I’m sorry but Michelle Williams is such a boring actress, why is she constantly nominated for awards? And the obsession the Oscars have for biopics is so annoying, the performances should be about acting, not impersonating.

I haven’t seen fablemans yet but while there are some really great things in the noms as a whole, aside from Cate Blanchett and Michelle Yeoh, best actress is a mess with Viola and Danielle being shut out, Ana being nominated for a film I refuse to watch that shamelessly exploits Marilyn (the director's quotes about her are hateful). I haven’t seen Andrea’s performance and from what I understand Michelle W should have been supporting. There are no female directors. Biopics are very formulaic (hoping Oppenheimer is diff; but will mainly be watching for Cillian). Elvis was…not good imo altho Austin gave a great performance but the whole fake voice thing for campaigning is weird and if Lisa Marie’s death gets exploited…just gross. Thank goodness Stephanie Hsu was nominated, really wish Dolly de Leon in triangle of sadness was too, but glad it got a lot of noms. A lot of the BP noms are solid (really want to see Women Talking and thank goodness it got noms) and foreign is good minus the decision to leave omission. I also love that best actor is all first time nominees.

But anyway I’m just so happy for Paul! Aftersun was amazing and his nom is so deserved (would have been great to see Charlotte get screenplay or the film get more). The things his fam have posted and he’s posted with Frankie are so pure 😭
