There’s so many poems I enjoyed last year (2023) here they are in a list in no particular order:
Morning Love Poem // Tara Skurtu
À la recherche d’ Gertrude Stein” // Frank O’Hara
For Once, Then, Something // Robert Frost
Animal Languages // Chase Twichell
The Delight Song of Tsoai-talee // N.Scott Momaday
This untitled Ava Wolf poem
Clear Morning // Louise Glück
Defining the Problem // Wendy Cope
After the Movie // Marie Howe
Search History Sad // Caylin Capra-Thom
February & my love is in another state //José Olivarez
P.S. there were plenty of other things I found to be poetic that aren’t traditional modes of poetry. For instance the interview with James Baldwin and Giovanni, paintings, this YouTube video on Odilon Redon, found objects, infographics, etc.
I can’t leave these out. Quotes. Honorable mention for the Jeremy Radin one.

9. Ava’s Veterans Shot
Ava hit the nail on the head with this shot. Her backbend pose fits the extreme posing brief but still looks totally effortless. The dress looks amazing on her and she also connected well with the veteran. Finally, her face is perfection: the light is hitting her bone structure beautifully and I love her serene expression. It’s hard to believe that Ava was eliminated soon after a shot of this level.

#1 – Ava’s Veterans Shot
It is weird to see that Ava has actually kept shorter hair since the show; the mullet may be gone, but Tyra’s sentiment about strong faces actually proved true. She looks incredible now, even if I still think this is the best I’ve ever seen her photograph. You take away the hair here, and the shot would lose a lot of its wonder. The flowing hair, along with the dress makes Ava look like some ethereal being, clutching to the stability of the veteran. The shot would still be great without the hair, but I doubt I’d be putting at the top of this list. Definitely the worst makeover of all time.

Kai needs to tell everyone (anyone?) about what Ava said about Ruksana. Admitting she was the one who went and blocked them backfired cause now everyone thinks that she’s a catfish

If we were during Old Hollywood, how your blog would look like ? also who will be the hated girly?
People would either love or hate Katherine Hepburn, Joan Crawford, Ingrid Bergman, Judy Garland and Norma Shearer. Most of us would stan Audrey Hepburn, Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, Myrna Loy, Lena Horne, Rita Hayworth, Ginger Rogers, Rosalind Russell, and Caroline Lombard. Everyone would complain about how Claudette Colbert is underrated when she’s actually not but complain about how overrated Grace Kelly and Lana Turner are. We’d all be wondering where the fuck Garbo and Tierney went. Hate Wagner and Douglas for what he did to Natalie, bitch about Ava Gardner but secretly love her. Fight over who is right in the Joan Fontaine vs Olivia de Havilland feud. I’d have to ban speculations over Cary Grant and Randolph Scott’s sexuality as well as the sewing circle. Half of you would also speculate that Katherine Hepburn is bearding for Spencer Tracy. We’d thirst over Clark Gable, Gregory Peck, Errol Flyn, Henry Fonda, William Holden, Tyrone Power, Sinatra, Robert Taylor, Brando and Paul Newman. Then you’d all hate me for finding Jimmy Stewart and William Powell hot. We’re also scandalised by Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe but we stan them either way. We’d be frothing over any new Wilder and Capra films. We’d also hate and love Hitchcock cause he’s a creep but the movies are amazing.

3. Ava
The blurry effect pisses me off to no end, but I still love Ava’s half of this shot. Her face is perfection here; her bone structure looks fabulous and her eyes are powering through to connect with the camera. She almost looks slightly startled, like she was caught by the photographer in the middle of a private moment with Stefano. I like the romantic way she’s grabbing onto him, and the leaned pose and neck extension are great as well. I wasn’t sure about Ava’s potential at first, but she really nailed this shot and proved me wrong.

#4 – Ava
If I had to see anyone return, Ava would have been my choice. While not the only questionable elimination, she is probably the only one I’d say who deserved to still be competing. At least she got a better end to her story. This photo is a divine final addition to her portfolio: the strength in her bone structure, the animosity in the expression, the delicacy of the hand and wrist…all divine little elements that create a fashionable photograph, dripping with a backstory. She hasn’t linked to the dog physically, but has created an emotional connection better than anyone else. I feel like I know this woman. The one detail I am not loving is the way she is holding the cup; call me a cliché, but I would have just lived for a little finger sticking out. It would be another perfect detail to sell the shot.
