People who sell them on Etsy, Amazon, AliExpress, etc. are resellers that buy the plushies from the main manufacturer in China. Quality of the plushies may vary because it’s a small, handmade plush, but after scrolling through so many resellers on Amazon and looking at the reviews, majority of them seem to be authentic!

Just look for a reseller with good reviews/photos of the product. If it looks right to you, then buy it! So far I haven’t seen any “bootleg” variants of these kind of plushies :)
