A CHALLENGER APPROACHES!

(( Low-key wondering if anyone happened to notice this little pattern I've been doing for the last 7 years...

Practically the only tradition I've managed to keep alive, because... this blog's got no updates outside of this yearly post. Basically, with Kisno's lore, I determined his birthday to be on April 2nd.

The reason for that, I'll just say something happened ten years ago to the day, left me in such a dark cloud. It's still pretty personal so I don't really want to elaborate too much, but I do want to finally at least share a part of it.

I still sometimes think back to it and wondered if it was just a very cruel April Fools joke, but technically it all took place in the wee hours of the next early morning. Even though I had class that day and I shouldn't have stayed up, I didn't care because I tried to mend things, to no avail. With the rest of the day feeling super numb.

All because I had this random idea of wanting to start my own Nerdling blog, and it came crashing down from there.

It didn't happen immediately but a couple of months later, after I felt better and separated myself from the scenario as a whole, I thought up of this comfort character, just thoughts that would pop up and then a couple sketches being drawn and a simple outline. That's where Kisno came to be. This... interesting Koopaling who was then written to be Nerdling's old friend, turned co-star of the blog. Writing and drawing about Kisno really helped me move past what happened. I was writing A LOT of stories with this Koop... and I hope those stories aren't lost to time, I need to dive deep into my hard drive.

But when it came back to that particular day, I wanted to focus on replacing it with something a little more positive. Instead of, "Oh, it's the day where this happened." I could now say "Oh my gosh, it's Kisno's birthday!"

Thought I'd write a little story time since it has already been that long, and I hardly think about it anymore. Heck, compared to how I was before when recalling it gave me chills and butterflies in my stomach; now when I think back, all I can really think about is Kisno's birthday and my head no longer brings me back to that night, so... it worked!

Any who, what did Kisno get for his birthday this year? Aside from oodles of goodies from today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, how about a WHOLE FREAKING NEW CHARACTER?!

Well, okay, they're not a Koopaling. They won't be joining the blog. They're not even related to Mario! But they are a character that's not specifically tied to any kind of IP... They're actually a character that I wanted to represent myself a bit more personally. I think you know where I'm going with this so I'll stop there. :')

Thing is, they're still unfinished. STILL, unfinished. I thought up of them almost two and a half years ago, and I'm still wishy-washy about it. Character creation is already hard, but... creating a character for ME?! Goddess of Hylia, help me...

So, they're in the hazy, "?" Super Smash Bros. mystery character silhouette for now. I may drop a couple hints on some of my socials but... that remains to be seen.

Hmm. You know, I don’t see enough instances of this to have a solid feel for it. But I have to admit, I think it could be something pretty cute, if taken at face value for what it is. It’s a cute dynamic, and a cute way to help a couple grow closer in different scenarios.

It’s absolutely hilarious, though, if the couple is engaging in role play, and then someone just kind of interrupts or walks in. And they’re just all, “Heeyyy…why are you two in…I don’t want to know anymore.” Now that’s when it’s funny.

Noticing a rather peculiar looking fellow in the crowd of costumes, something in particular dragged him closer. Not so much of the interesting costume he had, but the smell of magic. Next thing he knew he was tapping on the strangers shoulder to get his attention.“Hi! I like your costume! You really went all out! Those teeth almost look real! Unless they are than that’s cool and weird! Couldn’t help but notice you had a neat wand thing there, are you like a magikoopa?”

(( FUSION MEME 2/2! Here’s the rest! Again all the info will be under the read more, hope you guys like them! u vu ))

Boom/Cujo @askcujotehchainchompz : Basically you take the anger and rage they got bottled up and then open it up when these two fuse. A beast that’s going to basically destroy anything in their path. With their combined brawn there’s hardly much room for brains, together they can hardly form a coherent sentence let alone recognize friend from foe. Wouldn’t recommend coming near this fusion.  Pom/Larry @ask-larry-koopa : Much more compatible than the other Larry! These two combined become a fun ball of energy. A little mischievous and hyper but overall cheerful ray of sunshine. Constantly wanting to play games and takes absolutely nothing seriously. They’re like a child hyped up on twenty pounds of sugar. Be careful though, they’re fast and will disappear from your sight the second you blink. Good luck keeping track of them. Boom/Peach @askpeachycare : Hoo boy, these two are a power house, but with a dash of sweet. No one’s going to be capturing this princess anymore when they’re fused. Boom’s loyal nature makes it a little hard for them to fuse at first, seeing as Peach is pretty much the enemy, but when they both have someone to protect he has no problem lending her his strength. Surprising their fusion is very stable, Peach’s leadership is just what Boom needs to keep him calm and orderly. After they beat the crap out of whoever tries to mess with their friends, they’ll politely inform the foe on what they did wrong before kicking them the heck out.  Spiorch/Nerdling @askthenerdling : So just to clarify, any fusion with Spiorch would come out pretty monstrous, be it physically or mentally. Spiorch feasts on whatever magic he can get his hands on and doesn’t really leave much room for anyone else. Don’t worry, Nerdling’s in there somewhere, but Spiorch’s psychotic mental state does pretty well to overpower the poor guy. It’s going to be hard to separate the two after that, Spiorch has a clinging problem.  Bonus fusion because someone literally just mentioned it! @ryookiarts Pom/Iggy @asktehkoopz : They were both expecting it to be horrid and monstrous, and it turned out to be the opposite. Their opposing personalities basically complete each other to make a more balanced person than either of them are separately. Together they use tactical approaches in battle instead of running in first and figuring it out later, but don’t spend days planning the “most perfect ideal attack plan ever”. Even when their mission is done, they find themselves going about their lives still fused because it’s comfortable and actually pretty nice. WHO KNEW.

((OOC: Tiny turtle child with bigger turtle guy! This is a fusion between my Lemmy and @askthenerdling​‘s cute koopa, Mark. >:O

Considering Lemmy is drift compatible with anyone, their fusion’s pretty stable, albeit very VERY excitable. Infused with Mark’s paintbrush and harnessing Lemmy’s magic, they have the ability to summon killer paintballs to thwart their enemies. Or just mess around and paint a whole room seven colors in .5 seconds. I’d like to imagine that their limbs can turn into goopy magic paint too.

The only thing that’d probably be able to separate them is if it’s Lemmy’s naptime and falls asleep while still fused.))

Kisno's been gifted a power-up and it's no wonder he's having fun with it!

((Another year goes by, another revisit for this curious Koop. With Super Mario Wonder coming out back in October, a game I still haven't finished. :') I wanted to let Kisno have a little fun with that new power-up! I could've given him the Elephant Fruit but... they weren't in season yet...

Still enjoy drawing him to this day. ;v; Also, purple looks really lovely on him. ;v; ))
