Something about Princess Tutu

Time for funny facts. Princess Kraehe’s name is actually driven from the name Claire. The way Japanese misspronounce the English name Claire sounds something like ‘kureeru’. Somehow this ended up changing the name spelling into “Kraehe”, probably to sound/look more like ‘kureeru’.

I remember some older fansubs had the original script where they used “Claire” in their translations, but I’m not sure if they use it in the English dub (not watched).

Personally, I’d like Claire more. Kraehe is not bad, but it’s just a bit weird. It literally means nothing, is not a valid name and completely made up. She could as well be named Crowdilia or Kraakudella... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EDIT: So apparently in German language crow is “krähe” (kraehe) which explains the way the name is written. But it still won’t explain why the Japanese pronounce it as Claire (kureeru). “Krähe” is pronounced very differently 🤷

BUT hey, "name does not worsen a woman, if the woman won't the name".

when im watching a show wheres theres like multiple copies of some enchanted antifact or its broken into pieces and you make me try to keep track of who has what piece and then someone has like fakes or something … thats when i have to turn to quora for answers
