writing an incomprehensible rant about aou’s symbol of akio’s paintings and also butterflies haha and um hey guys who else is immensely normal about what aou in particular has to say about victimblaming and rape culture and the mystification of suffering and

#the codification of anthy’s abuse as a palatable fairytale hee personhood as an allegorical role #*her #it’s so innately dehumanising and exploitative and like.. the aestheticism. like they’re PAINTINGS. fine fucking art #the shot in aou where all the paintings shift into that one large image of anthy…….. enough to make me start killing #and it’s just like. tldr i think it’s interesting how anthy’s victimhood is weaponised in a ‘palatable’ way #ie the fantasy of prince saving princess #and that’s like immortalised in akio’s paintings and no one knows the truth of it #that idea in conjuncture with touga and butterflies and the story of the drowned boy. which i also have a lot of thoughts about #it’s about. shame. actually. it’s about the removal of the abuser from the mythology the focus on the Victim (awful word)#and the portrayal of them as someone to be pitied someone weak someone shameful someone lacking dignity #< what happens when you aren’t that. how do you play the part. how do you conceal the truth. alienation and cynicism and secrets #and the gender difference of it all like idk man i just think. anthy touga parallels are most interesting where they differ #anyway #shut up daisy #rgu
