Maybe this is a weird complaint, but I noticed the major female characters in Digimon lately have been famous in some way.

Like with Ghost Game, Ruri is an influencer, and in AppMonsters & Xros Wars they were idols.

In the older series the only thing similar was that Ruki/Rika from Tamers was like a card game champion, but it wasn’t like it was central to her character.

Idk, is it just a way to connect with the times easier? Or is it part of an elementary boy’s fantasy of being friends with a celebrity girl? Like why this decision?

When digimon frontier love hit you hard and whant to give the kids new clothes (only did Takuya and Izumi)

I enjoy thinkin on what Izumi would wear since after being in the digital world with a skirt /? she would wear more practical clothes?

I didnt know what to give to Takuya, while I was doddling him I tought of Yuujin (appmonsters) you can see how bad im designing clothes guys

After finishing my rewatch of Tri, the next two anime on my list to watch were Digimon Universe Appmonsters and that ballroom thing.

I decided to try Digimon Universe first because it’s long but, with my bad experiences with the later Digimon series, I figured I would know right away whether I liked it and wanted to continue or not.

........I liked it.

Seriously. Why isn’t this more popular? Does anybody else watch this show?!

(Well, the first episode was great anyway and you should watch it.)

Edit: After watching them use the Appmon chips, it suddenly dawned on me that some folks may think it’s a Yokai Watch ripoff. Particularly kids who don’t know what Digimon is. But.... Digimon... !!

i dont know if digimon can come back with youkai watch being really really big

yeah, too many competitors. just heard that appmonsters didn't do well as expected. i don't know well how yokai watch is doing after 3 but... Even excluding Pokemon and Yokai Watch, there are ygo, vanguard, Duel Masters and tons of TCGs for kids. For video games there are too many games they can play on 3DS and smartphone. For toys... well, even Pokemon and Yokai Watch toys are selling well. And there are always new anime-toy franchises coming up every year.One critical problem is that Digimon doesn't really cover up for lil girls. I doubt there are many preteen girl who's into Digimon, while Pokemon and Youkai Watch has rabid kiddie fangirls too.This business is about taking candies from babies and their parents and I don't really think Digimon's very good at that now. Just having old otakus won't be really helpful here.

No offense, but I think “Digimon universe Appmonster” has even dumber writing then Xros War.

The example would be the episode where an entire world stop celebrating Christmas because a Digital calendar say that 25 December does not exist.

25 December comes after 24 December, It an universal truth that can not be denied by some app so it was really stupid when everyone accept that 26 December comes after 24 December because that what an app says.

Seriously, it feel like Appmonster and Xros war written by amateurs writers who thinks they can write whatever crap they want because Kids will never understand a thing.     

We need more better written Digimon series like Digimon Adventure.
