Leaving the city is always great. It allows your mind to relax and restart. For my first time in North Carolina, it was nothing less than wonderful experiences. It gave me time to see everything from a different point of view. It gave me an opportunity to get my mind back in the game.

After graduation, I have moments where I question my career, like some us have experienced after completing school. Being in North Carolina and away from my Mac gave me the opportunity to create a plan and find out what I want to do. I gathered a couple of looks for my stay in North Carolina. I wanted to share what I took with me on my travel.

My Mac desktop has become part of my life. Stepping away from it for a few days has me feeling a little overwhelmed. My life is my desktop. Everyday I do things from organizing, planning articles, and anything connected to my blog. My desktop has become my life because for almost four years I sit my butt down to do write assignments for my school. I wouldn’t do half of the things I needed to for my blog because I had assignments which needed to be done. Now that I am done with school I still sit down front of my desktop knowing that I don’t have to be there always. It is a challenge that I am having at the moment. Stepping away a few days from my computer has helped me because I was feeling like a chicken with its head cut off.

First day, I wore my Express One Eleven Burnout Jogger Pant. I love these joggers because they are super comfortable and stylish. It is a great pair of joggers to wear around the house but these were perfect to have for the ride to Greenville, North Carolina. It was about being comfortable in the car. My Bobs from Skechers were comfortable and easy to put on great when you are on the move. You can never go wrong with a denim button up from Romeo and Juliet Couture.

Since I was staying in Greenville,not that far from Raleigh, I had to check out the Remy Ma’s store called Conceited. It was a cute store. I love how bright the store looked. There was a lot of light coming in from the windows. It was well organized. The customer service was spot on. There was a small section for the girls’ fashion. I didn’t purchase any girls’ fashion. Nothing caught my eyes that day so I didn’t get anything for my daughter Anastasia.

Remember, the store has only been open a couple days at the time I visited it. It was opened to the public on the August 20. Almost everything was sold out. I did find some items for myself. I noticed that Remy Ma partnered with Fashion Nova. Fashion Nova is company that located in heart of Downtown, Los Angeles. It has five retail stores in Southern California. They are hugely known for the jeans and many of your favorite celebrities wore their jeans and outfits. They have about 8.6 millions of followers on their Instagram.  I only saw a few items with the Conceited tags on it but most of the items were Fashion Nova. This will be my second time having Fashion Nova merchandise in my closet. (I purchased the Celine Jacket in Black and Crushing Hard Duster in Slate, which I was a little disappointment because I only wore the Crushing Hard Duster for a friend’s birthday dinner and it rip on me. Thank god I have the best cleaners, they were able to fix it for me.) I purchased a pair of Heidi Jeans in medium, So into You Off Shoulder Bodysuit in black/silver, and T-shirt Wrap Dress in dusty Rose. (I have to take the T-shirt Wrap Dress to the cleaners because it is too big on me. I wear a medium and I purchased the dress in a x-large.) The store has everything so you have to look for your size. I love that because the plus sizes and normal sizes are in the same place. It is about making women feel comfortable while shopping, without seeing signs that point out which section they need to be at. The only thing I would recommend is  wrapping the clothes in the red tissue paper and putting a Conceited sticker. It would look a lot cleaner when looking inside the bag.

For my trip to Raleigh, I went with a jumpsuit with a tie waist detail from Asos. It was about wearing something comfortable and easy to take off when trying any clothes at the store. I loved how the jumpsuit flattened my body. As for my sandals, I went with a pair of velvet flat slipper slide sandals from Amazon. Like I told you it was about being comfortable for the drive to Raleigh.

The second day I spent time with my husband’s family. We celebrated his sister’s birthday. We went over his aunt’s house. It is a lovely house that was built in 1940. The house had a lovely porch to take pictures. I wore a lovely pattern of gingham. I purchased this blue print gingham sheath dress from Express if you know me you already know I am huge fan of Express. I’ve been wearing Express merchandise since I was 10 years old. I wore a classic t-shirt from Forever21 under my dress and went with a pair of faux suede slides from Forever21. I went with a vintage belt that matches lovely with the theme of the house.  It gave me a lovely vintage vibe and the look.

My third day was about hunting down those thrift stores. You already know I had to find these thrift stores down South. I had to go check it out. I love thrift shopping because you can find jewels. Before people used overlook thrift stores but it is super popular now that the city has overpriced many of their items. I have been going to thrift stores since I was young so I very pleased to go down there. I recommend wearing leggings and a casual t-shirt or a dress while thrifting. It is about being comfortable and have this ability to try on cloths without obstacles.  I only visited one store called My Sister’s Closet where I found a black leather belt with a gold buckle detail (I paid 0.20 cents.) and a Jones New York Signature faux leather jacket with a two tones color (I paid 10 dollars.). I enjoy My Sister’s Closet. It was nice and clean. It was definitely well-organized and I love that it didn’t have a funny smell because some thrift stores smell weird.

After leaving My Sister’s Closet my husband and I couldn’t find the Goodwill thrift store but we ended up in a small boutique called bevello.  It was a lovely boutique in Greenville, NC. bevello launched their first store in Raleigh, NC in April 2009. bevello is spell with a lowercase b.  This quote from their About Us, “bevello (with a lowercase “b”) is a one-of-a-kind boutique that focuses on providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. bevello promises to give you the respect you deserve and the help you need, all while making your time with us a fun, no-hassle experience. I really enjoy this boutique. It is a super fashionable boutique. It was well organized. My husband and I received wonderful southern hospitality from Jordan Pulido. She was lovely girl. I was loving her hair. She was rocking that hair. She give us true southern hospitality. I purchased a Thread & Supply Reversible Bomber Jacket, French Connection Sweater, and Cupcakes and Cashmere suede/fur vest.

On my journey to both stores, I went with A-line pleated skirt which I wore for my birthday dinner. I added a black belt with a gold bucket from Express. My black graphic t-shirt of Selena from Forever21 was the perfect shirt to pair making my look super casual. I went with a pair of low-top canvas sneakers from Forever21. It was all about checking out those store.

Overall, I loved the experience of North Carolina for my vacation and visiting my family. I can’t live down there. I am more of  a city chick. I love the fact that I can go to a store at any time of the day and night. I will be returning to My Sister’s Closet, Conceited, and bevello next year.
