I went to bed last night and lazily noted that vanilla extract was the most popular choice in a poll soliciting input on cake ingredients. I thought that would be a rather unpleasant cake if OP ever baked it, smiled, and went to sleep.

This morning I wake up to vanilla extract memes three or four levels deep.
