they go to an aquarium :D!! because childe loves the sea

Syke probs arrived too early cus she's excited smh. Actually, Scara also arrived too early aswell and they both just awkwardly go "hey"

They're just gonna stand there awkwardly for like 30 minutes. But the aquarium is right next to other stores and one of them is a Pet store so they just silently agree to look at pets to pass time.

Once they enter, Scara notices a dog collar on one of the isles. He grabs it and shows it to Syke like "lol u should get this for Childe"

An employee goes up to Scara like "Hey there kid do you want to see the little hamsters? :D"

He starts threatening the poor innocent employee. While that's happening, Syke decided it's time for her to flee- but omg

There was a lil' kitten snuggled up on the corner and she. Couldn't help but pet its head, maybe even rub its ears and tummy and- yeah she's distracted.

"Sir, I need you to calm down and step outside please you're disturbing the-"

"yeah whatever I don't give a shit I was just about to leave anyways-"

He was about to storm out until he remembered that Syke was still in there. He grumbled, a string of curses running under his breath before turning around from the door to find her despite the poor employee's protests.

"H-hey please stay where you are and we can help find your parents-!"

"SHUT UP" Scara's face turned red, either from embarrassment or anger, "I'M A GROWN ASS MAN!"

The employee was stunned, although not really convinced at his statement. Not when his voice suddenly became five octaves higher. By this point, the entire store has all their eyes on him.

'Whose child is that? '

'His parents must be so exhausted taking care of that little thing'

'Poor kid, he must be so scared all alone'

Scara felt like he was about to lose his mind if he hears another whisper. He starts screeching and ran away from the scene, knocking a few items off the shelf from the aisle.

Meanwhile, Syke was still petting the kitten she found. Actually, some other kittens started swarming her, demanding her attention and affection.

"huh, you guys are like Childe-"

"You called? :)"

She screams at the voice behind her, quickly punching them in the face.

"owie :("

"CHILDE WHEN DID YOU GET HERE"

Apparently, he and Lynn arrived not long ago, when they couldn't find them waiting outside the aquarium, they assumed they went to the pet store to pass the time. like they always do on double dates smh

"u-uhm okay" Syke clear puts the kittens away from her lap and stands up, patting off the dust from her clothes. "Sorry for... punching you"

Childe pouts childishly PLS crossing his arms over his chest, "That really hurt y'know >:'("

"I know, I know-"

"So you have to kiss me to make up for it! :D"

"w-what-" Her face turns into a crimson red at the request or rather- a command, slightly backing off away from him.

"C'mon! Just a lil' peck?" He points to his cheek that she punched, leaning towards her, "Over here?"

He stood there waiting for her to comply, only for her to brush past against him, "So where's Lynn?"

Childe was taken aback, letting out an offended noise before he starts whining. He latches on her arm in hopes she'd feel bad for ignoring him.

"waaahhhh you're so me-"

"Did she go in with you? Let's find her."

"nOOOOooOoOo"

Just as they were about to walk away from the swam of kittens (who are still trying to get Syke's attention), they suddenly hear screaming from another aisle. They flinched, processing at the fact that it sounded like Lynn, before quickly running to the place.

There she was, birds swarming over her head as she frantically tries to get them away from pecking her horns. At least three employees were trying to help her calm her down, but their efforts are wasted for their pleas are being ignored.

Childe stepped in first, "H-hey calm down we can-"

"AAAAAA HELP ME PLEASE THEY'RE SENSITIVE"

"ma'am please you're hurting them!"

"I'M THE ONE BEING HURT RIGHT NOW" she wailed, arms flinging around, "GET THEM OFF BEFORE I FILE A ONE STAR REVIEW TO THIS FUCKING PLACE I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL DO IT-"

She completely stills for a moment, before passing out after feeling someone jab her at the side of her neck. The birds once swarming her all calmly flew past the shocked employees, and back to their cages.

"OH SHIT SHE'S DEAD" Childe gasps, before seeing Scara behind her, "oh"

"Let's go" He groans, grabbing Lynn by the collar of her sweater before dragging her away from the place, Childe and Syke quietly follow after.

"Why the hell were birds swarming over your head?" Scara asks as he hands Lynn a bottle of water.

They all decided that they should fix themselves first in a public restroom in a nearby park before going in the aquarium to initiate their actual double date that they lowkey forgot tbh

"Uh, I think they got angry at me because I wanted to touch the eggs?? :D"

She lied. She tried to eat the bird seeds. Either way, Scara thinks she was stupid lmfao

"Anyways" she awkwardly coughs, "that jab really hurt y'know"

"So?"

"You're not gonna apologize for it?"

"nah"

Childe came out of the men's restroom a few seconds later, "Hey gang what'd I miss? :D"

"no"

Syke came out a few seconds after, Childe immediately latches unto her as they start walking away, Scara and Lynn follow after.

"Hey" Scara softly calls after Lynn as soon as both Syke and Childe were a few good distances away from them.

Lynn hums in response, looking back at him with an expectant look. His face flushed a cute shade of pink before he harshly grabs her hand, placing something on it before quickly walking away before she could say anything.

She whips her head towards his figure walking away, "w-wait but-..."

Then she slowly unwraps her hand to see what is in it.

A bird keychain. He must've bought it while they were searching for him back at the pet store.

Lynn smiles at his thoughtfulness... though she's pretty sure she now has a new trauma unlocked from the bird's experience earlier </3.

So when they entered the aquarium, they were greeted by a lady working at the front desk.

"Hello welcome! Thank you for visiting us today, we're actually hosting a new event that will be really enjoyable for your kid-"

"FUCK OFF I'M NOT A KID" Scara screeches, knowing full well that she was referring to him.

Childe: "Can't blame her, bro. You look like a twelve-year-old who falls for the free robux hack clickbaits on youtube..."

Scara: wait they're not real-?

Childe: oh my god.

Lynn:

Syke:

Lynn: "So about that scavenger hunt-"

They end up doing the scavenger hunt event in pairs...mostly because they think it would be a nice little competition between two couples <33 Scara and Childe are very competitive.

"ugh fucking..where the hell is she" Scara grumbles in frustration as he frantically looks around for Lynn, who seemingly disappeared without a trace. A brochure containing all the details of the Scavenger Hunt becoming all slightly crumpled as he grips it in frustration.

"Scara! Scara look look look!" Lynn excitedly exclaims, waving over for him to come over.

Scara huffs, almost letting his anger disappear just at the sight of her being adorable, marches over to her. "Where the hell have you been?!"

Lynn giggled, "I've been here the entire time you dummy...didn't you see me?"

"No you-! ugh whatever, let's just finish this damn game, we're almost at the end of our list" And we're one step away from beating that stupid ginger and his stupid face

"But I found one! Maybe the last one on our list!" She smiles, returning her gaze back to the tank in front of her. Scara squints, tentatively walking towards her.

"I don't see anything on our list that looks exactly like these damned fishes..." He mumbles, clearly growing impatient every second. Lynn nods, "yeah, you're right..."

"What?! So you-"

"I did find something special though!" Lynn interrupts him before he could potentially start scolding her. Scara groans in response, still looking expectantly at the tank to see what it was that she found that was worth distracting them from the competition.

"Hehe...you see that?" she shuffles closer to him, pointing at his reflection gazing back at him, "I found a cutie!"

"w-what?!"

"That's right!" She exclaims, standing up straight once again, "And it's youuu~!"

She boops his nose, causing his face to immediately heat up wildly. "W-wh- you..you can't just-!" He stops as she leans forwards him, a teasing smile adorning her face, "haah...fuck- let's...ugh let's just finish the game...or whatever..."

Scara quickly turns around before he could embarrass himself even more. Lynn runs up to him victoriously, catching his hand in his, and he bashfully reciprocates the action, albeit grip even tighter than hers.

"Hmmm..." Childe hums loudly, tapping his chin lightly as his eyes quickly navigate over from the list, to the fish swimming inside the tank. His eyes glance over to Syke, who stands idly next to him, for a moment, only to realize that she has been just...looking at him.

"Oh? What're you looking at me for, hm?" He snickers, standing straight, shifting his weight to one leg, "Thought we were looking for the fish in the list?" "W-well I was" Syke inaudibly gulped, shifting her gaze somewhere else in the tank beside has as she tries to come up with an excuse, "I was checking to see if YOU'RE doing your job..."

"I am!"

"You haven't found a single thing on the list" Her lips slightly turns up to a smug, "All those checkmarks were mine"

Childe pouts, "C'mon don't be like that! You were- You-"

"mhm"

"I couldn't focus! Your cute face was just distracting me! Yeah, that's right..."

"uhuh"

fuck why is she not affected this time.

Childe recoils himself, clearing his throat as he tries to calm his heart down from the embarrassment feeling bubbling wildly in his stomach. "S-so uhm...which is your favorite fish?"

"Changing the topic huh"

"Shush"

"Anyways" Syke glances at the tank, shuffling closer so she could point out the fish. "There, over there"

"Dawncatcher...?" Childe mumbles, loud enough so he can confirm it. She nods, continuing to examine every move of the fish, as if mesmerized by it. An idea formed in his mind immediately.

"I heard a rumor about them having the mystical ability to predict the weather..." Syke says, slowly looking over to where Childe was supposed to be. To her disappointment, he wasn't anywhere to be seen. Maybe he wasn't interested in-

"Hey girlie! Over here!!" Childe suddenly calls out from the side. She quickly turns around, spotting him immediately climbing on top of the tank with a ladder (she doesn't wanna know where he found it).

"W-wait what are you doing?!" "I'm gonna fight it!" "WHAT?!"

In the end, both of them got kicked out of the place, so they opt to stay at the gift shop to wait for Lynn and Scaramouche. Currently, Syke was trying dry Childe up using his hoodie, since the aquarium refused to give them towels. Understandable.

"So did I win?" For some reason, Childe doesn't seem to read the room, as he still has a cheeky grin flashing over his face. Syke sighs, leaning in to place a small peck on his cheek, "...sure"

He gave her a cheeky smile, to which she returned with a very small and faint one.

"Aw man, did you guys finish before us?" Lynn's voice was heard from the side, completely breaking off the little soft moment they had.

"Nah, we got distracted because someone decided it was a good idea to fight a fish" Syke says, squinting slightly at an offended Childe.

"I fought it for your love!" He exclaims, throwing his hands in the air in exaggeration as if to prove his point. Syke only hums, which makes him whine.

"Hah! looks like I won" Scara huffs, sticking his nose up in the air in pride. Lynn lightly hits his shoulder, as if to remind him of something, "I mean- we won..."

"hehe, yeah we did" Lynn boops his nose, causing his face to become flushed for the nth time today. Before he could even say anything, she suddenly notices oH MY GOD IS THAT A SIPPY CUP-"

"NO I AM NOT BUYING YOU ANOTHER STUPID SIPPY CU-"

He bought her the sippy cup bc ofc he did <33

Childe almost bought Syke literally everything he could find in the shop until Syke has to physically stop him from buying the entire business from them again

anyways they finish their dates on a nice restaurant then they idk go home and burn their house or something according to myra
