Today in pastry school one of the culinary students insinuated that I used only salt and pepper as spices in my food and I don’t think I’ve ever been more offended in my life
#first off I’m brown#i literally put spices in desserts maam this shit runs through my veins#tbh I think she’s just salty that they (the culinary majors) are struggling in this intro baking class#while we (the pastry majors) do just fine in the culinary class#aside ofc from having a mild heart attack anytime the chef said it didn’t matter if stuff was exact#also in our fundamentals of cooking class our instructor was like#I’m gonna teach you to make things taste good with just salt and pepper#if that ain’t the whitest shit I ever heard#and spoiler alert he did not do that#shit was bland AF#to be fair I didn’t eat most of it because it was meat and I’m a vegetable#but everyone else in the class said it was#aside from the one white kid#once one of my classmates brought in his own spice blend to use#and the chef liked it#like hmm I wonder why
