Ardency Mini Devlog: June 2023
Checking in here to go over a few things! I don’t have the BIG announcement yet, I hopefully will get that out in the main June devlog on itchio. Some things I have left to do and things I have completed are listed below:
Completed-
-All editing
-Claudin’s voice lines edited
-Characters shared portion of the extended demo programmed
-Contacted all voice actors needed for their lines
To Do:
-Program, program, and more programming
-Sort out what new art assets I will need
-Resize necessary sprites to fit height comparisons
-Organize and prep future posts

Mini Devlog:
Just updated the code for Ardency: HotR's demo and Roped In last night. No new content was added besides some back-end bug fixes.
I will have some wonderful news to share within the next few weeks though!

Update Post
Hello! Dropping in with a quick update to go over what work has been done as of recently.
First and foremost, I am writing and focusing on the script. Moira's route is nearing completion as I begin working on chapter four. After her route I will be focusing on selecting, organizing, and sending out voice lines to actors.
Once that is done, I will be working on compiling references for all the extra art assets I need: new character sprites, expressions, outfits - you name it, I probably need it!
I am looking forward to getting all the pieces of the puzzle so I can finally start coding and putting the game together. I am pacing the workload to take us into the new year and up to the spring. Ardency's tentative release date will fall somewhere in Spring 2024 to itch.io. I will also be releasing the game to Steam at a later date.
I will keep updating and actually post more regularly over on my twitter so feel free to check me out there!

Hello and welcome to the first devlog for Ardency: Heart of the Rebellion! Since the release of the demo it's time to go through a few things, answer a few questions, and elaborate on what's to come!
First off, I would like to thank everyone who has downloaded, rated, and expressed interest in the game's demo! I really appreciate it.
There will be a few fixes coming out in the upcoming weeks to just make the quality a bit better (sound fixes, GUI issues, grammar that may have been missed, etc.)
On to answering some questions! I love getting tumblr messages or answering tweets, so feel free to ask whatever you'd like over there. Here are some quick answers to some popular questions:
Will this be a commercial game?: Yes, after full release the game will be a commercial game, but as of right now the planned price is $9.99.
Will there be NSFW/18+ content? No, there will not be explicit content within the main game. I am planning on DLC post-game for the characters, similar to what was done for Snips & Snails. For Claudin, Kasanov, and Moira there will be OPTIONAL nsfw content within that DLC. As for Artie, as he is asexual+panromantic, he will not be getting any explicit content, yet will still receive a DLC story.
When is the next update?: I am working hard to put out some more content for you all! The next large update will be the extended demo that will contain A LOT more content. For smaller updates on progress, I post a lot on twitter.
For any other questions, whether about characters, lore, etc. feel free to send my inbox a message on tumblr or shoot me a tweet.
Besides that, I'd love to hear about any headcannons about the characters, opinions, and thoughts so far about the demo! I loved creating these characters and hope you all love them as much as I do.

End of the Month Devlog/March Recap:
Hey all! Just dropping in to look back on March and go over all the work that has been done. So Snips & Snails has been officially wrapped up with all the DLCs added to the Steam build. There were a few errors and ups and downs, but we finally got everything running smoothly over there. We also managed to get our positive review rating on Steam, which is a big help!
Looking to the future, there is a lot of work to be done for Ardency. The main cast sprites are ready to go along with the rough draft for the mini demo script. I will be spending the next month working on rewrites, edits, and preparing the script to be better suited for coding into Ren’py. I also have commissioned the custom GUI, a redesigned logo, and at the end of this week- the first batch of CGs. April and May are going to be BUSY months for me. I’d love to get the demo out for the Otome Jam, but I refuse to rush and will avoid crunch at all costs.
I am also going to work a bit harder at keeping up with the other social media accounts for Lacydigital Studios (starting with this tumblr post!) I currently am most active over at Twitter for daily updates.
Other News:
Snips & Snails is on sale on both Steam and Itch.io. (There is a free Steam Key included with your purchase from itch.io!)
There will be some more important news posted on my twitter next month, so key an eye out for it!

Ardency is still in development
I am hopping to get the demo out sometime in May, but that is not a definite

April 14- Short Devlog:
Hey all! Just a quick recap on what’s been going on this month. I have made a decent amount of work on Ardency: Heart of the Rebellion’s demo! A large portion of the script is programmed in, but as I am very meticulous about the sfx and music, it’s gonna take me awhile.
The demo itself is shaping up to look very good! I have some cool effects added and am really trying to focus on immersion. It is amazing seeing the characters finally on screen also!
Looking forward from today:
I am currently ill, but will try to get more of Ardency’s demo finished.
I have shown interest in adding partial voice acting to the game. Once I can figure out an exact budget, I will begin a casting call and accepting auditions.
Snips & Snails is still up on Steam and Itchi.io.
