The airdash animation from Hylics 2 is a reference to one of Mason's first games, Asmosnos, where the main character has a very similar flying animation.

Oh?? New SOLANNE C HYLICS art is indeed on the way!!
The first two photos are a part of an upcoming illustration series to promote THE HYLEMXYLEM, the best server for any HYLICS fan to be in!! Each piece shares a thing that I love about that place.
The third photo was supposed to be first revealed in March's newsletter (that I need to repost from website to here ww). It's a paracosm piece! Where Somsnosa finds Wayne enjoying some otherworldly flowers within Dracula's pocket dimension full of special gifts from other D. Sectors. ☆

(decres not included bc she technically is included as an alternate costume)
random rambling abt notsnosa/somsnosa-like unused character below
Notsnosa is a kind of interesting character,,,is she somsnosa?? is she related to soms?? who is she i dont know
ive been calling her mono (a corrupted form of asmosnos) bc like,,,she looks like somsnosa, so it would be kinda cute if she was also named after one of mason's games

the work of mason lindroth is totally independent of anything ive ever seen before, it gives of slight city off tiny lights vibes and really pushes the boundaries of claymation.
i am in love with the interesting and trippy vibes, the way the shapes seem so malleable and alive and how the smoothness of the clay made from posterising is super cool
source for whats next.

Mason graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with focus on film, printmaking, and figure drawing[1]. He got into independent game design years after graduation and debuted in December 2012 with his first Ludum Dare entry, Asmosnos. Before Hylics was released, Mason also contributed several cassette cover illustrations for various artists in the 1080p Collection.
In March 2014, Mason began to post development teasers of Hylics, commenting that it would be more fleshed out than his previous RPG projects[2].
Between the release of Hylics and Hylics 2, Mason continued to make Ludum Dare submissions and several art commissions. He would continue to post development teasers for Hylics 2 without much detail, until he later set up a fundraiser in November 2018 to raise production funds for the game. It is unknown when Mason decided to recruit Chuck to work on the game's OST, but it occurred sometime during later game development between 2018 and 2019, as stated in an Instagram Q&A Livestream [3].

Hey! I love your art and your posts ovewall, and you seem to know a lot of stuff that seems really cool but not very poupular, if you could recommend some games or music i would appreciate it!
*cracks knuckles* Okay I’ll try here goes.  I like lots of stuff, but I’m going to try to stick to some of the lesser-known games I like, for this post.
(lots of these are Windows-only but bear with me)
The Battle for Wesnoth // One of my all-time favorite games.  It’s a turn-based strategy game with a fantasy theme.  The rules are fairly simple, but it has a good challenge.  Defeat enemies and uncover the stories behind Wesnoth by playing your armies across hexmaps versus friends or the computer!  Has a dedicated fanbase that spans worldwide, thanks definitely to lots of different translations built in.  It’s available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Mouth Sweet // An RPG Maker horror game with a unique FPS combat system.  After getting hired by C.C. & C. Inc., do your best to avoid the invisible monsters that stalk the building’s hallways… you’ll need some good headphones or speakers to know where to shoot them.  Has a Spanish translation, and a version for Linux.
Goblet Grotto // From the makers of Space Funeral!  I couldn’t win this one, but it doesn’t seem like the kind of game I’m good at, so… maybe you’d like it.  Play as some kind of toad man and collect the goblets.  If the instructions are any clue, it’s a fairly large game with lots of fun things to see.  The Mac version may not work if your OS is too recent.
From Next Door // An RPG Maker horror game inspired by the works of Junji Ito.  I haven’t played this one, but I watched a playthrough and it seems pretty neat.  Namie has just moved into an unbelievably cheap and pleasant house in a nice neighborhood, but things take a strange turn when she discovers that one of the rooms in her new home is mysteriously locked…
Goodnight Jemmy // Another RPG Maker Game, with less horror than the above and more bizarre visuals.  You save some weird places and talk to some weird people.  It feels a lot like Yume Nikki, with some of Gingiva’s aesthetics thrown in (which makes a lot of sense considering the creator cited Kikiyama and myformerselves as some inspirations for the game).  It’s a short game that’s interesting to walk through and pretty cool to look at.
Hylics // A surreal RPG Maker game with digitized claymation graphics and randomly generated story text.  Follow the adventure of Wayne, wherever it is that he’s going..!  Its visuals are really good, and it costs $3 to download from the creator’s website or from Steam.
4-Lung Boy // A small monochromatic point-and-click game.  Its description is: “A week after moving to a small town, you are confronted by frustration, an astronaut, and striped siblings…”  It’s kind of hard to describe without spoiling it, since it’s so short, but I thought it was fun.
ASMOSNOS // A small in-browser game by the same guy who made Hylics!  A “futuristic story of betrayal, planetary annihilation, and dancing crazy”, you control a cool-looking little yellow pointy-headed dude who’s got a mission to carry out.
Sluggish Morss - A Delicate Time In History // I enjoy all of Jack King-Spooner’s games, but this one’s probably my favorite.  Follow Widok Daydat and her encounter with Sluggish Morss, a craft that can influence space and time, in this surreal sci-fi RPG Maker game.  Also, like with most of this guy’s games, watch out if you have issues with anything surrounding eye-strain or flashing.
Dinner With An Owl // A creepy little point-and-click game where you’re a guest for a mysterious man called Mr. Brown… help the other guests to escape from his mansion!  It’s a very atmospheric game, and worth at least a little look.  Has a German translation.
W.Essense // An in-development roguelike game inspired by The Battle for Wesnoth.  Choose your character, and set out to fulfill a quest– which will be different with every new game!  It hasn’t been updated in a while, and there’s a few little bugs, but it’s still mostly playable with tense turn-based combat, and has versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Hope you have fun trying these out!
