i just finished reading the crooked kingdom

i could go on and on about how much i loved the ending (the final chapter(s) featuring inej 1. being gifted the ship of her dreams 2. reuniting with her parents and 3. exacting revenge on per haskal and ensuring he lives the rest of his life in fear and misery .....????? DELICIOUS)

but at the moment i’m also just sitting here thinking about how beautiful and unique and masterfully crafted inej and kaz’s romance was.... like ever since the scene when he kisses her should i was really like god damn .. i felt the yearning in the pits of my soullll bitch i FELT IT DEEP INSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kaz who wants inej more than he can even bear to say but because of his trauma physically cannot touch her or be close to her the way either of them want, and inej who has held onto her faith and opened her heart to her friendships despite the abuse she endured at the menagerie ... like she knows exactly how he’s feeling they understand each other like no one else does

and i love how she is willing to fight for him but she won’t waste her life trying to save him...their final scene together was just so fragile and beautiful and it truly could have gone one way or the other but when it said kaz wasn’t wearing his gloves i just knew i just KNEW kaz would open himself up to her and i was like YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! OPEN UR HEART BITCH OPEN UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and it just so nicely parallels the scene in six of crows where inej is like "i will have all of u or i will have none of you" something like that and kaz is basically like .. well .... im in love with u but fuck that .... but when inej came to the dock to see kaz for what she thought would b the last time, all ready to end things for good, kaz is there gloves off bearing all of her heart’s greatest desires and then inej is like ... so are u gonna help me destroy the scum of the earth or what and he’s like ... yea sure.. i just ... wow ........ powerful stuff
