Dear lord, he’s naked! I would have to say, this design is just wacky enough I don’t think it would really meet the standards of anthropomorphic design of today. It’s a shame, because I would love more interesting ancient designs to interpret. However, as it stands, it barely reaches a kind of desire to remake this, but also I don’t know enough of 18th century Tibetan art to fully understand it.

Interesting choice of design here. I mean it seems to have enough anthropomorphic design changes to a turtle to make it explicitly in between animal and human.Yeah, this is furrybait. Sure, why not?

You’re telling me this is Ovid’s Metamorphoses and it includes this? I thought this was Arnold Friberg, and if it were, I would almost cry in pain. It’s mainly the costume here reminding me of his work, but that’s besides the point. I like this education and anthropomorphization of the stag here. This is furrybait.

Consider the lobsters considered. I would have to say not wuite. They’re getting there, and I see the notion you’re building on this, but I would have to disagree on their furbait qualities. They’re just lobsters with lobster outfits, not human features. The closest we have here is of the Stebbins Grill matchbook here. Even then, there’s only human legs, not really much of a human face or a blend. I think that’d be difficult to pull off well, anyway.

Without a doubt in my mind, these two are completely furrybait. The way Norman has more features to make him more anthropomorphic help seal the deal. He's not just a bug that can walk on two legs. He's a bug with hair! As for Furryosa, it's pretty clear that she's furrybait. It's part of her name. It's almost like the creators saying "here's your obligatory furbait character in this visual novel."

Yes. Without going into detail, he's got features that I know Mod Vaan specifically likes on a character, and I'm partial to it, too. I feel if the caption were simply "Alone on a Friday night? God, you're pathetic," I wouldn't question it, just like that one postcard/music box design of a cat singing 'I don't know where I'm going..." I would love to dive deeper into this anthropomorphic animal marketing thing of the early 20th century.

She is such a refined lady. Once again, the matchbox furries seem to be perfectly what captures a certain niche. This is a great tool for advertising, especially back in the day when smoking was medically encouraged, as everyone needed something to light fire in easy access.
