CHEYANNE --------
Cheyanne Villanova was a rowdy country girl born and raised on Earth. Before joining the Exodus Program, she'd never even been off-planet before. The training was rough, but she handled it; her brother... Not so much. A fact that she never let him forget.
Her placement on the Exodus Green was a momentous occasion. Her brother was mortified to discover that he hadn't been selected. Cheyanne, being the optimistic person she was, believed she could pull strings to allow her twin to join the crew as a civilian ride-along.
However, the Darkness did not care much for their plans and hopes. The Exodus Green was launched on a hail-mary out of the system in an attempt to flee the coming Collapse. Shay knew her brother was likely dead. But so would she be soon. She welcomed her death with open arms...
Tumblr media
CLANCY --------
Clancy Villanova was a shrewd man, deeply interested by mathematics and studying data. His dream was to join the likes of the Ishtar Collective or Braytech as a researcher. Knowing their recruitment requirements were quite strict, Clancy studied and published many theses for many years to catch the eye of some enterprising employee of his favored organizations... To no avail, unfortunately.
So when the Exodus Program began recruiting for colonization efforts outside the Sol System, Clancy jumped at the chance to put his substantial intellect to use for the betterment of humanity. His sister had already passed the trainings and was accepted for the Exodus Green crew. Clancy felt that he had a fair chance and threw his hat in the ring as well...
But once again, his endeavors met with failure.
Even as his sister reassured him that she would find a way to get him a place on the crew, even as a civilian colonist, Clancy fell into a deep depression and withdrew from his sister. He had resigned himself to the fact that he would lose his sister beyond the system and would fail in every attempt he made to leave his mark on history...
As the Collapse rose to a fever pitch around him, Clancy made a mad-cap attempt at infiltrating the Exodus Green and stowing away aboard the ship. He succeeded! He still had a great fate to fulfil, he felt it in his bones. This apocalypse would not be the end for him...
WAKE --------
Shay and Cy Vi awoke in the Distributory as all their people did. Mara Sov had saved them from oblivion, though they didn't know that yet. They had been given a chance to flourish in this new space... And flourish they did.
When the time came for Mara to take her people and leave the Distributory, the twins fell in with their Queen, ever loyal to her and her alone.
In the Reef, Shay became a great warrior of the Awoken people. Recognized by royalty as a powerful fighter, and loved by the people as a stalwart defender. On the frontier was Cy, one of Uldren Sov's most trusted operatives and a dear friend.
Though they always worked apart, Shay and Cy would regularly meet to discuss their recent travails and exploits, relishing in each other's victories and cringing together at their defeats. For many centuries, Shay and Cy served the Awoken people, gaining much repute for their deeds.
But as the Reef Wars heightened and the Fallen grew more bold in their attacks against the Awoken, it became obvious that the tides were shifting in their enemies' favor. And a key location to survey was the Old Russian Cosmodrome, the lair of the House of Devils.
The pair were given covert codenames to hide their identities: Claros and Clara, Fireteam Vita. Using Cabal-themed names seemed a good idea to mask the Awoken's presence in the area. Their normal identifiers were held in the Reef and they were granted scarlet coins that bore their codenames only.
This covert mission together was ill-fated. It was there they found their end, their bodies lost in the Russian winter.
RISE --------
The twin Ghosts Artemis and Apollo always wanted to find fellow twins for their Guardians. And when they found the pair of Awoken fighters, their remains laid side-by-side, their fraternal love still strong even in death, the two Ghosts knew their search was finally over.
"Eyes up, Guardians!" Apollo chirped as the bodies finished reforming.
The Hunter shook his head, dust and grime cracking off his armor in chunks. The Titan sat up slowly and looked around, senses dulled but still very much in tune with her surroundings.
"It... Worked..." Artemis almost hummed the words. "They're alive!"
"You don't know how long we've been looking for you!" Apollo swooped in close to the Titan, causing her to recoil slightly. "We're Ghosts... Actually--" He floated backward and nuzzled against Artemis. "--I believe we're now YOUR Ghosts!"
"And you..." Artemis's mechanical eye darted back and forth a bit, clearly agitated. "...you've been dead a long time... So you're gonna see a lot of things you're not gonna understand."
A guttural roar sounded off in the distance, echoing off of the tall, imposing wall to their right. Artemis and Apollo spun around, their eyes flicking across the landscape.
"This is Fallen territory!" Apollo whispers, clearly frightened. "We aren't safe here! We have to get you to the City..."
Artemis floats out toward the wall a bit, thinking. Then she swoops in close to the Hunter. "Hold still." And she vanishes. Apollo vanishes as well, sparkles of Light flickering in the predawn gloom.
"Don't worry, we're still with you!" Artemis's voice sounds within the Hunter's mind. He recoils, reaching up instinctively to his ear, then shakes his head. The two New Lights rise to their feet in unison, looking at each other.
"We need to move, fast!" Apollo urges the pair. "We won't survive long out in the open like this. Let's get inside the wall!"
Old instincts kick in as the Hunter flexes his hands and reaches for the dagger at his waist. The Titan rolls her shoulders, feeling the Arc Light tickle across her fingers. The pair cast a knowing sidelong look at each other, already in sync.
"A bit of live-fire exercise to shake off the gravedirt?" The Hunter's voice cracks several times, but he finishes the sentence before spitting into the sparse grass at his feet.
The Titan smirks, picking up her helmet from where it had lay for decades. "Just need to find me a gun." she rumbles.
FALL --------
Claros crept slowly through the underbrush outside Firebase Hades. The Shadow Legion caravan stomped and grumbled its way through the woods, leaving a brutish trail in their wake. It was like tracking actual rhinos; absolutely no tact. Made him wonder why they were plunging their way through the woods this far from any known outposts... Maybe some kind of secret base tucked in the trees? Or maybe they were setting one up...? He clicked his comms twice. After a beat, two clicks in return. They were both safe to talk freely.
"Either these dudes don't care about being followed... Or they're morons." Claros mused, a smile hinted in his tone.
"Cabal aren't known for their subtlety... Even with a name like 'Shadow Legion', they're not espionage experts at all." Crow's voice sounded almost musical; he was elated to be in the field again. Claros couldn't blame him; easy to forget the pain of loss when you have targets in your sights. Crow continued, "Just as you thought; they're breaking into the clearing now."
"I'll let our welcoming party know to prepare her gifts."
----
Clara leaned against a tree, carving a branch with a fine, curved knife, her helmet on the ground beside her boot. Petra had given the knife to her as a gift for being named Queensguard. Clara could tell that they had history, but tried not to dwell on the absence she felt when she tried to recall any of it. She was sure that both Petra and Mara were irate at their family members getting resurrected by the ball in the sky, but they were textbook Awoken; completely bottled it up and never acknowledged it.
But Clara's instincts with women was as keen as ever; amnesia had done nothing to dull that. She knew that Mara was still brooding over Uldren's new life, even if he did remember his old one. And Petra may as well have a tattoo on her forehead that said "f&^% the Traveler". Gotta sting a bit to put a bullet in a traitor's head only for him to now be one of your Queen's most trusted allies within a faction you didn't even like that much. Clara wondered if--
Two clicks over the comms. She clicked back once. Not ready to talk; she wanted to finish her carving. Just a couple more cuts and...
An Ahamkara skull. An effigy to Riven. Her fireteam slaying the Wish Dragon had never sat right with Clara... But she supposed there'd been nothing for it; Riven was out of control and a major threat to the system. Just a shame that she was the last one of her kind. Almost poetic in how tragic it was...
She tucked the piece into her pocket, kicked her helmet up to her hand, then smoothly slid it over her head. She took a deep breath, then clicked twice over the comms. Two clicks back, then her brother's voice.
"Welcoming party is a go. On your mark, partycrasher."
Arc energy crackled from her fists. Time to slam.
----
Crow eyed the Psions at the head of the group as the Cabal unpacked their cargo in the clearing. No hidden base... Yet. They were likely setting up shop here to make one. We can't have that, can we... Crow snorted slightly at his own reaction. Amanda would've--
He shook his head. Can't think about her right now. Focus on the mission.
Two clicks over the comms. He clicked back twice as he nestled back against his rifle and looked down the scope.
"Partycrasher inbound."
Crow smiled. Moving targets were more fun, and these Cabal would be scattering like scared cats when Clara--
SHCKA-THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
An explosion blasted through the pre-dusk air as a dervish of Arc energy erupted into the sky across the clearing. Clara landed on top of the Psion Crow had sighted and his scope filled with Light. He swore, recoiling and readjusting to the edge of the Cabal's group. They'd already started running panicked toward the trees, a large group of them lancing gunfire toward the Amplified Titan in their midst...
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH-DOOOOOOOM
Solar Light flashed ahead of the fleeing group as six shots lanced from the darkness, piercing the front few and incinerating the rest in Ignition fire. A searing knife spun through the air, landing at the feet of the leading Psions as they attempted to erect a barrier to protect themselves. The air sparkled with embers as the knife exploded, sending the Psions flying. Crow swore again; he'd not taken a single shot. He couldn't get shown up by these two again...
As he lamented his poor performance, the Hunter saw a lone Psion survivor dipping into the trees, vanishing from sight. Perfect target! He jumped from his perch, stowing his rifle and drawing his Void-charged Shadowshot bow. As he hit the ground, he tossed a smoke bomb in front of him, vanishing into the mist it produced. He flitted from shadow to shadow, the Light in his bow draining fast; he had only one shot.
The Psion left a trail of wreckage behind them as they ran through the underbrush, making Crow's job incredibly easy. He took a running leap up onto a large boulder, sighted down his arrow, and took a single shot blindly into the trees...
A moment went by, but it felt like eons before Crow heard his Deadshot anchor activate.
He dismissed his bow, then casually strode through the wake of the fleeing Psion. Within short order, he found them, trembling on the floor, tethered to the anchor he'd fired, not two feet away. Crow shook his head; he felt bad for the small creature, shuddering in fear and panic, clearly at its wits end... He gently tied the Psion's hands behind its back, then lifted it over his shoulder.
"I hope you're capable of listening to reason." Crow muttered, knowing that the Psion likely couldn't understand him. "This really isn't the way to go..."
And with his prey captured and bound, he made his way back toward the clearing and his allies.

Oaths and Hearts... - Part 2 (Ignis Scentia/Reader)
So this is a crossover between FFXV and Dragon Age Inquisition.
You fell through a rift into the fade fighting the demons you swore to protect your world from. When you popped out you were no longer in the lands of Ferelden instead trapped in Insomnia. The gracious king allowed you to say recognizing power when he saw it. One thing led to another and now you were part of the procession of the prince to his wedding years later. Before the final battle, after years of fighting, losses, and love…your friend…your king…Noctis has asked you to change it all…
Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What?” His eyes widened behind his glasses. When you didn’t ask him again, he leaned forward capturing your lips with his own. His hands moved up your arms as you both stepped with each other until your back hit the wall.
You stopped when a small moan escaped him. You took a deep breath in your nose as you licked you lips, “Um…W-we should…”
“Yes…” He cupped your face kissing you again making you lightheaded. The next time he stopped he slid his arm around you back guiding you to the gondola, the hotel was exactly where you both thought it was.
Securing rooms was the easy part. Keeping your hands off him until you reached your room was the problem. You loved the way he moved. Everything was purposeful. His steady glances back toward you as he already unbuttoned his jacket while moving up the stairs. It became unbearable when he removed his glasses when you followed him down the hallway.
He was in control of everything and the fire in you roared as he opened the door to your room. This didn’t happen before. You had arrived to Altissia too late and there was barely any time to rest before the city was attacked.
Neither of you had expressed your feelings for one another until well after the infiltration of the empire. He had confessed however, that he had every intention of asking you out after the wedding. Things just got carried away…
But now, you were here…it was early…changing the past could wait for a moment, you decided at the sound of the door clicking behind you. You shivered when he came up behind your speaking quietly as his hands gently found your arms, “I hope the room is amenable. If you need anything else…”
You turned in his hands reaching up to his face as you interrupted, “Everything I need is here.”
You could see he understood what you meant. It wasn’t just him in a fancy room with you, it was just him you needed. Just Ignis…
The emotions racing through his eyes startled you. He did everything with purpose, and you were sorely throwing a wrench into things. You only ever saw him like this once when searching for the prince, who had in attempt to avoid a royal meeting snuck off.
“How can you say that?” He swallowed leaning into your hand that moved up into his hair, “I was one of the ones who kept you under lock and key for so long…”
You felt your face crack remembering back to your first arrival. It hadn’t been an easy transition…but saving the king did grant you a little favor…
“What…is that?” Noct pointed toward a green light erupting in the windows of the citadel.
“I don’t know…Prompto…” Ignis looked to the young cadet who straightened up instantly, “Take the prince to the safe house…remain there until we call for you to return.”
“Yes’sir!” Prompto nodded obediently. There was hope for him, when things got serious, so did he.
“Wait…I wanna see…I wanna help.” Noct stepped forward.
“Your enthusiasm is commendable, but it’s our job to keep you safe.” Gladio smirked at him, “Don’t worry, in a few years you will see tons of action.”
“Go now, we’ll come for you soon.” Ignis pointed for them to leave, “Gladio.”
“Ready.” Both the young Crowns Guard rushed forward with other troops. Already they could see the situation was serious with the Kingsglaive warping in all over.
Ignis looked around quickly trying to ascertain the situation when his eyes fell on a Glaive he knew, “Nyx…”
A young man turned pushing up his visor. He smirked holding out his hand, “Am I that easy to pick out of a crowd of Glaive?”
Ignis shook his hand, “You do have an air about you always…do you know what’s going on?”
“We’re about to get a report…is the prince…” Nyx eyed him before looking around.
“He’s safe. No need to worry.” Gladio told him firmly.
“I wouldn’t…but I know our prince…” Nyx shrugged a little turning as Crowe came over to him with Libertus, “What’s the word? The king having a party we don’t know about?”
When she didn’t answer him right away his mood switched to a more serious one, “We don’t know what it is…but it’s let something into the courtyard.”
“The King?” Nyx put his hand on his blade ready to act as other Glaive moved in.
“He and several of his advisors are present there.” Nyx cursed as she went on “We need a plan before you think of just rushing in there.”
“Plan, get the King and phase out of there.” He raised his voice.
“Don’t you think he would have done that already?” Gladio put his hands on his hips, “After all your gifts come from him.”
Nyx looked at him, “He’s not one to leave people behind.”
Ignis sighed adjusting his glasses, “We can use the veranda as a way to look in and assess the situation better.”
Everyone looked at him before Nyx spoke, “You think you’re going in there, Specs?”
Ignis glared at him for using the nickname, “I guard the prince, he’ll want to know the status of his father, the King. What better way to know then to assist? I assure you Gladio and I will remain as a distant support. We’re not all blessed like the Glaive.”
“Fine…Libertus, Crowe, take the right side. You three the south, you two the north, and you two with me.” Nyx barked out the orders.
“When did they let you back in charge?” Ignis asked him as they moved through the halls to the stairs.
“Oh, you know…boss is out with most of Glaive on a special mission…Sometimes they like to see if I’m still capable in the absence…” Nyx glanced at him, “Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll blame the immigrant and I’ll be back on wall duty next week.”
“I didn’t…” Nyx raised a hand silencing Ignis before he could correct the suggestion that he was being a bigot.
The green light filled the stairwell well before they reached the veranda and the sound of monsters and a fight could be heard. Nyx raced forward the two crowns guard hot on his heels.
As they snuck onto the veranda it was fascinating. This light was heavy as you passed through it. It actually had substance… Ignis wished to study it further but a crackling noise followed by a roar pulled his attention away immediately. What he saw before him was a daemon like nothing he’d seen in any of his studies.
It roared out raising a clawed hand summoning some form of electricity. He released it in the form of a large whip toward a bright light on the south end of the courtyard. It made contact and the ripple of a shield alerted them of the miss.
“The King seems to be fairing alright.” Gladio told them as the daemon unleashed another attack, “Wish I had a shield…”
“That’s not the King…” Nyx told them, “That’s something…someone…else…”
“How do you know?” Ignis looked at him as he pulled out his daggers.
Nyx looked back as the shield rippled again being hit with such great force, “The King’s magic doesn’t look like that…I’ve used it enough to know…someone is protecting the King…Stay here. Only engage if you have to and keep this area clear. I’m bringing the King to you.”
Nyx moved forward to get a better vantage of his destination. He ordered the other Glaives to stand down until ordered otherwise. He looked over the railing ducking down as a stray bolt struck behind him. Cursing he looked back over again seeing the King and a few of his advisors standing behind a figure he could make out from the shield, “I’ve got eyes on the king…preparing for extraction.”
He pulled his dagger out taking in a deep breath as he pulled his arm back. He needed to wait for the right moment…exhale…
He skidded to a halt in front of the king. Regis looked down at him, “Glaive…”
“Your majesty I’m here to get you to safety.” Nyx stood up reaching out for the King.
Regis took a breath in standing tall as he looked past Nyx, “I’m afraid I can’t do that just yet.”
“Your majesty…” Nyx began to protest but was interrupted.
“Go! I can take care of this!” Nyx looked back to you, a woman, clad in armor he’d never seen before, holding your hands up keeping the shimmering shield in place as this daemon unleashed another torrent of attacks.
“She’s got it…let’s go.” Nyx look back to the King.
“No, I will not abandon her. She has kept us safe this far.” Regis stepped up to Nyx speaking quickly, “Take the advisors, I will remain and help her.”
“No, out of the question.” Nyx shook his head putting his finger to the comm in his ear as if listening.
“There is no other option.” Regis put his hand on Nyx’s shoulder, “I will not let my advisors fall.”
“I’m afraid I have to disagree with you, your majesty.” Nyx retorted as Crowe and Libertus warped in with two other Glaives, “Your insistence has changed my mind…but only on helping her if you leave. My duty is to you and keeping you safe. You need to go.”
“Your majesty…” Crowe stepped forward holding out her hand.
Regis looked at her for a moment before looking to Nyx and their new quest, “Defeat this…let no harm come to this woman more than necessary.”
Nyx cursed a little as everyone disappeared. He turned stepping closer to you, “So how do we roast this thing?”
“Not roast…freeze…” Your eyes flashed as you let the shield go. You moved fluidly across the room as if you had the king’s power within you.
Nyx was only shocked for a moment before warping forward slashing at the beast but making no progress, “What is this thing!?”
“Pride demon…” You threw your arms out in font of you as a streak of cold burst forth freezing its feet in place. “I need to get higher! I need to take out his head!”
“Got it!” Nyx shouted as he warped from across the room landing a blow in the back of the creature’s knee before he warped again landing next to you, “Alright, let’s do this!”
“What?” He watched your eyes widen as he wrapped his arm around your waist throwing the dagger high up above the balcony of the courtyard.
Halfway up he felt the stasis kick, “Oh shit…”
His arm went slack around as you both began to fall. You felt your heart jump to your throat as scrambled reaching for anything that could slow your descent. You were about to give up when you felt a large warm hand grasp your arm almost losing you until his other hand slapped against your wrist jerking your entire body to a halt.
You stared up at lanky fellow with intense green eyes behind glasses. He gritted his teeth as he stared at you, “Whatever you were about to do, do it!”
The order snapped you back to the task at hand. You looked back to the demon raising your hand conjuring the spell Ice Storm freezing it in place. You swallowed knowing you only had so much time. You scrambled up the wall with this gentleman’s help, “Thank you…”
“No prob-what are you doing!?” You heard him call after you as you leapt off the balcony summoning the Knight Enchanter’s blade crashing it down into back of the neck of the demon. You slide down it’s back raising your hand toward the rift watching as the Pride demon drifted into it piece by piece until the rift closed.
You stood there a moment longer hand raised as the realization of what had just happened began to sink in. Falling to your knees a well of emotions began to flow through you like the tears on your face as you went prostrate. The sound of soldiers surrounding you only brought you out of this well.
Raising your head, you reached out for the hilt of the Enchanter’s blade, but before you could summon the energy the hooded man warped in front of you falling to his knees, “Stop…”
“Nyx…” A woman approached him practically glaring daggers.
“The King…didn’t want…” He spoke breathless.
“He’s correct.” Everyone froze and you looked up toward the man who saved you. He bowed his head backing away from the older gentleman who looked down at them, “Please bring her to me…I require some answers.”
You swallowed looking at Ignis, “You were doing what was necessary to protect King Regis and Noctis.”
“You had proved yourself more then enough times…” He trailed off taking your hands in his holding them as if you would break, “I knew after our first discussion that you weren’t lying about your origins…yet…I couldn’t just say that. You could have been anyone trying to make a fool of me.”
“Nyx, where do I…Oh…” You stopped in the entryway of the bathroom seeing the man from the day before sitting at the small round table. He adjusted the spectacles on his face, “I’m sorry…I thought Nyx…”
“He will return in a while. King Regis asked for his time.” He stood up adjusting his coat. You got the sense he took great pride in his appearance, “I am Ignis Scientia, Crowns Guard.”
You swallowed bowing a little, “Y/N Trevelyan…Inquisitor.”
“An investigator? Interesting…” A small smile pulled at the corners of his mouth, “You came out with a question, yes?”
“Yes…” Your face reddened a little, “I wanted to inquire how to get water for the bath?”
He blinked tilting his head a little, “Excuse me?”
“The bath…I saw a small pool in there next to it, but…it will take a long time to fill it.” You could tell he was either having a hard time understanding what you meant, or even didn’t believe you meant to ask the question.
Clearing his throat, he calmly stepped forward nodding his head for you to follow, “Everything you need is already here.”
“But you asked me not to use my magic…” You stood next to him as he smiled at you. You watched him gracefully bend over, turning some knob on the wall and water came from the spigot below it, “…well now I feel foolish…”
“Don’t.” He stood up looking down at you, eyes twinkling with fascination, “You didn’t know…Now…From your ignorance I’ll let you in on a few other things while the water warms up…”
“Ignis, it’s in the past…I enjoyed our long conversations of you diving into where I was from and I trying to figure out this magnificent world.” You told him smiling as you stepped closer to him, “I adore everything about you…”
“Adore?” He quirked an eyebrow, “Me?”
“Yes, you.” You told him as you pulled on his jacket bringing him down to your level so you could kiss him. You had every intention of making the most of these few hours alone with him and making him never forget it. If you couldn’t change the events that happen in a few days…you wanted him to see you at least once before…
Your thoughts trailed off as his hands scooped your legs out from under you producing a gasp from your lips. He smirked at you as he took long strides toward the bed when you wrapped your legs around his hips, “You make being a gentleman very hard…”
“I don’t want you to be gentle.” You whispered against his lips relishing the fire that ignited in his eyes.

Trying to get a sense for why I can binge and endlessly rewatch Girls und Panzer, but struggle with Magnificent Kotobuki 1. It's all about the geometry. You always have a clear sense of where each party is in relation to each other in GuP, and in a very intuitive way, because it's mostly in a 2D sense. The added dimension to aerial dogfighting makes it harder to know who has the upper hand in a particular battle and why. 2. The tanks are more tactile to watch. The sense of sticky friction in the acceleration/decelerations is at an optimal pace. The animation of the girls matches that, as they take really broad actions like pulling levers, slamming doors, pushing pedals, and swaying as they're influenced by the movements of the tank, and we get to see how all of those actions are reflected in the actions of the tank. The cockpit view is way more limited, and we basically just get some vague shaking and the direction of their eyelines. The above point doesn't help either, because even when we get some leaning to go with the swooping of the plane, we don't see a 1-to-1 effect on the battle. Similarly, the nerding out over tanks specs in GuP could be seen making an intuitive effect on the match tactics. The attempts at nerding out over plane specs is way more nebulous, just a sense of which planes could be faster or have more fuel, and it's hard to see how our protagonists are compensating for any disadvantages in a clear way. 3. Yet one more example of the same point, where with the tanks, you could clearly see the "health" of the tank, and what capabilities they still had. It's easy to understand when the treads are broken, or an armor panel shears off. With the dogfights, it seems like an all-or-nothing game, shot down or not, and that's both harder to convey degrees of skill (it becomes a plot armor + hitscan game) and makes it hard to care about anything but the end of the sequence. 4. Kotobuki tries to compensate for this with non-dogfight sequences, and some of them do gangbusters, like Zara's infiltration, or most of what Madame Loulou does. However, too much is still far too hit-or-miss. Sometimes the world-building and politics works, sometimes it doesn't. GuP had the advantage of the classic sports structure to have clear character arcs and justified comedic sequences outside of the matches. The show is also tries having aerial action sequences where there's non-dogfighting problem solving, like "deliver the bomb to point X" or "crash the airship." Saddling the girls with legible extra limitations, like weighing down the plane with extra cargo, or needing to stay low to keep under the radar, helps to demonstrate concrete competence. But then, they just as often have cases where it's a weightless victory by fiat. One might compare the reveal of Johnny to the BT-42 shenanigans in the GuP film, of an OP ringer character suddenly trolling the premises, but the latter still has very clear replicable mechanisms for why they succeed, and their opponents aren't just chumps. Johnny's sequence feels kind of like a BLAM. 5. The chemistry isn't there. I don't feel how the Kobobuki squad gels as a team, both in terms of relationships and tactics. Most adventures are about an individual squad member's relationship to an external guest character, and seem to have no impact on the squad. The banter isn't consistently good enough for me to care.

1./ Carlos Oliveira /00/ Sewers Outside Safe Zone/ Day 1
After having laid low for a long time after Raccoon City to avoid bad publicity or potential criminal prosecution for having been part of Umbrella's Biohazard Countermeasure Service during the incident, Carlos Oliveira heard the news of the more recent Outbreak. He didn't want to spend his whole life a hermit hiding in isolation but who could he turn to? The B.S.A.A. would probably declare him a fugitive bioterrorist. Ever since the time which they founded following the collapse of Umbrella, they've been on a huntdown after every last spec of Umbrella. Carlos knew Nicholai Ginovaef was still alive, but where did he go? Who did he sell his combat data on Umbrella's B.O.W.s to? Could he have a hand in or some type of connection to what's going on now? That's what Carlos wanted to find out. Multiple times he saw Nicholai cheat death. But despite the B.S.A.A. having presumed Nicholai dead as his whereabouts were unknown just like Carlos himself, Jill still knew Carlos survived Raccoon City.
"OK first things first" Carlos said to himself. "Infiltrate the hot zone, dig up intel related to what the hell's going on and avoid contact with the B.S.A.A." according to a layout of the city map Carlos found, there appeared to be a massive network of underground sewers and waterways that connected routes together so he could use those to avoid checkpoints at the gates to the safe zone. The intel also confirmed an armory outside the safe zone, possibly a former military supply logistics depot before the outbreak occurred that the troops were forced to abandon leaving behind whatever guns ammo and vehicles they couldn’t commandeer with them before the infected took over the sector of the city it was located in. An entry way to the sewers was connected via a drainage ditch near the armory. (Similar to the factory drainage ditch leading to the sewers below the tower in RE Revelations 2) Carlos Oliveira made his way through the tunnels until he had reached the drainage ditch. The whole armory was surrounded by zombies outside. The electric barbed wire fence had acted as a bug zapper to the charred zombies stuck to it (like the choice in RE3 to increase electricity output at the power station) however very few zombies were inside except maybe a GI or quartermaster or 2 unfortunate enough not to have made it out in time. Quite an adequate supply of ammunition and accessories the troops were unable to gather up and transport out in time still remained. So Carlos decided to make this his supply stash. In one of his various hideouts he created (similar to the save rooms in the early RE games) he loaded and chambered his M4A1 Assault rifle and Sig SP 2009 handgun the same guns from his U.B.C.S. days.
He wrote a log of each day and recorded where he went and what he found (in a similar fashion as saving on typewriters in early RE games) so for today "Sweep and scavenge the Armory" he logged. "If any infected come my way I’ll have to take them down quietly" he said to himself. "Can't give myself away or draw the whole horde in by the sound of shots fired hopefully I can find some suppressors for my guns there." He brought a couple of molotov cocktails and a survival knife along to barbecue any groups or impale the heads of any zeds that got in his way. Moving through the sewer tunnels he saw a lone zombie by itself he stabbed it through the temple of its head pushing it forward face first and then kicked its skull in. Following that he entered the waterway carrying his rifle above his head through the knee deep sewer water. There were a few zombies snarling in the distance but not in the way of where he was going. "Ok now to get in there and grab myself some new goodies." Carlos said to himself as he reached the drainage ditch behind the armory. He saw an armored blackhawk helicopter flying above but heading away from his direction. Carlos clenched his fists and cringed upon the memory of an unpleasant encounter he and Jill had at the Dead Factory back in Raccoon City which that had triggered.
Carlos made his way to a ladder along the cement wall of the drainage ditch and started climbing. Carlos looked along the exterior. The snarling chorus of zombie moans echoed loudly throughout the distance. Carlos noticed the buzzing crackling zapping sounds coming from the electric barbed wire fence and light jolting through it. "Hmm? So this place still has power? Then I guess I can rule out trying to jimmy open the electronic gate lock." he said to himself looking around over the gated off area. On the concrete floor of the area where the supply trucks used to park, near the back gate, although no vehicles were in sight, he spotted a metal grating or cover on top of what appeared to be a storm drain gutter. "Aha!" Carlos thought to himself as he looked along the wall of the drainage ditch until he saw a gutter opening with water pouring out. "And there's my ticket in." he said to himself. Carlos crawled through the gutter for a good few yards until he finally reached the area inside the armory. He pushed the drain cover off and climbed out inside.
"Ok I'm in!" He said to himself. He opened the door into the armory building. Inside he saw zombified soldiers in B.D.U.s with M4A1 rifles on their backs and wearing bulletproof armor. A crowd of about 4 or 5 in the concrete corridor. Fortunately there was nothing flammable, so he lobbed one of his molotovs on them barbecuing them to a crisp. Alot of the rooms were left open. "Looks like they were in a hurry to get out of here." Carlos said. He found a map on the wall and used it to locate the weapons and ammo storage. Inside, he was greeted by a zombified quartermaster along with 2 zombie MPs whom he'd tripped to the ground and kicked in the heads of outside. Carlos stabbed the zombie quartermaster in his head.
"Now we're talking!" He said. As he scavenged noise suppressors for his M4A1 Assault rifle and Sig SP 2009 handgun. He also found an underbarrel M203 grenade launcher that he mounted onto his M4A1. In his backpack he loaded it with a couple frags and every last magazine of 5.56mm NATO 9 x 19mm parabellum and 40mm gremade rounds he could fit. "Ok this should do me for now. Can apways come back if I need more." He said. He went back to rear gate emtrance and opped open the gutter cover and crawled back through the gutters. Coming back out into the drainage ditch he found another zombie straggler in the water. He drew his Sig SP 2009 to the zombie's head and pulled the trigger. No sound was heard except for a "pffft" as he a 9mm to the zombie's head. It fell back into the water and floated on the surface. Carlos continued back towards his hideout and pulled out his notebook log. He put a checkmark by "Sweep and scavenge the armory" and folded up the map he found of the area with it.
"I wonder if I should go into town tonight." He asked himself. Carlos mapped out different sewer and subway tunnel access points in and out of the town’s “safe zone” to bypass any checkpoints but when in the safe zone he was limited on what weapons he could carry due to the risk of breaking his cover. He knew how to conceal his handgun if necessary not to mention if for some reason he did have to fire it his noise suppressor would be able to keep the shot from being heard. The frame and body of his Sig Sp 2009 was lightweight and mainly made primarily of plastic so it was less likely to set off a metal detector. However, if going through an X-Ray scanner that’d give him away on the spot.
Carlos changed out of his tactical gear and combat fatigues hit the showers and then put on his street clothes black jeans and a System Of A Down Toxicity concert T but kept his combat boots and tactical gloves on.The rest of his gear he put in his backpack to keep out of visible sight hopefully the biker/metalhead look would deter anyone from wanting to pick a fight with him. He also put a bulletproof vest on under his shirt with a carry conceal holster for his handgun. To keep the outline of the gun from from showing through he also wore a leather vest unbuttoned or unzipped in the front over the concert T. Before he lef he cleaned ou he barrel on his M4A1 assault rifle and fitted I with a noise suppressor and configured the underbarrel M203 Grenade Launcher attachment on it and then put it up in his hideout which was a lodging area for sewer workers complete with a bunk and a shower facility. After he left the safe area, he pushed a metal shelf over over the entrance doorway to camouflage it. ”That should do for now,” Carlos said, “Now remember if anyone asks who you are you are Carl Oliver” he said to himself. Carlos continued through the sewer tunnels until he reached the passageway to the subway access route. From there he followed the tracks using his handgun’s new suppressor to silently put 9mm rounds through the heads of any zombies that stood in his way through the derelict subway tunnels and climbed up onto the boarding platform. From there it was a straight shot up to the streets. Carlos reholstered his handgun before haeding up to the ground level.
