"Now tell me why they'd make the honey flavoured lube bottle identical to the cute little bearr bottles at the supermarket?" She had demanded, picking up the object and showing the blonde. Truthfully, she didn't know why they decided to come in here, just one of those random decisions, but every time Phoebe entered the store, there was always something new to catch her eye. "God, next time I put honey on my yogurt I'll just been thinking of what these poor bears have seen." She tossed the little bottle around, her brain overthinking nonsense once again. "Also, why is it always bears for the honey bottles? Apart from Pooh Bear, what bears are associated with honey? Where are the bee bottles? Not that the poor bees should also see weird honey-lube sex, I'm all for saving them, but like...the injustice, y'know?"

Mallory needed to get her frustrations out, and late nights at the office and endless supplies of coffee simply weren’t going to cut it. So, she decided to try something different, or well, at least something she hadn’t done in a while, joining the local gym. It was fine, she supposed, though completely understood why people opted to get their own if they had the monetary needs to. She had decided to take things easy with the treadmill, waiting until one was free, noticing a loose AirPod sitting in the cup holder primarily used to hold phones. “Excuse me?” She called out to the nearest person who had left the treadmill area, “Is this yours? I’d be careful, you know, they can get quite expensive and you never know what seedy idiots are going to come through the door.”

— characters: hana & asher — setting: bonfire bash in bighorn hills — partner: @asherfranklin
When it came to the rugged outdoors Hana's only experience was only by way of photoshoot sets. She'd been to some incredible places, no doubt, but everything had been very carefully controlled. This bonfire and camping tent stuff was so far out of her wheelhouse that it was in another country.
"You don't think there's bears out here, do you?" Wide-eyed as the realization hit after walking and mingling around the landscape a bit, the former model looked imploringly at the blonde.
"It's bad enough I reek like that bug spray stuff but do I have to wear some kind of bear repellant, too?" The guide and sale associate at the outdoorsman shop had thrown too much information at Hana at once and she was feeling overwhelmed.

— asher franklin & yas dogan bonfire event, bighorn.
Somehow, in some magical force of irony, she ended up in the same space of the two people who she's spent the entire night trying to avoid thinking about. First, there was Yasemin, bumping into the woman as she walked around the fire in the direction of her tent, her steps freezing as soon as she laid eyes on the woman, brain suddenly void of anything she could say. Their run-in at the pumpkin farm left her with little hope that anything she said was going to fix what they'd been through and they certainly weren't going to change the other's mind. "Sorry, I..." Sage trailed off, hand waving in the direction of her tent not far off from where they were standing, yet her feet made no effort to move and her gaze stilled on Yasemin, watching the flames from the fire flicker dangerously against her dark gaze. "I was just heading back to my tent. I didn't mean to..." Then, a twig snapped somewhere nearby and her attention flitted to the source, and there was Asher. Her heart dropped into her stomach and her fist clenched tighter around the neck of her warm beer bottle. A simple name fell between the three of them. "Ash."

Since the fallout with Asher, Yasemin had been doing her best to respect her best friend's anger and need for space. That hadn't stopped her from texting Asher every day with a mix of apologies, random thoughts, and everything else in between, but she'd managed to not go hunt Asher down in person. After her recent run-in with Sage, however, Yas knew she needed to go pin Asher down to talk. Even if it was just to let Asher know where her head was at with possibly moving, she needed to see her best friend. With an extra lunch in hand, Yas left her office a bit before when she knew Asher would be leaving hers and beelined over to Asher's door. Poking her head in, teeth biting nervously at her lower lip, Yas knocked softly on the door to alert Asher to her presence. "Hi. Can we...talk? I brought lunch. Or if...if you're not ready to talk, can I sit here anyway?"

𝙰𝚂𝙻𝙸𝙷𝙰𝙽 𝙵𝙰𝙷𝚁𝙸-𝙱𝙰𝙸𝙻𝙴𝚈 & 𝙰𝚂𝙷𝙴𝚁 𝙵𝚁𝙰𝙽𝙺𝙻𝙸𝙽
Over her years of being in Providence Peak, she's been through quite a lot of experiences and met quite a handful of people. One of them being Asher Franklin. Finding an OBGYN during her second pregnancy had been difficult, especially considering her pregnancy concerns from her pregnancy with Alex and wanting someone who'd be willing to help her in case she went through placenta previa again. Yet, she'd been fortunate to find Asher. And even though she lost Theodora almost half-way through her pregnancy, they've remained friends over the next near two years. It amazed her how much they've gone through each other together, especially now with her third pregnancy, yet she cared very much about Asher. And she knew the other cared about her as well. Having been reading one of the books Eli gotten for her from home, she'd been feeling the most relaxed right now than she has within the past few days, finally. She noticed a familiar flash of blonde hair and smiled warmly as she closed her book. "Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes," she mused. "I promise, I've been on my very best behaviour. Even though I was going a bit stir-crazy for a moment there."

"Isn't there something so good about an underdog story though? Everyone bets on you to lose it all, but when you win... it feels so much better than if it was expected the whole time." She'd clawed her way from the bottle, all the way to the top, only to humble herself at the start of her career. It was confusing, but every step felt rewarding once she'd leaned away from law. "I'm glad we're on the same page," she countered with her bottom lip tucked between her teeth. Even if it was a completely nerdy thing to bond over, she didn't care. "That's cute. Being there for the both of them, even if you have ulterior motives," she teased with a gentle nudge to the other's arm. Surely it meant that Asher never knew a lonely night. "And how good are you at the annoying part?"
"I just like better odds," she admitted, Asher was competitive to a fault, which was why she did her best to avoid circumstances where she'd be likely to lose. "I'm down for anything," she quipped, "plus I wouldn't be against spending a bit more time with you." It was forward, but Asher had never been one to sugarcoat anything. She nodded at the question, "we actually live together," he explained, "it's messy but I moved in a while back when she needed someone, so I've been there for Maggie's whole life." She smiled, "though I will admit, one of my favourite past-times is annoying her."

With Asher back at the hospital, it made things a little easier for Bennett when he needed a break from everything. It wasn’t unusual for her to let him hide out in her office, but it wasn’t like he’d ever given her a solid reason as to why he needed that time alone. Just like usual, Bennett had checked with an intern before knocking on Asher’s door and pushing it open, only to step inside and close it behind him. “Good to have you back,” he hummed, moving to take a seat with a hum of relief. “It’s been busy with peds today. I just need a moment to breathe and I’m not chancing an intern having an on-call room meltdown again. I can’t comfort another crier. Not today,” he continued, looking over her way. “You good?”

when: midday who: liesl and asher ( @asherfranklin )
“And how’s this little bundle of cuteness doing today?” Liesl-Anne cooed, reaching in to gently scoop up Prue from her bassinette, cradling the baby close to her chest. “My gosh, she’s gotten heavy.” She mused at Asher, who was pottering around the kitchen. Sure, Prue was still on the smaller side, but Liesl remembered her in the NICU, and she’d been practically tiny then. She’d definitely done a lot of growing in the past few weeks. “How’s she sleeping?” Liesl asked, rocking the little girl back and forth slowly.

A faint red tint dusted over her cheeks at the compliment. She never really considered herself adorable, but it was one of the nicer things she had been called unexpectedly, so she’d take it. “Who wouldn’t want to act out a rom-com fantasy? Like knocking on all the doors on Christmas Eve, or holding a boombox up out the window?” She countered. “Especially with you at work, I bet it’d be handy though, saves you walking through the hospital.” Phoebe laughed. At Asher actually hitting the target board, she let out a small cheer. “Look at you, lumberjacks everywhere are shook.” It was light teasing, her genuine pride for her friend shining through with a bright smile.
@asherfranklin
She nodded, those weren't terrible ideas. "Can we just talk about how adorable you are, that your superpower is to aid you in hosting barbecues and acting out rom-com fantasties," she grinned. Asher's mind didn't operate in quite the same way, her choice was pure convenience. "Well, yeah?" she questioned, not having considered that her clothes would stay behind. "It wouldn't exactly be very family friendly if I just turned up naked wherever I went," she declared. She laughed as Phoebe doubled down on her decision about curling. "Thanks," she said, taking the axes from Phoebe and taking her turn. She hit the target near the edge with both, which she was taking as a success.

characters: atlas williams & @asherfranklin
Atlas had always enjoyed conversations with Asher. Whether that was because he’d just wanted piss Sage off or not, he hadn’t figured out. In the last month or so, the male had avoided the jagged yard. Truth was, he couldn’t risk seeing Sage there and knowing the truth that was behind the bar. Due to his avoidance of the bar and the hospital too, he hadn’t spoke to the younger Franklin sister since Sage had revealed her pregnancy to him. It made him wonder; how many other people too? “Asher,” he called out, moving around his almost empty cart to greet her with a grin. “How’s it going? It’s been awhile,” he trailed off, wondering if she’d mention the baby or avoid the topic entirely. Either way, he wanted to find out.

characters: Oakley Grey & @asherfranklin
Visiting Joanna at work was always something Oakley had to prepare for. Truth was, it was never easy watching drunken bar-goers inevitably hit on her girlfriend. She trusted Jo, knowing that the woman had been nothing but honest with her about everything, but sometimes it didn’t make the sight much easier to see. “I don’t think I’ll ever be completely used to people hitting on her,” she hummed, the person next to her at the bar probably confused by her words. “I’m not meaning to unload or whatever. I just,” she paused, turning toward the female. “I’m sorry. It’s not a big deal. Can I buy you a drink? For almost making you listen to me complain?”

— asher franklin franklin home, claret park.
She had to admit that she lingered much longer than she intended to during the handoff between her and Atlas at the faire, dawdling as opposed to dragging herself back home and mentally preparing herself for the moment that the front door opened and her sister walked through it for the first time in weeks. Sage had no clue what she was going to say, or how she was going to say it, but she did know that she had to clear the air between them one way or another, even if that meant spilling details that she'd kept hidden deep inside until that very day — even if that meant admitting to things that she'd never admitted to anyone else, even herself. Anything to get her sister back. The front door opened while she was tossing the last of Maggie's toys into the basket in the living room and she straightened up at the sound, pausing until caught sight of Asher in the entryway. "Hey, uh, thanks for coming by." There was an odd politeness to it, as though they were two acquaintances rather than sisters. "I know I don't deserve it, but I wanted a chance to explain... what happened, how it happened, why it happened. I know it's not going to magically fix everything, but..." Maybe it would give the other a chance to sit on it, with all of the information, and decide if it was worth staying in her life. "Do you want anything to drink?"

“It’s nice to meet you, Val.” She said with a smile. When she noticed the other put the closed sign up and walk away, the blonde got nervous that she was about to get turned down. She headed to the back of the truck as well and nodded at her words. “I’m definitely serious.” She commented before taking a deep breath and swallowing. “I’m in the need of a career change. My last one… I lost the joy in it. I was a doctor and, um, lost some friends and other life things came up and it got to be too much, you know?” She paused for a moment. “But I love baking. I have since I was a kid. It helps me relax and keeps my mind busy. Which I could definitely use right now.” Asher explained. “I’ve only ever done it at home and while I think I’m good, I haven’t been trained or anything so I’m probably not close to your level, but if you need me to prove myself or something, I can.” She let out a sigh. “I just… I really need something. And I have put in other places, but this… this seems more like myself. And things haven’t felt that way for me in a while.”
***
Valerie had never had anyone be so serious about an inquiry before. Usually, it was a lame attempt at flirting or someone wanting to try out the experience of a food truck, but Asher seemed genuine in her request. Val’s tongue fell atop her bottom lip as she thought about what having an employee would do. Would it help make the storefront happen? How much money was the blonde expecting to make? Truth was, she’d never touch a doctor’s salary, even on the best days of business. “So, you want to leave behind being a doctor for a baker? That’s what I’m hearing?” It was a huge career change, but who the hell was Val to judge? “Baking isn’t something you can learn in school.” You could, but it didn’t make you good at it. “If you’ve been baking for awhile, then you know it’s more of a science.” Val had learned that the hard way through her mother. “What if we tried it out? You could help me prep stuff and work a few days or weeks to see if it’s something you really want to do. I’ve never had help before, so I’ve been doing this on my own for years. If it’s something you’re serious about, then I think we could probably make something work.”
