dayne’s pre-sotr headcanon post

these are all the hcs i never got around to mentioning (or that i was too scared of mentioning) about thg. there’s a lot, including my entire list of victors, sooo. i hope you like listening to me yap.

beetee:

beetee is one of the oldest victors still being trafficked, as a deal with snow to keep his family out of the reaping bowl.

beetee can’t drink alcohol. he physically can, but due to the trauma of having an abusive alcoholic mother, he vomits it all up every time he tries.

for the above: beetee’s mother was abusive before she became an alcoholic as well, the abuse only turned physical though after his dad died and she started to drink more.

beetee’s kill count was three before he went into the arena. it was twelve when he came out. he killed nine people in his games: both from D1, D2, and D4, and the boy from Seven, the boy from Eight, and the girl from Eleven.

he didn’t join the rebellion for about thirty-two years, even though it was offered to him when he survived his games. only when it began to benefit him and the protection of his family did he join.

wiress:

wiress’ best friend, venia ripley, was killed for her involvement in the rebellion. 

wiress used to be referred to as “the songbird” in the capitol due to her love of singing. for obvious reasons, it drove snow completely up the wall.

wiress is fluent in english, polish, and spanish.

she hates the nickname nuts.

she’s pansexual.

wiress isn’t crazy. she doesn’t have any sort of head injury. the trauma of winning her games and killing children to do it did scar her forever, as it does for most victors, but she is not brain damaged. she does hyperventilate, and she does sometimes think she’s back in her games, but it happens less as the years go by. going back into the games caused her to mentally relapse because she was back in an arena, forced into a position where she had to kill people again.

she’s still sometimes trafficked, just not nearly as often as beetee is.

beetee and wiress (together):

beetee and wiress get together during the games of the 55th, after marie won.

they get married in the winter of the 61st.

they have a daughter together, named vena. she’s named after beetee’s great grandmother (vera) and wiress’s late best friend (venia ripley). (i’m still figuring out the logistics of it so whether you will ever actually see this from me is still up in the air, because i think i could do more justice to in an AU, but never say never! keeping this here just in case)

vena was born in the spring of the 63rd. she was twelve during the 75th. (same case as the above)

both wiress and beetee were almost positive the 3QQ twist would be victor’s relatives, and were almost relived when they had to go back in instead.

they have a nine year age gap.

they used to argue far more about the rebellion than they do in later years, because of beetee’s refusal to join and wiress’ involvement in it.

they read each other their vows in each other native language (polish for wiress and spanish for beetee).
