we're gonna get to see Garp, Luffy's Grandpa, again. We haven't seen him in a while, and that's a shame, because Monkey D. Garp, as far as I'm concerned, is Anime's Best Grandfather. Someone should buy him a coffee cup that says that.
"But Daniel," you say, probably. "How did you get to this conclusion? What scientific method did you use?" Well, I looked at three key areas. And I'll explain them to you now, mainly because it would be weird if I didn't and was just like "Here's my opinion! Now watch Mob Psycho or something. Later!"
HOW DOES GARP STAND APART FROM OTHER ANIME GRANDPAS?
First of all, he stands apart because look at him. If you need to find him in a crowd, just look for the dude with shoulders as wide as most condos. He looks like a man that's done nothing but compete in arm wrestling tournaments for eighty years. But aside from that, Garp doesn't fall into many old man tropes. For example, he's not a pervy senior. His nose doesn't gush buckets of blood when he sees a pretty girl. In fact, as you'll see in the upcoming arc, he accompanies Shirahoshi and Neptune up from Fishman Island just to make their journey more comfortable.  Aww. Good Guy Garp.
And he also doesn't try to shy away from a battle because he's old, or make jokes about just how decrepit he is in order to get you to drop your guard. Garp is perfectly capable of handling himself in a fight, which brings me to my next point:
WE STILL DON'T KNOW HOW STRONG GARP IS
Sure, we hear stories about his time in Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard's era. And yes, he can punch Whitebeard's first division commander Marco out of the sky. And he can also throw cannonballs, which must make him an absolute menace during the Marines' annual Dodgeball Tournament And Picnic. But even still, the question remains: Just how powerful is this dude?
Is he stronger than Luffy? Or how about Rayleigh? We assume that he's not as powerful as Big Mom or Kaido, but again, we're just not sure. He's a Vice Admiral, but he could've easily moved up a few ranks if he wanted to. Heck, when Akainu punched a hole through Ace, Sengoku had to hold Garp back from killing the magma jerk. Could Garp have killed Akainu? We don't know! But probably, as he certainly seemed confident about being able to rip his head off.
That kind of thing is fascinating. One Piece has been going for about twenty years, and it isn't like Garp is just a non-speaking cameo role. The dude's shown up a few times, but we're still endlessly debating who can out-brawl him.
  WHERE DO HIS LOYALTIES LIE?
It's Marineford. A war is going on, and you're on the edge of your seat because Luffy is running up to the platform to save his "brother" Ace from execution. But Garp stands in the way. Garp, who had a hand in raising both of these precocious pirates, has finished talking to Ace about how upset he is that Ace is getting executed, and now he looks like he's gonna punch the rubber out of Luffy (or at least he's making a really good show about it.)
But he turns away. He closes his eyes. Sad music plays and he allows Luffy to punch him. You're crying. I'm crying. Your Dad is crying because you're crying about cartoons. Your Mom is crying because your Dad is crying about you crying and she always wished that she could get into One Piece, but couldn't work up the courage to ask you to explain what a "Grand Line" is. Your dog is crying because pets feel emotions, too. The whole world weeps.
But if Garp was such a career navy man, couldn't he just swat Luffy off the platform? Couldn't he have just strangled Luffy back at Water 7? Couldn't he have just sat in Luffy's way and not let him leave the Windmill Village? Where does Garp the Navy Savior end and Garp the Lovable Grandpa begin?
Garp certainly likes his job, but he takes liberties with it, which makes me wonder if Garp wouldn't be perfectly happy doing something else that would fit into his definition of "the right path." He certainly likes training Koby and Helmeppo, but he could just do that elsewhere, and he wouldn't even have to wear a uniform. He could probably just dress in a Hawaiian button-down and challenge tourists to push-up contests. That seems his speed.
  I LOVE GARP
I do. I think he's great and I think he's one of the most underrated characters that One Piece has to offer. And I hope that whatever character arc he has comes full circle. Garp had a habit of knocking Luffy around, even when Luffy was just a tiny rubber lad, and though it was mostly played for laughs, I think it would be cool to one day see a Garp that has further recognized the mistakes that he's made in child-rearing. Some of the progress is already there, and I believe that Garp could be a great example of the fact that, even though you may be old and set in your ways, you can still change for the better.
So I can't wait to see him again in the Reverie Arc and in any other arc that Eiichiro Oda can toss him into. So keep watching One Piece on Crunchyroll, and keep hoping that, eventually, Brawny Best Grandpa Garp gets the respect and love that he deserves.
Do you also love Garp? Are you excited for the Reverie? Let me know in the comments!
