keitarou and rena's kid have a pretty similiar dynamic to rena and keichi, unsurprisingly. Kihiro painstakingly waits for him to go to school together, keitarou teases him because funny, etc. Keitaru is more of a genki boy than keichi though and kihiro, well he has this hilarious gimmick where he yells that's a lie!!!!!!!

Sakiko I would say is my favorite out of the new gen characters, while tamaki is the worst. This is based on my previous half complete reading of the manga. Kihiro is also potentially interesting. Keitarou is just Keichi 2.0 and tamaki is...as you see

Actually taking my crack theory seriously ._.

Now you see where this theory is going. Vier is a time traveler. Now, you’re probably wondering how.

You see let me first explain how Vier is Miyao’s mother. So, basically we know from Hirguashi that Tomitake and Takano are related and you know that Vier and Toujirou are similar. MHM.

There’s also stuff about Toujirou hitting on Jestress who has a similar design which will be brought up again later. Seshat also told Toujirou that his wife is doing what she likes or something of the sorts (I lost my notes..BUT YOU CAN CHECK YOURSELF.) Vier is doing this wisdom thing and its probably the thing she enjoys.

The point is that Vier = Miyao’s mom. Okay. This is important.

Now you know where we talk to blue miyao and there’s like this narrator who talks to miyao, you know the person who PROBABLY made his program. Yeah. The person who talks to miyao // the programmer says these words “My adorable Miyao” which is the same line that his mother uses at the ending scene. YES so we forged a sort of connection.

NOW NOW his mother says things like “to stop this world from happening” which could mean time traveling. Miyao was created for this purpose was hinted by blue Miyao. Also the fact that his mother knows the future is kinda suspicious.

Now now you’re probably wondering, what if everyone is dead and this is a simulation some sorts. Ok it is a simulation. But, why would miyao’s mother make an AI in order to stop this. There has to be a reason. So it’s possible that factory hell hasn’t happened yet.

Now Now, here’s the real kicker. JESTRESS. Now now, she looks like vier. Right? You know a literal younger version of Vier. Tojirou literally hits on her, which basically confirms that her looking like vier is no red herring.

Ok so basically Jestress is a younger version of Vier possible from this timeline (or even time traveled herself.). She also wants to save humanity.  Vier who time traveled and gave birth to miyao to stop the factory scene.

Now now about the factory scene itself. The person suffering in it is unknown. But it’s possible it’s Vier. Or specimen LD3105. His mother knows of this experience in first person, so that supports it’s her. Now Now, you’re probably wondering about the brother. It’s not like Satoko (aka vier) has an older brother... Wait she does. Satoshi!

So it’s either a: the factory scene has happened more in the future or I guess there’s 3 of em. I guess it supports how Jestress wants to stop humanity and knows some sort about fate. (I don’t know who’s the 3rd though.)

Anyways there’s things on how Vier created the dressing coversion and other sorts which she could of ripped off from the future.  Anyways thats my ted talk. I’m probably wrong. But. keep my crack theory in mind.

adding onto the pile of posts about higurashi gou im sure but i finally got around to watching it because i remembered sotsu was next week ! and i did watch the whole thing in 5 days so that is definitely going to effect my memory of events but its definitely like... well... a lot to think about. i might write something more structured later but for now miscellaneous thoughts under the cut?

ive been sitting on it for a day but i cant decide if i like it or hate it .. the more i think about it the more ive kind of decided the general concept is okay . like i think higurashi is a complete story that doesnt really need a continuation in the first place but going into the concept of a second looper and also someone thats just started looping is interesting ! since by the time higu starts rikas already gone through 100 years... its interesting to think of how she might have acted in those first years

and as much as i hate post canon storylines where the friend group splits up i liked the idea of satoko searching for a timeline where rika doesnt leave etc etc. like the whole thing sounds decent if nothing else i guess

i think i have problems with understanding the character motives... and for me it was really hard to get to grips with the pacing. (tht being said i started with the visual novel and im not that big on the original anime in comparison bc of the pacing so like... it was always going to be like this on some level)

i wish the first 3 arcs were done differently first off, im not sure if i would have wanted them to be shorter or what. maybe keep onidamashi the same but for the next two arcs i think i would have preferred if we were more focused on rikas perspective as she realises that even making the right choices isnt preventing her death... i felt like i couldn't tell what rika was thinking in those arcs for the most part?

after that... ... i need like another day or two to think about satoko. watch this space. i did feel sorry for her though even if i thought her arc was kind of. uhm. well. theres a lot going on there for sure.

what bothered me about satoko though is how overpowered she seems even in comparison to rika like i get the lambadelta nod with the certainty thing but like. ok the main thing is i found it frustrating that takano, whos will to carry out the events of the original series was explicitly so unshakable that rika never had a loop where she wasnt killed by her (times other people got to rika first notwithstanding) for 100 years, but it was dealt with... so easily for satoko? and yet im expected to believe rika wants to go to st. lucia so desperately that she goes in every single loop and nothing satoko can do stops that... i know its plot reasons i can handwave some stuff for plot reasons but ugh. it annoys me. it feels like a lot of higurashis rules just no longer apply in general

i had a lot of things to like about it i do actually like the art style... i love the voice acting as always... the op/ed is killer... i actually really enjoyed watching the last third even though i dont like the general storyline! but im just kind of feeling like it was a wasted opportunity in many measures

i was thinking the redeeming of teppei and titus ko was to show how fucked up this arc is truly suppposed to be . people are dying without any escalation towards their bad behaviour of others. it’s like ryukishi is saying “YOU WANTED THE VIOLENCE BACK? YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD ABOUT THAT!“

takano didn’t get the happiest of endings but she got a satisfying ending where jirou didn’t reject her and he stayed by her side even after all that. in the end that’s all she wanted anymore. everyone else turned their backs on her but to her all she needed was jirou to stay and he did. i’d say that’s happy for her.

shockingly, im not mad at the child with a gun. i am disappointed with the people pointing at the child with the gun who has been abusing, drugging, murdering, stealing, and justifying all this shitty behavior with 'uwu smol bean'.

You can absolutely enjoy the character, i think her character is pretty good for an antagonist, i dont think you could have continued higurashi in any other way, and i dont think Bern would have happened naturally if Rika left off after the first arc. But the amount of people i have seen justifying and identifying with Satoko is...eeh... not really a good merit of your own critical thinking skills. Its the exact same issue people have with Rick and Morty and Bojack Horseman. Youre NOT supposed to relate to them, they are put there as a show of what NOT to do.

Idk, i think its super neutral and evil to acknowledge that perhaps this child is being violently selfish and is willing to abuse her "best friend" to get what she wants, with no care or regard to what her friend wants or feels, and thats extremely abusive and fucked. I went to a different highschool from my best friend as we had different paths and educational needs in life, but you know what i did? i fucking made new friends, my introverted ass made new friends. AND kept in contact with my best friend since elementary school, we still talk, damn near daily. Shockingly it took 0 torture to do it, no abuse, no gaslighting, no drugging people. Same with my boyfriend if you want to go the "uwu but lesbians" route, we talked and dated from different high schools, wild i know.

The fact that she exists is not bad, that she's a villain isnt bad either.
