I totally agree with the mischaracterization of the 4 girls u talked abt! I have noticed it a lot too- and I found it pretty confusing. Like I understand the concept of a certain character not being a yandere, but they gave yandere vibes when they acted a certain way in a particular instance, and the fandom notices that and likes to explore an AU where the said char is a more fleshed out yandere. But for the fandom to respond like that, it's necessary the said char did a yandere-like action in the ACTUAL/OG STORY, which is something I haven't seen any of the girls do? So it's strange how that train of thought came about or what the correlation between the characters' personalities and this interpretation is.

I personally, sort of(?) have an inkling that those folks found the characters appealing, like the saga of many girls desperately obsessed with a single OP guy that they wud go as far as becoming yandere when it comes to him, and projected that desire onto Aether. It's- well, so toxic? But that's just a lil opinion I have abt it so take it as a grain of salt. I also relate w randomnatics on wht they said, tho I wasn't intimidated, I was quite uncomfy when the chars were introduced cuz I thought they were possessive and showed potentially toxic behavior so I wanted to avoid them. I ended up interacting w them and finding out they they were so nice, approachable and made me feel like we were friends from a long time and it was in general, a v comforting vibe.

Anyways that's another long rant dropping into lily's inbox!

ty so much for this rant omg you're so right!! the girls never displayed any yandere characteristics but the fandom just heard a few dialogues and ran with it.

its sad that so many ppl think ayaka is a yandere even before getting to inazuma.
