it was a rough few months but she moved into her aunts home, went to school for music production and begun to make something of herself

she soon was discovered by oliver 1/3 members of black vinyl and pulled her into the group, he’s to thank for getting her out of her rut and allowing her to express her emotions with lyrics

trevor vega reynolds. good ol’ trev. he comes from a rough neighborhood new york and usually doesn’t correct you when you assume it’s the city.i mean you think rough new york neighborhood and there’s streets and gangs and government housing and police buuuut, trev’s really from just outside of the city. specifically, a mobile home neighbood of shady pines where he was born. literally, was born in the house. totally one of those “i didn’t know i was pregnant” moments with his mom. or rather, “i refuse to acnkowledge im pregnant”

mama reynolds is a piece of work. came from a pretty strict background in the bible belt, but when she was 17 off and married some dude who took her up to new york. by the time she was twenty, she was divorced and pregnant and didn’t know who the dad was. well she knew who wasn’t the baby daddy. her ex husband. he was an ass. she did have it narrowed down to three guys though. maybe the married neighbor who lived three houses down. maybe that mechanic up in the city. maybe that police officer from a few towns over. 

his lineage was something he wondered about a lot growing up, always looking to see if he saw himself in any of the men his mother had any contact with. did they have the same eye color? the neighbor was tall and lanky too, but he was blonde. the police guy, he had the same hair, before he went bald. 

life was modest, simple. tv dinners more often than cooked meals, got lunch for free at school instead of those fancy ass lunch boxes with little notes from home in them. he let himself in after school, his mother usually working late shifts at the senior center. kinda raised himself, honestly. mom was always working or entertaining some guy or nursing a bottle of beer until she wound up married again. 

they moved then, he had more money, they lived in an actual house. trev got a tv and a nintendo 64, nicer clothes and shoes than he could imagine. more kids at school wanted to talk to him, he stopped hanging out with his old friends, moving up the social ladder. sort of. his mom was happier, if you could call it that, how she talked way faster, had these bursts of energy and then crashed, spending hours in her room. did her best to be super mom, even tried to leave him notes and shit, but would pass out before she could.

and as quick as it all came, the money, the shoes, everything- it was gone again. he kicked them out, called his mom a whore- cops got involved it was a big thing and they went right back to the trailer park. 

trev would rhyme and rap for fun, mostly with  his friends, mostly to be funny. had always had more of an interest in hip hop and rap, he would get old records and tapes from his neighbor. an older guy, who’s grandkids didn’t really visit anymore, would let trev come over for dinner when his mom was working, eventually taught him how to drive a stick shift. but school was stupid. he understood the material but it wasn’t like any of that mattered, as his mom said. being smart didn’t mean anything, people were still assholes regardless. eventually, he dropped out, started working a job in the city, random things here and there

he was cleaning and doing maintenance at some lower end studio on the weekends for extra cash, got to know some of the talent, was good with jokes, funny. people liked to laugh and once a producer found out he rapped, let him hop on the mic and produce a track. White Iverson was about his all time favorite player and released online as more of an afterthought, ended up getting some traction and attention.

so trev did a few mixtapes before getting signed and just like before, when his mom got married, a whole new world opened up to him, a world he wasn’t willing to let go of this time. success came quickly, getting interviews and attention, all of a sudden people giving a fuck and caring about what he had to say. it was addictive, the high of it all, the success, the attention. without a doubt, it went to his big ass head. 

trev loves his life. almost way too much. surrounded by yes men, anything is possible. he dabbles in this and that for the sake of it and has a sort of a complex reputation, he’s talented yes, and funny, but he’s also a mess? like an absolute fool with way too much money and influence than he knows what to do with. he loves a good time, a good looking girl, and isn’t too concerned with what other people say or think.

hi hi! so i’m super excited this rp is back because i missed it so much. i hope this runs as smoothly as last time! i’m currently a mess and in college that’s burying me under so much work and all so that’s fine! anyway, let me tell you a little bit about oliver. i’m super bad that intros so bare with me. but like this and i will come at you to plot with all your beautiful muses!

oliver was born in los angeles, california. born into a very rich family with a little sister. she’s twenty and is in college up in paris. growing up he knows he was very fortunate. a rich family. what kid wouldn’t want that? but it came with a price, oliver was very much abused growing up, rather it came from verbal or physical from his father. his mother couldn’t do anything and then when he was fifteen she divorced his father and oliver still holds some grudge again that. she moved across the country and that’s all oliver wanted to do was go with his mother.

after high school, oliver attended nyu, but soon dropped out when he was twenty-one to do something he wanted to do since he was in middle school. be in a rock band. he succeeded. having roping one of his close friends to start it with him.  his father doesn’t talk to him anymore because of this and oliver doesn’t mind sometimes.

he’s about five months out of an engagement after cheating on his fiance of two years. tatum. they had dated for three years in total. this is something his pr team is keeping away from the public scene for so many reasons. his image is very important since he’s the lead singer of his band. it’s also because the person he cheated with happens to be with his own bass player. a night they were very high.

he’s very anxiety ridden. mostly from his childhood and if he doesn’t like being somewhere, he’ll leave without telling anyone. his band members know this already about him. he’ll sometimes use drugs to calm himself down.

whiskey lover. tattoo lover. his right ear is pierced. doesn't label his sexuality. he really could care less. has a bit of a drinking problem but hasn't come to terms with it and probably never will scorpio. main accessory is his leather jacket. has two dogs. axel and rose. tea lover gets around could go hours talking about sinatra or queen.

so i have been waiting to play a bitch inspired by the stepford wives for forever. if i ever actually finished books that weren’t assigned, wbk i’d read that bitch. but we settle for the 1975 movie. there’s ur preface.

i often get way too caught up in the story of the parents and wind up making just intros like,,, a novella, so i’m gonna do my best to skim over them and go more in-depth when i write the bio later on!!

so dahlia’s mom is inspired by neely “i’m a BIG STAR!” o’hara from ‘the valley of the dolls’ and her dad is, ofc, inspired by walter “no fun quotes or super extra™ monologues” everhart from, you guessed it, ‘the stepford wives (1975)’

just as a very brief explanation as to why “i’m a BIG STAR” wound up in the neighborhood she would, typical fall from glory, first manager whisked her away, “fell in love”, moved to a neighborhood where 95% of the women only found joy in cooking and cleaning

maybe if you HAD a fucking business...

through a series of gaslighting, emotional manipulation, and groupthink, dahlia’s father gradually got her mother to buy into all of it and have strong opinions on the best laundry detergent.

so this was a strange place to raise a child, amirite ? i mean, you got women discussing tide vs. bounty while baking cake, you got men being treated like kings – we over here in the stereotypical 1950s. 

they stanned super small neighborhoods in wales, but should they have ?

so she had a very skewed idea of what was acceptable and what wasn’t. the boys were treated extremely “boys will be boys!” like – like... more than they are when we talk abt the problem with that sentence – and the girls were all wives in training.

it was acceptable for boys and men alike to do whatever they wanted without asking the other. it was acceptable for boys and men alike to complain over anything they wanted. it was acceptable for boys and men to do all of these things that, if we heard about them today, we’d be like “jail??” or, at the very least “leave.”

it was all good and well though!! but one of the four (4) duties dahlia’s mother had was taking care of the child (the other three were cooking, cleaning, and pleasing)

you see, she was used to dahlia’s father blowing things out of proportion when it came to herself – it was normal and healthy!! but she was not used to him blowing things out of proportion on their child, aka dahlia (you see, this is what happens when i start talking about the parents too much)

the first time just warranted a brief “hey, maybe don’t.” the second time warranted a conversation that ended poorly. third warranted an empty threat of leaving that ended poorly. fourth warranted an actual threat that ended poorly. fifth and a bitch was like “ok where r we and how do we get out!!”

after finding her way out, she settled with dahlia in a rly crummy motel, but what else are u gonna do when u only have the few dollars u managed to steal from ur guy??

so dahlia’s mom phoned so many old friends and relatives. unfortunately, as a previous neely “the whole WORLD loves me!!” o’hara who just seemed to drop off the face of the earth, almost everyone was like “bitch tf no you ain’t stayin here”

the last person she phoned was her mom, aka dahlia’s grandmother, down in athens. reluctantly, a bitch was like “fine.”

so dahlia was ~13 by now. her mom found work as a maid bc she was rly good at cleaning and also had no clue how she would ever get a good acting career back (although, mind you, you know a bitch went out for some community theater plays). her grandmother was able to live off the inheritance her late husband, dahlia’s grandfather, left behind – however, she also had a work ethic that drove her to just... do whatever she deemed the right thing to do at the time. 

an old woman doing some odd jobs?? you know it!!

dahlia learned how to speak greek which is great bc you know what?? i duolingo’d that bitch and that owl is a jerk who wouldn’t let me get past “ο άντρας” even tho i spelled it!! right!! i had so many ppl compare what i spelled and what the answer was and i’m still bitter!!

so like,, wbk a bitch has some unresolved problems. when you grow up in the equivalent of stepford (copyright 1972, ira levin), you gonna have some things to work thru!!

so i figure the rest is kind of history?? i think i’ll be going in chronological order with the albums (in that a few years after that ‘electra heart’ was released, then ‘froot’, then a hiatus which we do NOT stan, then coming back with a leak ksksksks. BUT i may switch up electra and froot i’m not quite sure yet??)

PERSONALITY

VERSATILE: ok so she never really does things quite the same ? alexa, play ‘can’t pin me down’ by marina (and the diamonds) dahlia angelis. musically speaking, she really loves experimenting with different sounds. overall, she is still considered indie-pop, but we had some good new-wave pop in ‘the family jewels’, we had some good electropop in ‘electra heart’, we had some good general versatility in ‘froot’ (compare the song ‘froot’ to ‘immortal’ like we were boppin then we were havin an existential crisis). does not like keeping things the same in her music. does not like being compared to other artists bc?? everyone!! is different!! generally speaking, she’s just a very?? open person?? not as in emotionally open, open book – all that, as in willing to try pretty much anything?? as long as it’s not her actual routine, if a wrench is thrown in her plans, a bitch don’t care as long as the wrench ain’t smth dumb. here for a good time, not a long time.

INTUITIVE: ok so she got really into trying to read people and tbh psychoanalyze them ( alexa, play ‘savages’ by marina (and the diamonds) dahlia angelis ) after leaving that. town. with a name she doesn’t even recall?? wbk a bitch would speak up abt it if she could so that all of the women could be fckin saved but she j doesn’t remember anything abt it!! other than the environment in general!! what’s the name?? besides somewhere in wales, what’s the location?? she doesn’t know!! mainly bc i don’t!! and also for the sake of her not actually saying anything abt it willingly!! anyway!! she really does her best to read people and situations in order to analyze like?? the safety aspect, the other person’s stance, etc. doesn’t always work, but she tries. is pretty good at it, but no pro.

OBSESSIVE: ok so y’all see up there me talking abt routines?? there are two (2) ways in which girly is obsessive. first, a literal manner. routines that need to be done so the world doesn’t fall apart. i mean, we stan obscured brain chemistry, but we also stan horrible environments that just exacerbate it, even into adulthood, in the end ( alexa, play ‘obsessions’ by marina (and the diamonds) dahlia angelis. ) (also, i feel i should clear the possible iffy-ness this would have by saying that i’ve got ocd and will, therefore, be portraying it in a manner similar to mine so that it doesn’t come across as offensive to anyone else who may have a different form?? but most of the ‘routines’ won’t be very prominent in interactions). second, music!! when she gets started on a new project, -the mask vc- try ta’ stop [her]! -end vc- . will live in the studio until everything is complete and perfect. will spend her free time writing lyrics she knows she’ll never use bc?? why not?? gotta get that practice in!! can also apply to any other project types, but ofc the main ones would be music related so??

CYNICAL: ok. who’s gonna have a positive worldview after growing up where she did?? ( alexa, play ‘hermit the frog’ by marina (and the diamonds) dahlia angelis ) who’s gonna stan that?? that said, there is not a single genuinely good person in this world ( alexa, play ‘savages’ by marina (and the diamonds) dahlia angelis again ) if u ask her like?? not only did she already have that view after coming to her senses but?? now she knows about terrorists, about people from the usa who are SUPPOSED to be the good guys killing innocent ppl from ‘enemy territories’ for fun, ppl assaulting and killing minorities just bc they’re not like them, etc., etc., etc. convinced no one is inherently good. rly has a love/hate relationship with life ksksksks

HEADCANONS

a lot of these kind of tie into personality tbh?? 

literally knows everything about every cleaning product ever. ask her about the pros and cons of any and she will tell you. she’ll also tell you when it was manufactured, the ceo of the company that created it at the time, what went in it to make it, etc., etc., etc. knows so much.

kind of going off of that, actually really good at cooking and baking?? she rarely does it willingly, but will make a hell of a chocolate soufflé.

TRIGGER: IMPLIED SEXUAL ASSAULT -  i don’t want to go too far into this bc it’s very triggering content to many ppl (and even to ppl who it isn’t, it’s j?? not good.), but.... i mean.... the boys in her formative environment were literally encouraged to do whatever they wanted and they didn’t need permission?? END TRIGGER.

i have a whole-ass routine already figured out. there are a lot of facets obviously, so i’ll just mention a few?? but count them all as one headcanon to be fair. 

sets an alarm to get into bed at 1:11am bc it’s a good number but 11:11 is usually too early. sets an alarm for 11:11am to wake her up. will chill in bed if she’s awake before then but it has yet to go off. only exceptions are when she’s working on something she deems urgent.

that said, good numbers are 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 21, etc. no rhythm to it, but i wasn’t gonna go?? up until?? infinity??

if there are two doors that are both available to be opened and closed (aka not one of those “enter through this one, exit through this one”), will always enter through the right and exit through the left.

hi everyone! my name is victoria & this is my baby arielle. if you’d like to plot just hmu or like this post and i’ll come to you! here are some bulletpoints with basic info.

she was only fifteen when her first album came out. she started to write songs as a young age, knowing that music is the career path she wants to follow ever since she won a talent contest in school. she would often perform at school events, getting small venue gigs from time to time. 

arielle knew she needed help to become famous and that meant she had to sign with a manager. at first, it was her mother who gladly took the momager job. it went fine for a while but if she wanted to make it big in hollywood, she had to sign with a professional. 

it didn’t take long until she figured out a way to do so. her mother was dating someone behind her father’s back and that man happened to be one of the most promising managers in town. she threatened them both to make their relationship public if they wouldn’t agree to her terms. this is how she signed a contract with her actual manager.

she started to build her way up, getting closer and closer to being an a-lister every year. she worked really hard on her music but sometimes, it just wasn’t enough. that’s when the manager stepped in. he got her a deal with one of hollywood’s biggest record labels.

the results were astonishing. her albums were selling out like crazy and she made it to the top 40. she might’ve sacrificed her relationship with her mother but at least she was one step closer to her dream — to become a legend.

personality wise, arielle is a friendly woman. she is mostly a hopeless romantic that pours her soul in music but she is also a great friend and confidant. she understands the value of true friendship, she keeps everybody’s secrets safe. but she tends to be naive from time to time and it often ends up with her being stabbed in the back by the people she trusted.

him and his brother were in a store in 2012 and the place got robbed. both of them got shot. he was rushed to the hospital for a gunshot wound to his left side, baaz unfortunately had gotten shot in the chest when he moved to cover ilyas more ): that entire incident is why ilyas is petrified of hospitals. he still blames himself for his brother’s death because it was his idea to go to the store that night.

he’s an addict. he drinks alcohol almost every day, he smokes cigarettes every day, he smokes weed every day and he does drugs every day. his drugs of choice are doing lines of coke and ketamine on a daily basis; he pops percocet often but not daily. he’s also a sex addict.

selena gomez ; they briefly dated from jan ‘11 - july ‘11. they broke up because he didn’t want a relationship. they are on mutual terms but would never date again.

gemma styles ; they dated from sept ‘12 - feb ‘13. they broke up on valentines day when she found out he had been cheating on her. this was a huge scandal because she tweeted about it and a trending tag was number one that was #domsacheat.

bella hadid ; they dated from oc ‘16 - december ‘16. he was definitely a rebound from abel but he knew that. however, they broke up because they were at dinner and he confronted her about if she was speaking to abel again. she denied it; he was drunk and said some choice words; she threw her drink in his face and left. she later admitted she was seeing abel again. neither have explained why they broke up.

ex-fiance ; the two got together november ‘14 and he came out with them together via twitter. the two were together until splitting in june of 2015. they both have said they split. however, dom was the one that said they were engaged before they split. he was fucked up and proposed to her one night even though he knew he didn’t want to actually get married. however, the details of their entire relationship and break-up are to be plotted, thanks. i’m probably going to be a little picky with this one so don’t take offense if you ask for this and i say no. but please ask if you are interested.

enemy ; the basics to this is that your muse was dating someone, dom knew about it and continued to talk to them. your muse found out their bf/gf was cheating on them with dom so your muse hates dom for it. 

fwb ; yeah details are up to whoever wants this plot. open to multiples of these lol.

drug friends ; as it sounds, the two only really hang out when they are doing drugs together. dom probably hooked them up with his dealer and stuff. they are likely one of the few that know the true extent of his drug addiction.

on and off dating ; i thought this would be more like... they have great sex but are toxic. so they will randomly text each other to come over to fuck and are probably fucked up. and then they will briefly talk again and think about dating, but they always end up screaming at each other and breaking up, yet it keeps happening. details to be plotted.

ex-friend ; for this one, i was kind of wanting it to be like... he was close friends with this person and then he realized he was starting to have feelings for them so he dropped them. he likely gave them little to no explanation and has been a dick to them since. details to be added.

“American Girl” by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (1977)

I swear to you, this is completely coincidental.

When I published my last entry, “American Girl” was already cued up as my next five star song, and Tom Petty was very much alive.

I didn’t grow up a with much exposure to Tom Petty at all. I might’ve heard a song or two on AT40, and I knew his name, but I don’t think I could’ve named a single song of his until high school. Full Moon Fever came out during my freshman year, and even though 13 year old kids in Brooklyn weren’t necessarily getting down to “Free Fallin’”, I do remember hearing it a fair amount on the radio, plus “I Won’t Back Down” was part of either a baseball or basketball advertising campaign (I think).

I developed enough of an interest to pick up that Greatest Hits package when it came out at the end of 1993. Well, actually being able to afford the music that I wanted (due to actually having a job) helped. That package kicked off with, you guessed it, “American Girl”.

Here’s a song that charges out of the gate and announces itself as dope shit from the intro. Catchy guitar riff, catchy hook that you will start singing along with from your second listen, great (and simple) lyrics. One of the things I like most about Tom Petty is that there’s no artifice or pretention in his songwriting. He tells a story that’s super easy to grasp, wraps those stories around killer hooks, and voila. Those stories are usually (at least) good. “American Girl” is great.

And that’s to say nothing of that middle eight. That’s where the money is. From great song to classic, and all it took was one bridge.
