I think western fandom should start separating top/bottom ship tags like the East Asian fandoms do (see: narusasu v. sasunaru) coz why tf is there weird t/b discourse under every ship art 😭 I just saw a bunch of “isn’t gojo the bottom” under a stsg tiktok compilation and I’m like ??? Shut up. But part of this issue is because all ship dynamics fall under one umbrella ship name so users can’t really curate their experience? If sugusato and satosugu were two completely different tags then the western shipping experience would be so much more convenient imo. You can even do a “STSG no difference” or “GoGeGo” equivalent tag for 50/50 switch dynamics? I feel like westerners are too scared to seem homophobic for showing a preference in t/b dynamics in FICTIONAL ships that they lump everything together butttt still maintain a preference deep down and will vocalise their discomfort when other users interpret their ship differently??

TLDR: just make ship names reflect the t/b dynamic of your ship pls.
