the way people talk about it somehow made this difficult for me so i only this week found out that on linux literally every graphics processor uses the same standardized open source driver. amd cards and integrated intel gpus and the proprietary little broadcom thang in a raspberry pi all just use The Mesa Driver. which makes it even more ridiculous that nvidia makes its own proprietary driver. not only is everyone else fine with developing for an open source driver, theyre LITERALLY all collaborating on the same one, except for nvidia
