Charlotte Auto Fair
This weekend I went to the Charlotte Auto Fair in Concord Nc. This event happens twice a year with a Spring Show a Fall show. This is a great place to go and spend the day with the family or friends and look at some cool car and trucks. They also have and really good food trucks and venders there serving some good food. They normally have entertainment for people to watch. They also have a huge swap meets. Swap meet are where you can look around to find something that you might need, you’re your old classic you might be working on or that cool old retro sign you would like to put up in you man cave. If you love cars this is an event that you don’t want to miss out on so next time is come to a city near you, go and see for yourself.

Original 1968 Ford Mustang Bullitt Movie Car Shatters Mustang Price Record
If Steve McQueen was still with us, you know he would have jumped at the chance to own his co-star—the 1968 Ford Mustang GT that he drove in the classic cop film Bullitt. The original Highland Green beauty just crossed the block at the Mecum Kissimmee 2020 auction in Florida and became the most expensive Mustang ever sold.
If you thought the $1.1 million Craig Jackson recently spent on the first 2020 Shelby GT500 was a lot of money, you should probably sit down. Or consider the $2.2 million someone spent on a ’67 Shelby GT500 Super Snake (at the same auction in Kissimmee)—if that seems like pet-Leopard money, yeah, brace yourself. The Bullitt Mustang used in the eponymous movie just gaveled at Mecum for an eye-gouging $3.74 million. It is now not only the most expensive Mustang ever sold, but also the most expensive muscle car ever. That title used to belong to a 1971 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda convertible that changed hands for $3.5 million in 2014. But that Plymouth, you’ll note, was not one of the coolest movie cars of all time.
The Bullitt movie Mustang’s whereabouts were unknown for over four decades until it resurfaced at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show and we learned that it spent a good deal of time with a lucky family in New Jersey. Sean Kierman inherited the car from his father, and his family is finally ready to part with their most cherished possession.
“Through a lot of conversation and prayer my family and I have decided to sell our car, the 1968 Mustang GT fastback known as Bullitt. I can promise that we have thought this through together and decided that this is the best decision for the family,” announced Kierman via Instagram. “Bullitt has been part of my family for 45 years and we have celebrated her in the grandest way possible, and now it will have a new role and new meaning to the future owner.”

Mecum Auctions will handle the sale of the car and it will headline the Kissimmee, Florida auction in January 2020. The announcement of the car will be made in Monterey, California by myself surrounded by long time friends on August 14th at 3pm Pacific. I have accomplished what I set out to do with the car; Tell my Dad’s story in the best way possible and share the car with the world. I had no idea what to expect when we unveiled the car in January 2018 in Detroit, but since then everyone has been absolutely excited and respectful to see the car and hear the story. I have met many awesome people along the way and have heard many amazing stories. Thanks to each and every one of you, and I will continue to be very active in the automotive/Mustang community. Also, I plan to take a much bigger role in Parkinson’s research and surrounding charities such as Drive Toward a Cure. The following events are where you can come and see Bullitt and myself before January 2020- Kentucky Summer Nights, Somerset Kentucky – August 24th Mecum Dallas Auction – September 4th–7th Charlotte AutoFair – October 17th–19th SEMA – November 5th- 8th MCACN – November 23rd-24th

The car is one of two Mustangs featured in the 1968 movie and it was used for one of the most famous car chase scenes of all time. Kiernan’s mother used the car as her daily driver for years before it was disassembled in 2001 by the family.
Kiernan put it back together after his father died in 2014 and it has since toured the car around the U.S. and beyond. While you either missed your chance at buying the historic ’68 Mustang, couldn’t afford it even if you had the time to hit up Mecum in Florida, or have an unhealthy beef against Highland Green fastback Ford Mustangs that aren’t brand-new, you can still own a Bullitt Mustang. Ford offers the Mustang in Bullitt guise, with extra horsepower, slick exterior upgrades, and a wonderfully tuned exhaust that’ll bounce Bullitt movie sounds off buildings nearby while you bellow past. Oh, and it only costs $48,800.

FRIENDSHIP
Friendship within the car community is everything. These are just a few people who are my absolute best friends, but also people who share the same passion as me.
All of the photos are from the Autofair, the first being people that are in my car club, the second being one of my great friends Michael, who is in a different car club, and lastly someone who I went to High School with and my best friend Mike.
As you can see it doesn't matter how old you are, or how old the person is that you're hanging out with. Its the passion that brings you all together for one common reason. One sole purpose, to talk, enjoy, and strive in one community and be there for one another. These people are people that you can count on. I could be stuck on the side of the rode and call someone in the car community and because we all share that one bond, I know that I will have someone who will be there for me.
Friendship is the basis of so much. It does not matter what group you are, or what you enjoy, you find people who share a common interest, and you never know the opportunities that could arrive based off of the people that you meet!

If you have a large pile of cash available, get yourself down to Florida for the Mecum Kissimmee 2020 auction in January. McQueen would totally understand.
