––––––––––––DYLAN IS AT his best friend’s door, knocking softly. he had a horrible fight and he couldn’t think to go to anyone else but this was their dynamic. he always came to the other when things went haywire and tonight was no different. he got into a fight with his significant other about something dumb which led to a very brutal confession about them cheating on him. and dylan, now absolutely defeated, is knocking at his best friend’s door, ready to just lay down. he needed this. @astrvlogical​ !

things had been rough since losing their little baby but they had kept it together. it had mostly been zach who had cleaned out the baby room they had made. cause he saw the shape marina had been in and he didn’t want to make it worse for her. and he had kept going to work everyday to keep things going, to keep their normal life rolling. but some things had come back to haunt him. when she told him she was pregnant, he had dropped the coke because it was the responsible thing to do. but now he had no baby to take care of so why did it matter? “i’m home.” the male said as he walked through the door and hung up his jacket. he was late home from work and his sluggish demeanor sure wasn’t because of work. zach hadn’t told her about picking back his old habit, knowing that she probably wouldn’t like it.

Natalya isn’t really a party person. She’s always been ostracized since she was a teen. The girl who spoke to things that weren’t there. Still, she can enjoy a drink every once in a while, though maybe she’s gone a bit too far this time. It’s not that she is slurring her words or anything, but this guy has been trying to get her to come upstairs for several minutes now, and she doesn’t know how many ways she can gently decline since she’s definitely in an intoxicated state. “I’m sorry, I just really would not like to, but thank you.” The female states again, wrapping her arms around herself. She’s casting looks around the room, trying to lock eyes with someone. He won’t go away.

the pairs relationship (or whatever it was really) was still fresh, but it felt like it was much longer. they met that one weekend his band was in town, hitting it o and exchanging numbers. they texted and had video chats when they could, but they hadn’t seen on another in person since the first time. something always came up and their schedule just didn’t coincide with one anothers. tonight was one of their video chat dates and zack had made sure he made it back to his hotel room in time so he didn’t miss it. he got the call right on time and answered it immediately, a bright smile on his face. “hey stranger!”

Theo glanced outside, noting how quickly the sun had been sinking under the horizon, painting the sky with its heavenly orange and pink lights. It felt as if a weight dropped in his stomach, as his eyes froze towards the sky, which began to fade to black.

“U-Uhm, I’m sorry to cut this conversation short, b-but I have to get back to my dorm now...” he stammered, grabbing his books and slinging his backpack over his shoulder; Theo had been studying in Princeton’s library, preparing for an in-class essay he had to write the next day, when the other person sat down with him and the pair began some small talk. However, when Theo felt that familiar feeling of nausea and a fever coming on, he knew what was coming, and that he had to leave.

        being the musician who’s trying to make both ends meet that he was, thomas would get a lot of job opportunities but then show up only to be told that the bar hired another singer. and today was one of those days. without hesitating, he sat at the bar and just ordered a beer, he was tired of this and just needed a drink. “oh hey, well the reason why i’m all alone is because i was supposed to be on that stage but i guess the guy who’s on there is way more talented,” he explained, a sigh leaving his lips.

      truthfully: she had him fucked up. yeah, he was here with someone else, but she wasn't supposed to be here with anyone. damian didn't care how long it had been ( three hundred and seventy-nine days, exactly ), he knew that she was meant for him. he could be with someone and not be attached. marina? she was different. feelings meant a lot to her. so the fact that she was draped on another man's arm meant something to her. he caught her eye, and even though she looked away, he didn't. he didn't even care that her date was staring him down 'cause the dirty blond knew what it was. marina did too –– which is why she escorted him in the other direction. it wasn't until later on when the party was filled and sweaty that he grabbed her and pulled her into the nearest corner. ❝ you need to leave. ❞ he closes his eyes and backtracks. ❝ actually, if you don't leave i'm going to kick your boyfriends ass. ❞

         olivia had loved kyle so intensly that it was honestly hard for her to imagine what not loving him felt like. they’re relationship was a mess, but he always managed to keep her coming back, and she rarely had the patience for anything like that. at this point he had been such a huge part of her life that even now he took up permanent space in her heart; even if she wished he hadn’t. she turned towards him as he stood next to her, shrugging with a sigh in response to his question. “ i honestly didn’t think i would either, ” she took a sip of her beer, finishing it and setting it down on a side table before tucking a loose strand of chocolate-brown hair behind her ear. “ it was kind of insane of me honestly… ” she shook her head, chuckling softly before turning to look at him. he looked good. she wished he didn’t. “ it’s like a special sort of torture… and i did it to myself. ” she chuckled at her misfortune, shaking her head and gazing out over the balcony again. 

          he glanced behind them towards the reception where everyone seemed to be celebrating his marriage except for him. he really didn’t know why his mother had convinced him to invite her but she had and he kinda hoped she wouldn’t come. “then why did you?” this had seemed like the worst kind of torture and she didn’t seem like one to put herself through that kind of pain. but then again he really couldn’t judge considering he had invited her and just married someone whom he really didn’t love. “yeah, well, between you and me you’re not the only one who’s torturing themselves here.” he figured there was no harm in being honest, it’s not like she would go in there and announce it to everyone. “i don’t love her. she’s nice and beautiful and a really amazing woman and i should love her but i don’t.”

“what do you mean your water broke?” he thought they would have more time because he could use all the time he could get. but the baby wouldn’t wait for his approval that was clear. “we haven’t even decided on a name yet!!” zach was starting to freak out, even though he had been aware of the thing growing in her belly for a long time but it was a big deal for him.

      the anger was evident on his face. he was trying his hardest to count to ten to calm himself down in his head but the moment her next phrase slips from her lips, he's in overdrive. ❝ oh i don't understand? ❞ he states, voice a little louder than a shout. ❝ okay so help me fucking understand then, marina. please. i'm just dying to know. ❞ he shoots up from his seat on her couch to move over to her. ❝ tell me why he told me that. tell me why your ex is texting you at three –– four in the morning as if you're not laying next to me! 'cause you're right. my brain isn't processing this bullshit your mouth is spewing me at this point. i swear to God if it's some bullshit, i'll walk out that door and never come back. so tell me the truth. ❞

he had been thinking about her a lot. zach never thought much about his own future until he met her because he know felt like they one have one together. them and a baby. and the more he had been thinking about it, the more it made sense. he was going to marry her, that was what he was supposed to do. the week before the male had been out looking for rings but the stores with the nice rings were out of his reach. he wanted to give that to her but he wasn’t a loaded guy. zach had been living on the edge ever since he moved away from his family when he was 16. but then as he was strolling down the street he found an vintage store with the perfect ring. something that would match the necklace she always had on. he had his fingers crossed and hoped that she would approve.

“marina, come here.” he told her as he was sitting in his living room, holding out his hand as it was searching for her. the ring felt heavy in her pocket. zach had never been a romantic person, so this was hard for him. but he wanted her to be his. “i started planning a speech but... i’m gonna get right to it.” the boy exhaled as he reached for the ring in his pocket, he didn’t have a box or anything. “i want you to marry me.” he now had the ring in display in front of her.
