i'm reading the witness for the dead for the second time and i can SEE the influence on my writing style
#the colour symbolism bro. i am a changed man#i also stole a phrase without realizing. but it's a little bit of a cliche anyway so that's okay#(smile described as 'sudden and dazzling')#also the way pel-thenhior is introduced is SO good. so so so good#simultaneously subtle and blindingly obvious that celehar is attracted to him. i aspire to be able to write like that#i feel like it's premature to say this is my favourite book considering im only reading it for the 2nd time now#and dont usually like to declare something a favourite until ive read it at least twice#but also. it's my favourite book#this is also more like the 2.5th time i'm reading it because after the first time i immediately went back and read large chunks of it again#personal#tin kitchen in the garret#bookposting
