#ok vent post time#is there literally amy other industry#where you're expected to uproot your entire fucking life#and move jobs every three years#or you're not 'progressing your career'#???#academia is so fucking broken#i am happy in my job and doing good work and want to stay in it#and my boss thinks im doing good work amd it wpuld benefit him if i stayed#but somehow i have to leave#because there's no fucking money#and he sells it as learning something new on a new environment#you know what?#that new environment will still be there in a couple of years#when ive actually finished and published the project im working on#but nope#theres no money so ive got 5 months left#to continue working on a really important and interesting problem#thats now probably never going to get published#what a waste of everyone's time#i have given so much to this lab#and it sucks so much to end it like this
