For my first April Artathon entry, I chose Dimentio! There were many reasons: 1) two people requested him - @jokerjay779 and @randomrabbidramblings​ ; 2) this is technically yesterday’s drawing, so it’s thematic for April Fool’s Day, and 3) I thought it best to start with a character I’d drawn before. Although it’s really been a while, hasn’t it? 

I had a lot of fun with this and was impressed with how quickly I got it done. Wow, I haven’t had much fun drawing in months! Maybe it’s coming back!

A compilation image of the April Arathon project I participated in, created by @resbit​! I’ve been posting these over on my side blog @bramble-scramble​ as I do them.

Each of these was made in 30 minutes, and they were all requests. The idea was to do one every day in April, but it ended up taking me twice as long due to these past two months being quite eventful for me with IRL stuff (did you know I’m engaged now?). Still, it was a great experience that taught me (or reminded me) a lot about my relationship to art, so I hope to repeat it every year!

Artathon #16 is Vivian for @mellowgoop ! Since she’s a relatively simple character I’ve drawn before, I went wild with the coloring. Unsure how I feel about the results but I had fun :D

Ta-daaa! Our last "April" Artathon is THE ONE AND ONLY Phantom of the Bwahpera, for @bowletta! I saved him for the grand finale!

April Artathon #12 is the Skylander, Fire Kraken for @minnesotamedic186​ ! This one was a challenge for 30 minutes; I definitely feel like I ran out of time but I did my best and hope you like it :D

Next Artathon entry is Sir Daniel Fortesque for @turquoisephoenix! My brain couldn't pick an action pose I trusted myself to draw in 30 minutes, so uh... sometimes you just gotta sit on a giant pumpkin and have a think

Getting back into the swing of Artathon after a busy week, with another 30-minute challenge! This time it's PS2 era Ratchet for @kokorogensou ! I should not have been so determined to get a gun in there lol

Next up on April Artathon: @joshnickerson requested Cranky Kong, so I decided to do my first pass at Movie Cranky! I love the take on him as an aloof and sly king! I was sweating a bit in the 30 min timer on this one, but still managed to give it basic colors.

April Arthathon #6 is the hero of Tunic! I should give this game another shot; it was super cool, just more demanding than I expected and was in the mood for at the time. For @EbornIan !

Next on April Artathon is Boom Sonic for @VidEditorLogan ! I've drawn Sonic like twice before in my life so I hope this is ok :P I like this design because I'm a sucker for anyone with a bandana. And sometimes you go so fast you gotta tape your shoes on, y'know?

The first April Artathon of May (shush) is Moushley for @JordanFreemanTW ! As far as weird fan trends go, this is one I embrace. Even if I'm a poser since I can't actually stomach horror games.

The next Artathon entry is Parrot from Pop'n Music for @12Toad234 ! I guess my theme tonight was bow tie guys.

Our next 30-minute Artathon entry is the Lord of Games for @Catcupcake64 ! I love him and I love Nuts & Bolts, fite me (jk please don't, just enjoy the art. Or not).

Next up on Artathon, we have "a realistically-proportioned crocodile" for @spmcomic ! It's been a while since I tried any realism. I could feel my brain expanding...

Next up on the 30-minute Artathon is Marx for, fittingly, @Galactamarx !! Wanted to challenge myself to work quickly with shapes and gradients... and even had time to throw in a spacey background for impact. Not bad!
