#kingdom hearts#you can’t separate light from darkness#bad feelings from good feelings#there’s no such thing as pure light or pure darkness within people#which is what ymx doesn’t seem to understand#he thinks because people have dark within them that the light within them is false#but that light wouldn’t be light without darkness to define it. like hot and cold#you can’t label specific feelings or people as all good or all bad#and such labels are arbitrary. in the end it’s not what you are but what you do that matters#his big plan almost feels like religious extremism. playing judge jury and executioner#except in his eyes everyone is damned and unworthy of salvation. everyone is impure#and summoning the big kh is like bringing on judgement day#but… the only one who really decides whether you’re worth saving or not - worth any good or not - is yourself#it’s your choice and that’s one of the reasons i really like that ven lets vanitas go here#he respects vanitas’ choice even if he doesn’t agree with it#and it hits especially when you think about how little agency ven has had over his own life#he understands while sora doesn’t#even though they both share this feeling of ‘i never asked for this!’#idk I’m rambling#i just really like this scene
