have done word of the day three times in a row ! though its more like tweet of the day now so twitter needs to stay up so i can practice reading what random people on the internet say.
#also#was thinking i should clarify how much japanese i actually know because i get worried i give off the impression that i know more than i do#i did some like basic self study for a while before taking 2 semesters of class#basically ending right before the 'intermediate' level started#unsurprisingly lost steam afterwards because im lazy#i basically cant read unless its spelled out in hiragana or in common kanji and can only really understand common/simple words and phrases#and thats only if its clear/slow enough#but i can notice when subtitles change meanings/nuances from the original audio sometimes which is fun#and when we were watching a japanese movie with irls i was able to parse a single piece of text bc it was in hiragana and my irl was impres#ed#but like in a 'wow you do actually understand something' way lol cos all i really do otherwise is pick out isolated words
