Due to complications, after Penelope was born, her mother discovered she could no longer have children. Despite how sad of a discovery this was, Penelope's mother absolutely adored her and tried to give her the best life possible!

At a very young age, Penelope's mother and father introduced her to cooking. The three would cook dinner together every night and eat together as a family. It was one of the best things about Penelope's childhood, and it gave her a great love for food and cooking!

Penelope began making dishes and posting them on social medias, giving her several likes. She eventually started writing about her dishes and even writing about different restaurants she was going to, and after getting a rather big following, she started making videos of herself cooking and posting them on YouTube.

lorena was born in mayagüez, puerto rico to miguel burgos and his wife mia. her parents had an average income until the industry in their town was hit hard. both the tuna factory and the textile factory her parents worked at closed in the 90s, which caused the family to lose their lower-middle-class security. for a while, the family lived below the breadline. lorena is the oldest of the three burgos children and worked as a cashier at the weekends since she was fourteen to help support her family. her siblings followed suit when they reached that age. while lorena and her sister, maria kept on the straight and narrow, their brother, jesus was often angry at the world. angry at the poverty they were living in and the lack of control he felt. he decided to forge his own criminal path, which landed him in prison before the age of twenty. it was devastating to the burgos family, and lorena was even more motivated to give her parents hope and something to be proud of.

lorena was focused from a young age on two things - helping her parents financially and her education. she was always busy, always with her eye on the price. she didn't date in high school, didn't have very many friends, but my god did she have stellar grades. she would do anything to put a smile on her father's face - and no smile was bigger than when she got that letter: she had been accepted to princeton. she would also be receiving financial aid that would limit her student loan debt. the idea of leaving puerto rico both thrilled her and scared her.

she decided to major in finance and got her master's degree in five years. in those five years, lorena finally had some room to think about herself. who was she? who did she want to be? she slowly discovered that she hadn't had time or mental room to think about those uncomfortable feelings she experienced in her own body, the icky thought of dating a woman... as a man. it was confusing and she really wouldn't have explored it, if she hadn't met who is now her best friend (wanted connection). they dated for a short time, in which lorena was finally open about her questions surrounding her gender identity. it was in that relationship that she finally decided to explore her gender expression and realized that she is transgender. the relationship ended, but the friendship has endured to this day.

after graduation, lorena got a job in the finance sector in new jersey and was fortunate enough to work in an open-minded company. she got to socially transition and start hormones with little to no fuss. once she changed her name, it felt inevitable to inform her family. a few years of tough conversations and a lot of tears followed, but eventually, her family grew to accept her. lorena felt that after she'd had top surgery and facial feminization surgery together with the shaving of her adams apple, her journey was complete. by that time, she'd met her wife and she was just done with pain and surgery and recovery. she had limited dysphoria still and she was content with how she could move through the world as a woman.

for the past four years, she's worked as the manager of the local water amusement park and she loves it. with management comes a lot more than finances, it's about human resources management as well, customers, and new initiatives that generate more than numbers. she sees how much the park is enjoyed by the visitors and she can see the actual realizations in the new rides. she has to work in tandem with the other manager (wanted connection). that doesn't always go smoothly, but she's proud of what they've realized together.

she's also proud of the tranquil home she's created together with her wife and she's content, even though their busy jobs make it tough to really spend enough time together. her own ethical objections to aquaria don't always help either. still, their differences make them an interesting couple - at least that's what lorena thinks. she cherishes the quiet dream of adding children to their family - their own, adopted or fostered. she's also scared of what impact that would have on their lives and their careers.

Wes was born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts by Ada and Laurence Evans. He was a healthy baby boy who came into a home full of love and adoring parents. Everything was perfect in the Evans household. Ada chose to be a stay at home mother once her daughter was born, Laurence was a well respected officer of the Salem Police Department, Wes and his older brother got along and did well in school, and Wes was a little pianist prodigy.

The town knew the Evans to be a happy little family, but a lot went on behind closed doors. Wes remembered the first fight he overheard from his parents. When he was younger he didn’t understand it, but as he got older he knew his father had accused Ada of having an affair that resulted in the birth of Wes. Perhaps that was why Laurence couldn’t look at him sometimes, despite Wes and his father sharing similar features. Ada and Laurence argued about it regularly, but after a traumatic night on the force, Laurence began drinking. That one night and that one glass was all it took for Laurence to fall back into bad habits Wes had never realized were previously there.

That’s when everything got really bad. Laurence mostly took his anger out on Wes, and as the Evans kids got older, Wes made sure to do everything he could to protect his little sister. And once Wes was older, bigger, and stronger, Laurence held off a bit from his “punishments”.

It was hard to live like that, and once all the Evans kids were in high school, Wes spent his nights going to parties and hooking up with the girls in his classes, wanting nothing more but something to take his mind off everything and attempt to fill that void inside himself. It never worked but for a moment.

After years of enduring this and after all of the Evans’ kids were much older, Ada decided she had enough. She divorced Laurence and moved herself and the kids to Asbury, where some of her family still resided after having moved to there from France when Ada was just a baby.

Here, Wes and his siblings would try to make new lives for themselves. Wes was nineteen when they moved and he got a job at Porta and eventually saved up to get his own apartment. And one night he met a woman around his age and they instantly fell for each other and started dating. A year or so after being together, she found out she was pregnant

The two decided they would keep the baby, and despite Wes’ past of being unruly and wild, he tries his best to become a better man for his girlfriend and daughter. However, he and his girlfriend split up about a year ago and they have been on again off again since. Wes has struggled to make something good out of himself in Asbury, but he’s still trying.

⸻  BACKGROUND

boone delmont was a name well known to the authorities and, if anything, that only further coaxed the chief’s rebellious daughter into the dirtbag’s bed. was still just a kid himself at 15 years when jonesy was brought into the world.

unfortunately for the junior delmont, his mom passed due to unforeseen complications after giving birth, and so he was left with only his dad and paternal grandmother. considering boone was a deadbeat, on top of being in and out of jail, grandma delmont was the one to look after jonesy through his childhood.

so without having a hope in hell from the get go, jonesy was raised in the sweltering depths of louisiana in a household that always had some form of drugs or alcohol ( usually both ) at his family's disposal at any given time. therefore, he was exposed to these addictions at a very early age and would eventually follow the same path, but to a lesser degree.

as the apple of his grandma's eye, for some reason, he could do no wrong. when, in fact, he did very wrong, at any given moment. jonesy was labelled a problem child by his teachers. it started off with him being an annoying punk kid, disrupting class and clowning around with his friends. but as he got older, the problem grew with him.

fist fights were a common occurrence whenever he was in attendance at school. so if he didn't skip, he was sent home regularly. however, he never let his grandma know the difference ( if she'd even notice anyway ) and he'd stay out on the streets all day -- drinking, smoking, wreaking havoc on the city -- until school was let out and it'd be time for him to go home.

eventually, jonesy would flip a final fuck you to the system and drop out of high school. who needs big brains?? certainly NOT him. instead of pursing a fruitful career like every other kid on the block, he acquired the necessary license to become a long haul driver because 1) he wanted to travel and 2) what else was he gonna do.

rootin great rapport via walkie talkie channels with all his trucker buds, tootin his loud ass horn down the highway at every little car that tried to cut him off, jonesy was content with this way of life. until he met some guru at some bar, somewhere along the way home. then he was apparently motivated to turn his life around, going on to get his GED and then apply to a college in asbury park - a seaside town he'd stopped in between his routes to stay overnight and fell in love with.

when word spread of this, he inherited ( really was given ) a whole ass trailer home in silver sands from a relative. rumor has it some shady business was going on in there and so having jonesy live there was all a cover up to keep the cops from sniffing around. but whatever the reason, he didn't care. he got a free home, away from his grandma and dad.

without ever having any real big bills to pay, thanks to the inheritance, jonesy did well to save up a huge chunk of his earnings. he quit his long-haul job and was able to live comfortably until kicking off his new career. while attending college, he completed an apprenticeship at hot rod auto shop and then eventually got hired on.

having been a mechanic for hot rod for nearly a decade now, he's been through all kinds of ups and downs. his grandma passed away and nobody told him ( he found out by calling for a wellness check on her ), he lowkey became an alcoholic by trying to drink his sorrows away, and his house was broken into one night by a couple guys he used to run with ( he thinks ), which resulted in him almost getting shot for trying to fight off the assailants. safe to say now, he keeps a pistol tucked away for future intimidation ( which he may or may not legally own ).

homeboy has no qualms when it comes to protecting his territory and his people, and is no stranger to violence.

he has a soft spot for his co-workers aka his found family. to make up for being so shitty when he was younger, jonesy does his best now to help out where he can and looks out for his own.

drives an old volkswagen van to transport his surfboards and sometimes camp on the beach with, but also owns a loud af dirtbike that he rips around on at night to 'clear his head'.

checks in on his dad every so often bc as much as he tainted jonesy's childhood, the senior delmont also showed him some sort of love in his own fucked up way.

deep down, like way deep, jonesy knows he's toeing a dangerous line between maintaining his own path and veering onto the same road his dad went down. it's terrifying, but he won't speak a word about it bc talking about feelings and being vulnerable wasn't taught in his family. so he just bottles that shit up.
