I still haven't really processed that I went into Beastars expecting it to be "furries be horny" and what I actually got was "THE EPIC HIGHS AND LOWS OF HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA CLUB (and furries be horny)"

i genuinely love how the acting club stuff is woven in tho. episode 3 tells you everything you need to know about louis’ character, doing ridiculous, self destructive shit because he lives for drama and the desire to prove himself.

I'M SO EXCITED FOR FRUITS BASKET! There's some stuff in it that hasn't aged gracefully (late 90s shoujo, what are you going to do) but I think it's a really good story and maybe that's just nostalgia talking, but I'm very glad you have quickly identified Uo and Hana as objectively the best characters (why are the heroine's best friend(s) always the best characters)

But actually, I kept dying trying to COMPLETE MY MAP GOD DAMN IT, and once I completed the Rito divine beast and got the ability to make updrafts, I just got to the closest highest place I could and then they couldn’t see me and shoot me before I got out of their reach 

Which was kind of my strategy in general, and I’m kind of amazed it worked.

I’ve dragged my feet on the last few eps because you know my feelings about Coffee Filter, but if they’re roasting him then I can catch up and be glad

Yeah I just binged this morning. It’s a gentle roasting, like roasted coffee beans, but they are making fun of him a lot and the word “manchild” was used so it makes him a lot more tolerable. Plus SungWon’s voice for him is at least nice to listen to.

I’m actually genuinely curious to see how they’ll react to some of his more awful/weird moments, like how is SungWon going to handle having to constantly say “kitten” in case 4. If we get some good jokes out of it, it might heal me a little.

IDK this show but Doc THANK YOU for the truth about being a lesbian, as someone who’s dived headfirst into dating this last year I’m so fucking tired of ‘lol if you just talk to women you’ll get a gf you dumb lesbian’ as if all women are the same just like a charger cord for your phone and it’ll plug in perfectly, you don’t have to be compatible in any way. just Talk to a Woman Lol and I’m like 'cool how you think that apparently we’re a hivemind’

Yeah I mean, the joke is valid because I do feel like lesbians fucking avoid talking to girls like its their job, but I think the joke of “I think you may find that talking to a girl is an important first step in actually dating someone” has somehow become “All you need to do is talk to someone and BAM instead girlfriend” when that’s just not true.

 Lesbians (and, I assume, gay men, though I don’t know from personal experience) also and already have to bend our expectations to get anyone! If I were straight there is no way in fuck I would have considered marrying a non-Jew, but as a lesbian my options are far far more limited already. I had to choose my choices. 

And this being a thing leads a lot of young lesbians to date really terrible people or simply people they don’t jive with at all because of this idea that they just need to find SOMEONE. 

So yeah, actually trying to date is an important part of finding someone to date, and I’m literally the first one to gently take a lesbian by the hand and go “A girl will not drop in your lap while you refresh tumblr and listen to My Favorite Murder” we also need to stop pretending that it’s just as easy as turning on the light. I dated* EXTENSIVELY from the age of 18 on, and only found someone who was ~marriage material~ when I was 27. (Full disclosure: for many of those years, I was not marriage material)
