I did end up inking these guys and the need to worldbuild hasn’t left and I’d better get it all out right now so here’s some more Saints of Eyes and Ears (name pending) stuff and close ups under the cut

- All are considered to be the highest of Saints, standing only below the Watcher/Listener Angels (this is a highly debated topic that caused the Great Divide between the Church of Watchers and the Church of Listeners) and the Creators themselves

- Each Saint got their distinctive ‘halo’ and title from a series of ancient paintings depicting their martyrdom that have been attributed to the writers of the Books of Lives (the central texts of Livolution faith which recount the events of the Life Series)

- For example, the Saint Grian was originally depicted clutching the dying body of Scar of the Desert with the sun around his head, leading to his designation as the Saint of the Desert Sun

- Saints are usually depicted with eyes before their martyrdom and either without eyes or with eyes closed or otherwise covered after their martyrdom by the Church of Watchers

- The reverse is true for the Church of Listeners: eyes hidden before death, and revealed after
