Gabriel, an angel in love with a demon, went to the angel who very famously also did that, for protection. It's making me emo that Gabriel, literally with nothing to go on, felt safe with aziraphale BECAUSE of his love for crowley!!! Thats what managed to survive the mind wipe: oh, aziraphale loves crowley, and so he is safe. Even when that was the original point of contention between Aziraphale and Gabriel!! He went to the bookshop because he KNEW not only that was where love lived, but where it would be PROTECTED and he was right!! 😭😭😭😭

withswords replied to your post “god being in on their love and shipping the two together is THE...”
i've thought about that So much, getting her two favorites to kiss is the ineffable plan, and really what is any romance centered fiction but that, being a capricious god who invents a cruel world for the purpose of writing about fools in love
YEAH that totally like, retrofits the narration style into a modern setting, that kind of dry indifference into like the fiction writer, where the husbands stop being like mouthpeice characters and now the narrator as god represents the writer? and then that being a less condemning more just, as you say, what is a romance writer anyway? and then its also both authors like less than favorable views of religion being placed into the story while also giving us something reeeal tender, that the book did lack a bit because of their more distant feelings? oh no i feel like i wrote the same sentence three different types but YES! im also all about like gods making worlds for really insignificant feeling reasons, whether its to abandon them cause theyre imperfect or just to ship two things they created like it Slaps every time!!! the cosmic insignificance of it all!
