Lord Glitters is 7-1 favourite for Saturday’s 32Red Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster.

The David O’Meara-trained five-year-old landed the Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day at Ascot in October on only his second race since being brought to Britain from France.

Lord Glitter, who carries joint top weight of 9st 10lb with Crazy Horse, subsequently finished second in a Newmarket Listed race.

Ground conditions at Doncaster are set to be soft. 

Trainer Jedd O’Keeffe is considering a run at Aintree and possibly the French Champion Hurdle with Sam Spinner after he finished fifth to Penhill in the Stayers’ Hurdle last week.

Reflecting on the Cheltenham Festival run, O’Keeffe said: ‘I don’t think the way the race was run suited him as he would have appreciated some company in front. 

‘I don’t think the way the race was run suited him as he would haveappreciated some company in front.

‘The horse was probably a little inexperienced for making all on astage like that. If he’d had some company on the first circuit a stronger pacewould have seen him in a better light.

‘The plan is to go to Aintree, the track therewill suit. Ideally we’d like some company up front so we can help force it withsomething else or have something to aim at.

‘Depending on how he does at Aintree, the French Champion Hurdle is still a possible because if we do consider a novice chase campaign I’d probably prefer to finish him sooner so he can get valuable experience over fences in the autumn.’ 

A filly sister to the great Frankel has been born at owner Khaled Abdullah’s stud in Newmarket. The foal is by super stallion Galileo out of dam Kind.
