james:

it takes james motormouth potter a while to realize that you're quiet, as mean as that sounds

he's just so used to talking all the time and usually people get bored and zone out when he's talking :(

so when you're not always jumping in with your own thing to say and instead quietly listening to him and engaging silently

he doesn't really pick up that it's you being quiet

he just thinks you're bored

but then like if he brings you around the marauders and you're not pitching anything in

or he stops talking for 2 seconds and you don't add anything he's like ??

he eventually asks you all nervous if he makes you uncomfortable because you seem to always be quiet around him and if there's anything that he did wrong he's so sorry and wants to know how to fix it :(

and you're like nono honey i'm just a little more on the quiet side

once you have this discussion he starts paying a lot more attention to it!!

he's your saving grace bc if someone's talking to you and you're not into it he'll swoop in and start rambling about how amazing the next quidditch game is gonna be and they're walking away as fast as they can

if you prefer silence or calm, he's perfectly happy to just sit there with you

you guys switch off reading to each other so he'll read a chapter while you lay on his chest and then you'll read one while he rests on your tummy :(

probably has a playlist for 'quiet time' and you just let the songs play in the lazy silence

you two can be found avoiding absolutely everyone in the room besides each other at almost any function

if one of you is trapped in a conversation that they're not too fond of you send each other the 'fuck my life' eyes

this man is best friends with james potter

he gets not a single solitary moment of silence at any part of his day

so when you're together and he can!! hear nothing!! woah!!

he takes you down to the black lake a bunch and he'll get you a little boat on the water and you'll just drift around and you're cramped in the tiny boat but you make it work, he lays on you or you lay on him

you just sit in silence and let the atmosphere take over

probably veryyyy into whispering an inch from your face and just talking nonsense and rambling about his day before he goes to sleep

he's tracing little patterns on your tummy and your head is tucked into his chest and you're probably drooling a bit on his shirt and he's murmuring about the weird shit james did at lunch as your eyes drift shut
