He embodied the heightened-awareness of the last quarter of the twentieth century. His passion communicates through his works. His style was eclectic, organic, and one-of-a-kind. Court designed innovative cast aluminum furniture and decorative accessories and tableware. The Arthur Court showroom, first opened in San Francisco at 10 Hotaling Place and later moved to a larger showroom and offices at North Point and Larkin, overlooking Ghirardelli Square. Arthur Court designs were uniquely his own. His work was very popular thoughout the later part of the 20th century. The 2019 San Francisco Fall Show is next week: October 3­–6. Arthur Court (1928 - 2015) was San Francisco original and design legend. The Arthur Court showroom and offices were located at North Point and Larkin, overlooking Ghirardelli Square starting in the early 1970's. Court designed innovative cast aluminum furniture and decorative accessories and tableware. "Alternative metal" was something of a design buzz phrase at that time. Hand sandcast aluminum serve-ware was the new medium for an up and coming generation. These were pieces that required no polishing, but had all of the detail of sterling silver. Court's designs ranged from cast antler chandeliers, chairs, tables and bookcases, to cast aluminum saguaro cactus furniture.
