i decided to unite my love for maps and for OT and make a map of the distribution of OT contestants from OT 2017 - 2023 in regards to their residence* because i find it so fascinating, like yeah it does kinda follow where major urban centers concentrate but also why is there so little people in valència? so many in iruña specifically? how is that outside madrid the only other OT contestant from castile is from guadalajara from all places???

*I followed the locations from the wikipedia page; in OT it's necessary to reside in spain but you don't need to have the spanish nationality to participate so i'll add the nationalities when needed!

Primeras nominaciones en ‘OT 2020′

Tras la primera semana en la Academia, los 16 participantes de Operación Triunfo se enfrentarán este domingo en La 1 a sus primeras nominaciones. El talent musical presentado por Roberto Leal vivirá una gala repleta de novedades en la que el favorito del público tendrá un privilegio que le supondrá una ventaja respecto al resto de sus compañeros. Además, el programa producido por RTVE en colaboración con Gestmusic Endemol contará con las actuaciones en directo de Vanesa Martín y Danny Ocean.

Los participantes de OT 2020 abrirán el programa cantando un medley de los mejores temas de Marisol. So, as Skam España loves including OT songs in their soundtrack (which is amazing, keep supporting new talent my loves), I’m gonna try and guess which songs from OT 2020 (and other editions that just weren’t in the last seasons) are most likely to appear in Season 3, let’s see how many I got right at the end of the season!!!

(also I know I’m making this post the day before 3 more singles come out, so I’ll try to update it with any new singles they release before the season comes out)

Salté or Volver a Mí, by Anne Lukin: Maybe it’s because it’s my favourite contestant of OT 2020 and I will die if one of these songs get into the Soundtrack of the season, but I believe these songs are perfect for the themes of Amira’s season: “Salté” talks about taking a “leap of faith”, jumping into something new, while “Volver a Mí” talks about finding oneself after losing yourself.

Gracias X Venir, by Ariadna: “Al Santo Equivocado” would have been so fucking good for Nora’s season (maybe she can still sing it in her youtube channel 🤞🤞🤞), but “Gracias X Venir” fits in Skam España in general tbh, it’s basically a “thank u next” type of song.

Miénteme Lento, by Eli Rosex: This song was born to be in a party clip. I don’t make the rules.

Calma, by Flavio: The beginning part would be great for a prayer scene, or just the start of a clip where Amira is in her room, well, “calmed”, just like the song title suggests. And then, the chorus could fit well in a happy clip, maybe after a clip with Spanish Yousef (aka Dani) where she’s just beaming and beautiful and in love.

Oxitocina or literally any Chica Sobresalto song: Please, Movistar +. Give some publicity to the ray of sunshine that is Chica Sobresalto aka Maialen Gurbindo. Please. She deserves it. And her songs are fucking amazing, and often mind-blowing. I don’t know how they would fit in a particular scene, but honestly, I’d write one just to fit one. My favorite song of hers is Navegantes, but honestly, any will do.

Me Iré, by Anaju: Again, this song would’ve worked perfectly for Nora’s season. The lyric video even has a black and white theme, and the title translates to “i’ll go away”. Please, make Nora sing this in her channel at least. In Amira’s season it could simply serve as a background song for a sad clip or something like that.

And now, apart from OT 2020, other songs I would like / expect to see are:

Any new songs by María Escarmiento, like Chulo, during a party clip.

Maybe Me Quedo, by Lola Índigo and Aitana? Or any songs from those two separately.

I honestly think Damien could have one of his songs featured, he seems to make music that fits the Skam vibe, like maybe Perfect. 

Any of Natalia Lacunza’s new songs, I mean, two of her songs already featured in the last season, but she keeps just making bops, there’s anything you can do about that. Maybe Olvídate de Mí?

It’s a disgrace that no Alba Reche song has appeared in the soundtrack, honestly. A complete and utter disgrace. Any song will do, even Medusa in a party clip. My favorite is either Aura or Niña, but, as I said, any will do.

Why the fuck there’s not a single Miriam Rodríguez song in Skam España? I’m still not over the fact that Hay Algo En Mí wasn’t in last season. IT WAS LITERALLY PERFECT. Anyways, something from her new album would be cool, maybe my favourite song, De Vez En Cuando, that talks about anxiety, so maybe during a really dark and sad clip. 

Amaia...only has one song in Skam España’s soundtrack...and it’s a collab. I can’t even... Any song will do, maybe El Relámpago?

I’m probably missing some more but those are the ones I could think of :)

This friday released the first OT single recorded and produce outside of the program, the one of the first expulsed of the edition, Ariadna! And she is gonna go sing it in the gala tomorrow so that’s gonna be excited! I’ll probably talk about her performance there in the Top 3 of that gala so you’ll know how she did :)

About the single, I really really like it, I don’t know what to expect with her but I frankly love it, it reminds me a bit of Alba Reche, but way more raw. It blew me off the charts when I listened to it, and I’m so happy for her, she didn’t deserve to be the first expulsed, and I love that she’s working and making herself be heard. TOP 5 OT 2020 SINGLES

So, now that all OT 2020 16 contestants have released a single, I thought it would be a cool idea to make a post with my top 5! Before starting, keep in mind all of these singles were made while they were in OT and the video lyrics were published in their youtube channel so, if you like the singles and would want to listen to it more, please do it on other streaming platforms different to youtube, as the artist won’t get any revenue from the youtube video!

First of all, here are some honorable mentions; these are songs that I also really like, but I had to narrow the list to 5. But really, I like these songs nearly the same as the top 5:

Dumb - Eva B: The only single in English! I know it has some grammar issues, but if we shove that aside, it’s just a really fun little song!

Me Iré - Anaju: I love how she has participated in the mixing and in making the cover and the video lyrics, she’s the most independent contestant for sure. Also it sounds really fucking good.

Calma - Flavio: God I love Flavio’s voice and this style, of semi-rapping and nearly talking, we don’t have many stuff like this in Spanish, and I would love if Flavio managed to keep this style in his music, fresh and nice.

8 Maravillas - Nia Correia: I LOVE songs that talk about places, and this song talks about the Canary Islands, the birthplace of Nia. Also, the beat and the style suits her so much, it’s perfect for her.

Special mention to Sal de Mí, I didn’t count it as a single cause it’s sung by all contestants, but still, it’s a fucking bop.

5. FUGACES - GÈRARD

The last one to come, and one of the best!!! I still prefer the accoustic version, but I love that he was so involved in the mixing, and also that the cover was made by a fan! I love the lyrics, Gèrard is one of the best composers of the editions, and it sounds really good!

4.AL SANTO EQUIVOCADO - ARIADNA

I’m still not over how amazing this song is??? It’s up my alley in terms of style, and the instrumental is so simple yet so beautiful... And those vocals!!! The emotion!!! The cover!! The lyric video!!! It has everything, I still don’t know how Ariadna was the first expulsed to be honest. This single it’s too amazing.

3.SALTÉ - ANNE LUKIN

My girl :) I’m so proud of her. We got to see the recording process in the Academy, with Gèrard at the guitar and just her voice, that’s it. Simple, but so so beautiful. Also, the cover is amazing, and was made by one of the most talented artists in Spain, her @ is anipeitz both on ig and twitter, I don’t know if she has a tumblr though. She’s amazing, honestly. Also, Anne is the first contestant to release a second single, this Friday, June 5th!!!!

2.OXITOCINA - CHICA SOBRESALTO (MAIALEN)

I’ve said it before, but punk Maialen is my favourite Maialen. I just love the raspiness in her voice, and it’s a really stark contrast with her sweet as hell normal persona. The lyrics are also really cool, they talk about feminine masturbation, trying to break the taboo that exists.

1.QUÉ SABRÁ NERUDA - JAVY RAMÍREZ

The first single and, for me, the best. It has everything you ever need of a song, it sounds like something a well-known artist will write and produce, and not a 21 year old like Javy. The message is amazing, of feminine empowerment, and the beat is so amazing, and so catchy. It is one of those songs you have to sing off the top of your lungs at least once in a lifetime.
