Hiya!! ☺️ I have a drabble or one shot request for Paz! (Fluff and/or smut or whatever direction you want to take it)
Okayy feels warning: Basically I am in feeling... down lately...and idk, unseen I guess in my current relationship (I feel like we are speaking different languages and so we only end up talking or being able to talk on a very surface level. Ultimately ...there’s just a lack of connection and understanding at the moment) so I would love a Paz comfort or taking care of reader scenario to live vicariously through, if you’re up for it 💕😌
You got it! Hope you like this! If you don’t, please let me know and I'll write something else. Thank you so much for your request :) I wrote this gender neutral because I didn’t want to assume. Hope that is okay!

When Paz finally came in from working on the ship, you were curled up in a blanket by the fireplace. It was a small cabin but thankfully when the engines malfunctioned you were close enough to make it work. The planet was absolutely freezing and without temperature modulated armor like the man close to you, you surely would have frozen to death by now.
“Are you cold, mesh’la?”
You shrugged, not bothering to actually answer him. You heard his helmet thunk onto the table before his heavy steps got closer.
“Are you sick?”
“No, Paz. I’m fine.”
Your voice was much more clipped than you wanted it to be but part of you hoped that he would just leave you alone. You weren’t in the mood to talk nor were you wanting to explain why you were upset. You should have known better than to think Paz would ever let you sit alone sulking.
“Are you hungry? I know I’m hungry.”
You tried to stop the light laugh from escaping you but failed. You saw his face light up at your reaction and he scooted closer, wrapping an arm around your waist. You grumbled but nestled into him regardless. You hissed when your shoulder touched his cold armor, and he slipped the blanket back over you.
“Sorry. I’ll get out of the armor. I forget how cold the outside of it gets.”
You watched him slowly pull all the pieces off his body. It was hard to forget just why you were upset in the first place until he started mumbling in Mando’a. Your face fell so you turned back to the fire so he hopefully wouldn’t see it.
“I saw that, cyar’ika. Please talk to me.”
Your chest tightened at the idea of actually complaining to him. He was doing everything for you. He worked on the ship every day and came inside to keep you company as much as he could. The fire was always warm, and you never went hungry. When he pulled the books out of the ship, he had stashed for you “just in case” you wanted to cry. He was a wonderful man to you. Why was it so hard to just find a way to make him understand how you were feeling?
“I just.. Paz sometimes I feel like we just don’t understand each other. Or maybe we just.. don’t fit together.”
He quickly pulled you into his lap, having you straddle him and holding you close. There wasn’t anything overtly sexual about what he was doing, he really just wanted you close to him.
“I think we fit perfectly, mesh’la.”
You sighed and put your forehead on his chest in frustration.
“That isn’t what I mean.”
You sat back up and he was looking at you intently, his beautiful hazel eyes looking back at you.
“Talk to me. I’ll listen.”
“You’re just this.. amazing warrior. You speak this beautiful language that I can’t even begin to comprehend. You’re so strong and steadfast to your creed. And I’m just..”
“You, ner riduur, are the most amazing person I have ever met. From the moment I saw you, I knew that no one else could ever compare to you. I like being your warrior. I like taking care of you. I like knowing that while I am working hard, you are comfortable in here where it is warm. When I spoke my vows to you, I meant every word I said. Do you not believe them?”
“What? No! Of course, I believe them. Stars, I know that you love me.”
“Then what is the problem? If you are not feeling loved and adored, then I must be doing something wrong.”
“That isn’t even close to true. Please don’t take my feelings as an indication that you’re doing something wrong. I don’t want you to ever feel like that.”
You leaned forward and rest the side of your face on his chest, closing your eyes at the steady sound of his heart. He ran his hands up and down your back gently with the only sound in the room the crackling fire.
“I understand if you aren’t ready to talk, cyar’ika, but when you are, I will be right here. And if I’m not right here I will be outside fixing the ship so we can get off this very cold planet.”
You chuckled at his literal explanation of where he could possibly be. When you sat up again, he cupped each side of your face, gently wiping away the tears you had no idea had even slipped out.
“I guess.. I guess I’m just frustrated at the barriers between us. I didn’t grow up like you.”
“I am glad for that. My life has not been easy, cyare.”
“I’m so weak and soft though.”
“I also like that. You fit perfectly right here in my arms. Wouldn’t be as comfortable if you were wearing armor like me.”
You cracked a smile and shook your head.
“I.. don’t even know your language.”
Your eyes looked down and he gently pulled your face back up to him.
“Is this what is bothering you, cyar’ika?”
“I heard you talking on the ship. I.. I went out to see how you were doing and you were talking in Mando’a. I heard you say my name but you just sounded so.. angry.”
“Oh, my sweet love, did you think I was upset with you?”
You shrugged and looked sheepishly up at him. He let out a roar of a laugh and kissed you gently.
“I could never feel anything but love for you. I was telling the Armorer that we were stuck, and I was worried about you. It’s very cold here and I don’t want you to get sick or hurt because of my stupid ship. You are my entire soul, cyar’ika. Stars, I am so sorry.”
He brushed your hair back and looked at you with so much adoration and devotion you felt your chest swell.
“Though I am upset you went outside in that horrible weather, don’t ever feel like you need to hide from me. I will always listen. I will always love you.”
“Do you promise that you will tell me if you are upset with me?”
“Absolutely, ner riduur. We are in this life together. I am not going anywhere without you.”
You smiled and let him pull you to his chest. He kissed the top of your head and pulled the blanket across you.
“I will also teach you Mando’a.”
“You will?”
“Of course, my love. Anything you could ever want, you have it. Just say the words.”
“What about you?”
“I already have what I need, cyar’ika.”
You sat up, letting the blanket slip down to your waist. He kissed you passionately, tangling his large hands in your hair. When he pulled away, he pressed his forehead to yours carefully.
“I already have you. There is nothing else I could possibly want or need. I am yours, eternally.”
