heres why im a tubbo apologist basically

 kid got pulled into being a president at 16,  had to deal with the aftereffects of the land he was just forced into being president of being blown up, his own trauma of being exucuted, problly the trauma of living under that whole schlatt administration, the multiple wars hes been though, got basically forced to exile his best friend after his land and people were threatened by literal god, and theres more.  and. honestly even though im a techno apologist, and i dont think that the butcher party was the best thing for them to come up with, techno did cause the death of a lot of people including himself, spawned withers in there, of course the kids not gonna like him much - and remember all of this stuff had happened in only a few years/months depending on how you see the time stuff in the dream smp

and he isnt like schlatt, at all really.  he didnt want to exile tommy, he made a hard decision, and did it for his country.  maybe it wasnt the best decision, but how the hell was the kid supposed to know that? literally every single government offical that he could have as a role model fucked everything over.  not to mention dream was basically manipulating him into thinking that exiling tommy was the best idea.  schlatt on the other hand exiled wilbur and tommy for basically just breathing and that was basically it (well, wilbur was planning on being a dictator but so was schlatt so.)  thats kinda why im not a big fan of tubbo + schlatt parallels (same thing with wilbur + tommy parallels) personally, but thats more of a nitpick than anything
