hi miss mao !! hope ur doing well <3 i had a thought while messing around on my hsr account about how guinaifen is a xianzhou localised name given to her by sushang, that maybe if in an ideal universe aventurine gets to cut his contract to the ipc and i assume live with you on the xianzhou, would you give him a similarly localised name? if so, what would it be? if you do i’d love to know the meaning behind the characters you chose. what also partly inspired this question is that recently my cn speaking friends localised my nickname into cn (莉安) which was very cool haha. of course, it’s fine if you’d prefer not to answer this! hope you have a good day :D

I actually don't need to make up a localized name for aventurine also - he already has chinese one! in the original chinese his name is 砂金 "shajin", which is sort of an alternate writing of 沙金。this term commonly refers to either imitation gold or the kind of gold that you get from sifting dirt. supposedly it can also mean "aventurine" since that's the term used for the aventurine cornerstone in chinese, though I'd never heard this before playing the game, so I cannot personally confirm that. EITHER WAY, I do rather like the name, it is pretty and also super painful in its implications 😔✌️

my original selfship name with him was based on this name - jinmao - but it was too similar to the couple in apothecary diaries so I changed it to an english selfship name LOL

hello miss mao…….. i hope i am not overstepping but i saw !!! cultural exchange !!! and oml all the food looked so good RAHHHH need them in my mouth rn actually 🤤🤤🤤 but if i may 👉👈 offer a breakfast from my culture 👉👈

nasi kerabu !!! it looks like a lot and honestly. yeah, it is LMAO but going clockwise starting from 12, the condiments/sides are: sliced cucumbers, sliced long beans, mixed sliced torch ginger and kaffir lime leaves, salted egg, fried chicken stewed in spicy sauce, fish crackers, bean sprouts and sliced cabbage !! the topping on top of the blue rice is toasted shredded coconut. the rice itself is blue because it’s cooked with the flower presented on top !! it’s a huge breakfast that i indulge in once in a while, though i take mine with grilled beef and bell peppers stuffed with a mixture of fish, shredded coconut and coconut milk 🤤🤤🤤 suffice to say after downing this bad boy i pretty much don’t eat until dinner SLSKDKSK
